Hello My Chilipals,
First of all, Happy New Year! Ok, that’s out of the way. Let’s start off with some FUN! Here is a contest for you. It’s 2 parts:
Part 1.) I want to hear your greatest use for any of my Death Sauces. No, I do not want a recipe. I want just want to know how you use it. From something as simple as pouring it on your pizza, to keeping bears off your property, to what you do with the bottle itself (whatever! no rules!)
Part 2.) Email your me your
hot sauce collection. I want to see what’s going on with it. It is not based on if you have all my products (of course, that does make it cooler). But whatever you have send all your details, when you started, how many bottles, your most prized, what people think of it, do your friends/family think your nutz, etc. send it all (info, photos, whatever!)Five judges from Blair’s Sauces & Snacks will decide on February 20, 2006. The Top 5 winners will receive a set of the new “Cutting Room Floor”. Only 10 sets are being offered worldwide! The other 5 will sell for $799 each and will be offered first to those who send in a entry.
It is simple! Email me with all the good stuff at blair@extremefood.com
FYI - The “Cutting Room Floor” is a medley of Death Sauce Labels that never made it into production, some dating back to 1989. These are some classics! Some are as new as 2005. See the thousands of hours that is spent by the Worlds Most Obsessive Compulsive
Chilihead .There are some really great ones, but for whatever reason just never made it. Over 1 Dozen bottles in each set that are Signed & Numbered. This is the lowest Reserve Set I have made! Ok, so that is the deal. Have fun with it and, please, FEEL ALIVE IN 2006!
Your Chilipal,
BlairPLEASE NOTE: B-99 will start shipping about 7 days later than expected. I am still awaiting the final wax from Italy, but the bottles look great!
By submitting your email for the “Cutting Room Floor Contest”, you are granting Blair’s Sauces & Snacks and Extremefood.com the express right to use all images and content via web, print, audio or other sources.

As previously discussed here, Blair has been working on rolling out his new

So I decided to compare the flavor of the new Wasabi Q Heat to the old recipe, since there are no other Wasabi based

Biggles noted that the original Wasabi Ginger was almost as thick as mayonaise and boy was he right. You can see how it’s holding it’s shape on the sushi. It’s thick, almost paste like and the flavor tastes like mayonaise with wasabi. Not very impressive.

Now for the good stuff. The new recipe is nothing like the old one. In fact I think the only thing these two sauces have in common is Q Heat label. You can see pieces of green tea and jalapeno chiles floating in the bottle and the consistency is much more like a hot sauce. It pours easily, yet sticks to food. The flavor is quite unique, it’s almost habanero like. In fact I had to re-read the ingredient list to make sure there were no habs in it. It’s the combination of the quick wasabi burn combined with the jalapeno peppers that gives it that hab like heat - which quickly disappears. The green tea is hardly noticable, but it gives the sauce a bit more body and well rounded flavor.
Now, this isn’t a hot sauce that you can use everyday - or at least I can’t use it everyday, but it is a great sauce that should be saved for those days your eating sushi or cooking Asian food. The Wasabi Green Tea would work great in a stirfry.
The new recipe should be available at both ExtremeFood.com and SNS soon!
