DEFCON CREATOR’S ‘NO SLEEP TILL BROOKLYN’ DEFCON DAY
SATURDAY, AUGUST 12TH, 2006, 9PM UNTIL ???

Well, here we go again. The sun hasn’t even had a chance to completely set since the last DEFCON Day, and it’s already time for another one! This time we are changing the venue a bit, this time we’re hitting NYC, Brooklyn to be exact. The date for this shindig is Saturday, August 12th. This time it’s a chance for the night owls to come out, as we’re starting at 9pm until ???.

Duff’s is an interesting (to say the least) sort of place located at N. 3rd Street and Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211 (directions below). The owner of the establishment, Jimmy Duff, is a high school friend of mine. He previously co-owned The Bellevue Bar on 40th and 9th, and has had quite the following in the last few years. Jimmy is a trip, as is the place. It’s smaller than The Alley, so we won’t be doing the wing-eating competitions (as far as I know), but as always, there will be FREE DEFCON wings and raffles for a bunch of stuff.

To learn more about Duff’s, check out the website. As you’ll see, it is a very interesting place.

So come on down to this chapter of DEFCON Days. Different venue, interesting place, best wings in the nation! If you haven’t experienced a DEFCON Day, check out the website to see what you’ve missed so far:
www.DEFCONsauces.com
Or take a look at the Defcon Day 3 Gallery on the HSB
And you can Revel in the Aftermath of Defcon Day #3

DIRECTIONS:
If you are driving, here’s where it is:
MapQuest

If you are taking mass transit, here’s what to do:
Take the L Train to the Bedford Avenue Station at the corner of North 7th and Bedford Avenue. Walk 4 blocks south on Bedford Avenue to North 3rd Street. Turn right and walk 3 blocks to Duff’s Brooklyn on the Southwest corner of North 3rd and Kent.

DEFCON Creator out…

Yesterday we celebrated Clints 21st and we did Japanese, and Karaokee. We had two new experiences yesterday, we opened a Blairs 2am and a Defcon2 first time for both. I can say, that 2am is the most quality extract ive ever tasted, and that defcon2 is some buttery goodness. My chest hurts just thinking about it. Im gonna have to hit up KFC get a Breast chicken, no punk wings here, im going for BREAST and DEFCON2! *Pats Stomach*

Scott, Jim Duff (the owner) has quite the following. He has had regular visits by MTV for broadcasts, as well as regular appearances by many majors players in the heavy metal world. He used to co-own the Bellevue Bar on 40th & 9th, and moved to Brooklyn…Best part is, all the people followed him to the new location. It’s a one of a kind. Me and Jim have been trying to work out a date for this gig for many months now, and I’m glad to finally say next Saturday is it! For anyone who can make it, you’ll have a friggin’ blast, guaranteed! If only he had wireless, I could do a broadcast from it, between wing batches, but alas this is not to be.

I’m glad to hear hear it Daniel. I’ve been told by many that the #2 is a great overnight marinade for shrimp. After they soak, just throw them on the grill. I personally haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard from many who have.

Daniel, if you think the 2 AM is great, try try the Defcon Zero. The Zero is by far the best extract I have ever tasted. No bitterness or aftertaste, just pure heat!

Creator, thanks for the recommendation on the shrimps, sounds great!

Not a problem man. Another rather odd use is from a couple people in TX, they put the #3 on their popcorn.

i have been putting habenero sauce on my popcorn forever. it tastes awesome. it is best with light popcorn with not too much butter flavor so you get most of the hot sauce kick. great with brew of course.
