Very good deals - website is going a little slow, must be everyone on it shopping around, but once you find what your looking for - it’s a steal

It’s a sad day here in Albuquerque. Their shop was the friendliest and had the most selection of anyone here in town.

Why do hot sauce stores always seem to go out of business? Is it the nature of the product? The industry? The consumer? Is there an academic paper out there about this, that perhaps hotsauceblog could blog about?

It’s a low margin business (unless you sell collectibles) - so you have to have a place that does high volume or doesn’t rely on only hot sauce to make $. I’ve never seen a research paper done on it, but would love to know if anyone else has.

In our case it was a lack of local customer support. We did okay with the tourists–that is to say the ones that aren’t scared of hot. When we were forced to move out of the mall due to the mall renovation (which never even took place by the way), it killed us. We even had over 12,000 flyers (with a coupon) handed out for us at The Fiery Food Show in March and we only got back 7 of the coupons. It’s sad, but we just couldn’t continue to loose money day after day. The only time we did okay was during Christmas. Somehow the locals thought hot foods were only good for Christmas gifts.

Of course there are some execptions, like the chile heads here!

Hey, Danny—thanks! BTW, Bryan’s favorite sauce is STILL Bottled Up Anger. When we run out, he’ll be your best retail customer!

Obviously I am too late. I used to buy in batches to save on the postal charges.

I am almost out. and was about to place another order.
Super people and so sad that they had to close down.
Still have the super T-shirt you sent me.

Good luck in the future. Is there anyone else out there selling similar???
