The HSB has grown so quickly that we are now accepting applications for guest writers and reviewers.
Free Hot Sauce?
Have thoughts to share? Funny stories? Advice to up and coming sauce makers? Recipes?
Great! But can your tastebuds handle it?
Here’s the deal: If you would like to apply, send us an email or leave a comment here and we’ll be in touch. If you pass the mustard (hot sauce) we’ll set you up with a login and a posting schedule. Then comes the sauce. We’ll give you free sauce to review and use - however, you must have a digital camera so that viewers can see exactly what you created with it.
We expect guest bloggers to post reviews as often as we send you sauces, the better the reviews, the more sauces you’ll get. But beyond reviews, we also would like guest bloggers to post about anything else hot sauce related, maybe funny stories, horror stories, how to guides - anything that comes to mind.
Again, to apply send us an email or leave a comment and we’ll contact you with more information.
WOW - there’s been quite a response so far. I’ve started contacting a few people, others I will contact later today. I envision at least 5 seperate reviewers at first, that may get whittled down depending on the post quality and then I may cycle other people back in to the mix. Thank you all for your responses!

I would love to review hot sauces for your site!
I’d be up for giving it a shot. You can reach me at the email address on this comment.
I’d love to be a reveiwer for HSB. I’ve got a mini-fridge full of sauces, several of my own making, but I have pretty much run through all the ones available at my local store. I’ve gotten to the point of putting hot sauce on anything that can take it, and I’d be more than happy to share my thoughts. Also, I’ve got six of my own recipes worked out that make for some pretty damn good sauces, and I am more than willing to share the spicy goodness. So, thanks for the chance. Cheers, Marc.
Nick, I’m interested.
i would like to be a taste tester for the hot sauces you sponsor
I’d be very interested in posting to your site! I’m originally from south Louisiana, and my parents still like to tell stories about my asking for Tabasco as a three-year-old. I’m just atarting a hot sauce collection, and would love the extra knowledge that testing sauces for HSB would provide. I’m also an English major, and have always enjoyed creative writing with a humorous edge!
Whoa that sounds like a dream come true! I’d love to do something like that.
iam a prof.disabled chef and i make all kinds of sauce’s and i grow my own chilli’s.also was a chef for EL Torto mexican rest.before they closed east coast rest. so i would be a great tester and i have all the time since i dont work
Hi. I’m a former college newspaper editor (career highlights: running the recipe for “Shit-Kickin’ Belly Burnin’ Chili and Dean in Iowa) and chili addict. I blog and look good in a bandana. Also, I own and use a digital camera.
I would love to do this.
What! You don’t have a Canadian woman reviewing hot sauces yet????? CALL ME!
I got started with “rooster” sauce, the hot sauce you find at all Chinese places. I graduated to hotter and hotter sauces from there. Id like to write for your site. Im currently staring at Blairs Mega Death and thinking: “well…its hot…i guess”.

AMEN bro!
Hey thanks for the hot wellcome, i would love to go to the zestfest this year hope to see ya all there, and hope i start cooking hotter.
WoW! Look at the number of people that usually sit back and read that are interested in this. Nice, it looks like this is a topic that caught some attention.
Nick I’d be really interested in doing this - I know it’s a really old post but I’ve only just seen it. Could do UK based companies (if there are any)
or any sauces that you send - u could probably just send them with any orders I make. Plus I do have a digital camera
I could review sauces available over here that probably are not available in America and inform you where you can get them from
Hi Nick - I think you might have sorted it - if you look at the 2 comments above - theyre from the same computer but seem to be from two different people. It’s confusing me - hopefully not you though
now I really am confused - its goin back and forth. lol
I am interested in writing for hot suace blog - I keep my own blog about spicy food - http://www.chilefire.com - but would love to guest write for you guys as well.
Chilefire is directed towards cooking - my product reviews on Chilefire are alll integrated into recipe posts, because I don’t cook with hot sauces (rather I use them as sauce) I don’t do nearly as many hot sauce reviews as I would like to.
Check out my site - I love writing about spice and fiery food - it’s a great hobby and has made me a lot of great new friends. If you like What I have done with Chilefire - send me a note I would love to make Hot Sauce Blog a place to do those sauce reviews I have floating around in my head.

WOW I agree, a whole bunch of new faces popped up !!!!!
Living here in Phoenix AZ, I would like to add my 2 cents. We have a huge selection of authentic Mexican food, I consider myself an expert.
Keep me in mind for anything southwestern themed.

