Yelton and DeSimio have named their business venture the Chipotle Chicks because they believe their claim to fame may be what they cook inside large, stainless steel canners over a six-burner industrial stove inside Yelton’s farm kitchen.
Although they plan to offer several products, such as Hill Dilly Beans (a pickled, dilled green bean), hot pepper jelly, roasted tomatillo salsa and roasted red pepper spread, their anchor product is Kentucky Chipotle Sauce. And when it premiered at the first Farmer’s Market last month, the Chicks sold all nine cases of eight-ounce jars at $4 a piece by shortly after noon. Read More…
