Cody's Hot Sauce Collection

Hi, my name is Cody Chapman A.K.A. cdy1776. I’m 16 years old and have been collecting for only one year. Being the age I am it’s hard to buy sauces online when you don’t have a credit card, so please excuse my small collection. I have over 50 bottles in my collection (if you count the ones that I don’t have for display and either didn’t fit or is in my refrigerator). I have consumed over 30 bottles of sauce, including black mamba, Blair’s jersey death, mega death, sudden death, original death, after death, Dave’s ultimate insanity, adjustable heat, cholula, DA’ bomb, Tabasco, mad dog 600,000 collectors edition, etc. etc. etc. I will continue to be an avid collector.

Very nice collection, you have to start somewhere, and you have some great bottles there.

Man, a BATCH #2 would fit in nicely (shameless plug). T-Minus a day or two…

Way to go Cody, you have some great bottles already and you have to start somewhere- we were all there at one point also. Though so many sauces are available online, I have always found “The Hunt” for them is so much more fun. I have a lot of luck in produce stands, ethnic grocery stores, meat markets, and fresh markets- not to mention the many hot sauce specific based retailers you can find. Keep the faith and keep searching, your collection rocks and will only get better.

Creator or Mad- Mad was talking about possibly having a DEFCON day in Ireland - was this for real? Just wondering as I’ve got to organise a tour n thing that would be a great place to go to

Matt, I am definitely interested in doing a DEFCON Day in Ireland, I think it would be an absolute blast. It’s also one of those things that takes quite a bit of logistical effort, including transporting cases of sauces across the big pool. Mad will be coming to the DEFCON Day on April 1st, we will discuss it further…Over a few pints of Guiness mind you. We have actually been contacted to do one of these gigs in Oregon, Vermont, Texas, California, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands as well. I’m going into organizational overload, but alas, it is a good problem to have. I have actually been tossing the idea around to have outside people (newly-formed Acolytes of the Defcon Collective) run these things for us, we shall see the outcome of these ideas.

That sounds awesome. Definately keep me informed please. I got a ball to go to tomorrow night - think everyone is drinking Guiness to get a St. Patrick’s day Guiness hat - dinner suit and guiness hat. I don’t think that’s a good combo. lol

Nice collection, Cody. However, I think you’re insane:
“I have consumed over 30 bottles of sauce, including black mamba”

Nice collection Cody. You’ve done very well for being 16 without a credit card. I’m 26 and you’re right up there with me. Hat’s off to you. Keep on Rock’n.

Hi Anthony, like I said we are being inundates with requests. We will be keeping it local for now (within a state or 2), but will also be doing the research regarding customs on-site international sales, etc. Perhaps towards the end of the year we will branch out. Hmmmm, which country will be the first to be assimlated by the Defcon Collective?

Cody, nice collection !…..I agree with the previous poster…the hunt for sauces is more fun that simply picking them up on line….also I have made ” vacation ” trips to key west FL, just to visit peppers of key west…and there are many more stores out there. Ethnic Grocery stores are good spots as well

Nice collection Cody.

Hey Creator, you should come by Calgary in July for the Stampede. I am sure a DEFCON day during stampede would be grand. And have no fear. The first set of pints are on me.
