It's that time of year again... BBQ Season! And one of Colorado's best competitions is only a couple weeks away, The BBQ with Altitude Challenge in Frisco, CO. It's a KCBS sanctioned event held at 9,075 ft. And it is arguably one of the highest BBQ competitions in the world. Check out the BBQ's official website for more information...

Looks like a blast Todd, I wish I lived closer. Good luck on the competition, and kick that runt Danny's ass for me. Nothing better than a Bear fan crying after he loses.

Nice - I'll do my best to put Danny under the table, if not with my BBQ then most likely with a little beer or my preferred, Jack Daniels... it doesn't take much to see Danny go fetal...

Plus it'll be fun to see all those Cash boys crawl again, they live in my coolers at these events. They never seem to bring their own libations.

love going to bbq challenges. wish that one wasn't so far away. i don't compete just like attending. i do ribfest in indy and fiddlin, brewing ang bbqing in nashville and the one jack daniels has in lynchburg. lots of fun to attend and i bet even more fun to participate. good luck guys.

Toad, why would we bring our own liquor when you always have those giant bottles of Jack Daniels in your coolers? Remember, you're always welcome to grab a beer from our booth. So is anyone else from the blog who shows up. These shows are fun.

I noticed that you moved farther away from my booth this year. That'll be a long walk for you guys to get to my beer and Jack.

The 2008 Colorado BBQ with Altitude Challenge was another huge success!

The town of Frisco said that they increased sales of BBQ tickets by 10% this year. That's great for the Charity.

Our team increased our sales by almost 70%! And that's great for the Toad! They told us that the only vendor that out sold our team was the Beer tents. And I think they had a dozen of them...

We did not turn in any of our competition meats or sauces because we were just too busy selling. We did win People's Choice, the Mayor's Showmanship Award and a white water rafting trip for the team. Basically, we swept anything that people could vote on...

Anyway, we had a great time, again. And I personally would like to thank all the volunteers that help the Golden Toad BBQ Team at these events. We had 14 Toad Groupies this year.

We would love to do Weekend of Fire, but it's a busy week for me every year. That first weekend in August (1st thru 5th thsi year) I ride to the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for a little R&D and good people watching. Then the following weekend (7th thru 10th) we show at the BBQ at the Summit in Dillon, CO. If the weekend of fire is always at the beginning of August, the Golden Toad will not be able to make the show...