Come now AJ I know you miss the nice winters of Mich,
Seeing as I grow hot peppers and cook with hot stuff and have been doing so for nearly 30 years I know I would be an asset to your family. I have very discerning taste buds and usually if it tastes good to me, most people I feed always like what I cook. I also make sauces, relishes, jellies, and salsa. Give me a shout if you can use my taste buds. Thanks for the consideration
Seattle born , ellensburg farm raised, southern taught cooking chef, creole enlightened , survied 12 hurricanes in 3 years and learned how to cook on the pervisions. lol the only thing left in the garden was some red savinas and a serious patch of cayanne plants, and a jar of cinnamon and some palmetto honey. guess what? it kicks ass on grilled smoked grouper. and the other fish we caught .. cheers florida
hey nick this is kinda late but i would like to put in an app. i will leave a comment on my dads review to make sure u get a chance to think it through peace out
travis
PS i have access to a digital cam.
unlike most people i dont want to do this just for the free hotsauce. it sounds like something i would really enjoy doing. i recently purchased about 35 bottles of sauce in the chilli emporiums closing out sale. i can start doing reviews and sending them in on these sauces and you wont even have to send me anything for a long time, if at the time that they run out you are satisfied with my posts and want to keep me doing reviews that would be great and id love the job, if not nobody’s out anything.
Hello Nick, may I also become a hot sauce reviewer? At least, let me try out, and I promise you I won’t let you or my fellow hot sauce lovers down with half-hearted reviews. A funny story I had with a hot sauce was this: When I was a student, I went to this 8-week geology field camp in Wyoming. One night, our prof took out this very small bottle of hot sauce made by a company somewhere in AZ. Now being the young, brave, and stupid soul that I was, I had a lot of it. I guess I ended up having some on my fingers and during that night while I was sleeping in the aluminum cabin I rubbed my eyes and some other places… Oh man, I woked up right away and ran to the wooden bathhouse a field-length from the cabin with wolves howling in the dark and spent 15 min trying to wash all the hotness off my body. So I guess you can say that I really like and am kinda afraid of hot sauces. RESPECT the Hot sauce, that’s my motto.
sincerely,
Queena
My nickname is the HOT SAUCE QUEEN. Since I was a little girl, I have ate hotsauce with a spoon and I can drink tabasco sauce like it is water. I have challenged many men thinking that can out handle me in spice and I have won everytime, many times my competitors were left with tears or puking. I look sweet and innocent, but I can take the heat. I admire new and different flavors, and I extremely interested in tasting for your company. I have worked in the food industry for the last 10 years, so I understand food and flavors!!! PICK ME TO TASTE FOR YOU, it would be dream come true for Hot sauce queen.
Sincerely,
Misty from California
I’d be interested in doing this if you still need people.
I no longer want to be a temp paralegal. It is boring. I recently decided to dedicate my life to my passions. One of them is helping people. One of them is writing. One of them is hot sauce. If I can write to help people with their hot sauce decisions, then I think I could be happy. If you are not accepting reviewers, then I was hoping for advice. I have been a hot sauce fanatic for many years, yet I find it hard, perhaps intimidating, to break into this chilehead culture. I have a small but adequate collection of active bottles, and a much larger collection of empties. I’ve heard true afficianados buy two and never open one, but I find it hard to resist. I want to know organizations I can get involved in, people I can talk to, and opportunities available for someone who has resolved to hone his skills as a writer in an area where he has always possessed a keen personal interest. Thank you.
I would love to do reviews for you. I have about 100 different types of hot sauces in my kitchen right now & have probably tried over 500, it’s probably more, I’ve been at it for a loooong time. I’ve been a spicey addict since I was a kid so probably 35 years of experience. One of the first things I do when traveling out of the country is to visit the local markets & head straight to the hot sauce. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled around Kenya, Amsterdam (great malaysian), Belize, Saint John, Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Mexico, Bahamas & around the Carribean as well as just about every state in the U.S. including Hawaii & have lived in the mid west, east coast & the south, now living in New Orleans.
My husband owns a restaurant here in New Orleans & while I am not the chef (I own a graphic design business) I am a damn good cook!
seriously, I have a lot of friends that are chefs & they all say I’m at the top of their favorite chef lists… I LOVE to share recipes.
I am about to order probably 15 hot sauces to try, which I do every few months. I also have to restock my Marie Sharps (like ketchup in my house), Bobo’s Bajan, & Aunt Anna’s (our replacement for “yellow” mustard).
Hope you’ll let me be a part of this great site! YOU definitely need a female reviewer

Smilies - HSB Rules & Regs - Spamtastic?

Hey Nick, Ièd be interested in pitching in. As for my hot resumé well, let’s see. I’ve worked in a kitchen for five years with an Italian and a Mexican chef, plus I specialized in Cajun and anything that I can cook with fire (my ribs are legendary). Since my family is full of hunters and fishermen, I always wind up with alot of varied meats to experiment with (deer, moose, caribou, pike, pickerel, etc.). I grow my own chiles, make a mean Jalapeno and Cherry Bomb relish (I’ll send you a sample as soon as I’m in the States in the fall) and smoke my chipotle. My hot sauce collection, combined with my brother who’s as big aq chilehead as myself (his 2 yr old already is in love with the Heinz Chili sauce), are mostly Ass sauces, which we particularly enjoy. We also use the Frank’s Red Hot series as our ketchup. Every second or third year, my work brings me down to New Orleans, where I can stock up on new sauces and dishes. So my contribution would range from recipes (ranging from easy grilling stuff to elaborate game meat dishes), any sauce you want me to review, and if you want, I could use my friends as guiney pigs; their heat tolerance ranges from iron stomach to hot sauce quasi-virgins. If you want some of my writing samples, visit me Livejournal (listed in the URI)or do a pubmed (www.pudmed.org) with Turrin-n as a search name. Also, you guys need some good Canadian influence!
Cheers,
Nick (Too)
