Straight from Cell Block B of the Saskatchewan Correctional Facility comes Uncle Big’s Serial Killer Private Reserve.
It’s been over a year in the making, with numerous different flavour combinations from around the world, varying mind blowing heat intensities, personal injury, strained marriages, and even a break and enter, but finally Uncle Big is proud to unleash his unbridled rage here on Hot Sauce Blog.
The UBK Serial Killer Private Reserve is infused with 11 peppers including the “Dorset Naga†pepper and is the self proclaimed and so far uncontested “hottest sauce in Canadaâ€.
Uncle Big chose a cognac inspired bottle which fits nicely in its final resting place, a black UBK embroidered “bottle bagâ€, with a screened moniker denoting the contents of said body bag.
The UBK Serial Killer reserve release purchase options are as follows:
Bagged and Tagged: $79
The first 5 oz offering comes housed in a handmade “bottle bag†complete with hand signed laminated Certificate of Authenticity tucked in the back and “toe tag†on the bag sporting the UBK Reserve Logo. Each 5 oz bottle is stamped, hand signed (1-55) and numbered by Uncle Big himself.
Now remember, Uncle Big wants his reserve to be eaten so each “bagged and tagged†set, comes with a matching 2 oz tasting bottle. Open it, Uncle Big dares ya!!
This is a limited run of 55 bottles.
Out Of The Bag: $49
The second chilehead option is a 5 oz bottle double dipped, stamped with the UBK royal seal, and riding shotgun is a double dipped 2 oz taster.
This 5 oz is signed by Uncle Big and the back sticker contains each bottle’s number.

For Uncle Big, the sauce inside the bottle is what he’s most proud of as is the case with all of his sauces. This one is no different as Uncle Big hopes everyone enjoys the flavour of the Serial Killer before the long fuse of the Naga kicks in.

So, is this the reserve that UB mentioned several months ago, and took emails to “reserve” a spot in line, and a number? I guess I still need to place an order, to pay for it and what not, but is this the same thing?
Now, confusion aside… That is a really, really nice looking bottle. I like how the wax drips in the same direction for both colors. Nice touch. I also like the idea of taster bottles with reserves. I often wonder what they taste like, and now I have no excuse!

Don’t let the moniker “taster” fool ya. The companion taster can become a collectible all it’s own. It also increases the value of the collectible in the future if the collectible still has the companion included with it. To me, tasters should always be separate from a collectible and in unlimited quantities if it’s meant for tasting. But that’s just my 2 cents.

This IS the set that we announced on HSB a while back, yes it is.
Everyone that was in on that presale still has their numbers in place (that includes you buddy), as long as they purchase the set within 72 hours.
I was getting wordy in the release yesterday and left that out.
Quantities are VERY limited on both after that presale, so if you’re interested in a little piece of the Canadian hot sauce collectible market, shop it now or forever hold your peace, or until they pop up on Ebay.

We were way up there, around 2.5 million at one point, but I want people to be able to survive this sauce and come back for more, over and over again.

I was confused though, my taster bottle wasn’t double dipped, just had red wax on it. Oh well though, ’cause I cracked that SOB open with whatever sharp implements I could find at my office.
That stuff is insane, but yet–I kept trying more and more. I think us cold weather folk (Canadians and us Alaskans) NEED some “heat” to get us through the winter!
Before this came–CaJohn’s 10 was my uber-sauce. You have now de-throned and beaten to a bloody pulp that sauce.
If I may ask, *is* there pepper extract in this? I’m quite the purist–and as far as your flavor tells me, I detect none of the usual bitter/chemical tastes in this sauce.
KUDOS to UKB! I plan on growing my on Naga Morich over the winter here in Alaska inside via some high-end areoponics setups my friends have to create a blistering sauce featuring Alaskan tomatoes and organic vinegar.

I’m glad you like the Serial Killer, thanks for the input.
Yes, there is extract in it, but the extract we use is of the purest form and naturally extracted so the bitterness is nearly completely absent for most palettes. Some people notice it, some people say the Serial Killer tastes sweet, it’s all personal taste I guess.
Thanks for the comparison to Cajohn’s 10, that’s a flattering thing to say, in a violent bloody pulp type of way. Cajohn rules as far as I’m concerned and to be compared to his sauces it great for us.
The wax issue was brought up in the Boiler Room a while back, and I will share the info again.
The “Out of the Bag” were to have a SINGLE DIPPED TASTER, but there was (for a day or two back in June) a duplicate listing on our website where it said “double dipped 2 oz taster.” That was a glitch in the shopping cart.
As well to add more confusion, the photos that I took for the shopping cart and promotional use was of only the “Bagged and Tagged” bottles which showed the 2 oz taster double dipped.
The thing that made me smile out of all of this, the 2 ozer was SUPPOSED TO BE EATEN, so I didn’t think it really made that much of a difference, but boy was I wrong. People refused to open the 2 ozer and we actually made a small run batch of unwaxed to sell to the public, both 2 oz and the manly man sized 5 oz bottle.
So, seeing as you’ve opened the taster like a good boy, my hats off to you. We’re glad you enjoyed it.
