Yesterday I wsa excited when our inventory came in and I found the packaged of Dave’s Insanity Popcorn that I had ordered. So that’s what I had for dinner last night and I’ve lived to tell you about it. Honestly, Dave’s Insanity Popcorn is not something you have to really worry about on the heat scale. I’m not saying it doesn’t have heat, but it’s a different type of heat. My wife popped a kernel in her mouth and was fine for a few minutes, and then the heat her, but she was fine. So I know if she can handle it, almost anyone can! That’s why Sweat ‘N Spice will be giving away bags of Dave’s Insanity Popcorn with any order! Unpopped the bag looked harmless, but I was wary of the smell. Upon opening the plastic wrap the surrounds the bag, I could instantly smell the intense flavors. Our (small) kitchen was filled with the heated smell in a few seconds. And this was still unpopped! So I threw the bag in the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes - No need to burn something that might burn me back right?

While the popcorn was popping, I enjoyed the intense smell, but the wife and dogs ran away, so be warned, don’t pop in small kitchens!
You can see from the image above that the kernels came out with a nice even coating. On a typical heat scale I would say these are about a 5, the popcorn itself takes away from the heat, but you really don’t want to eat something hotter then a 5 without gloves anyways. That was my major worry about eating this popcorn, sticking my finger in my eyes. You see I have contacts and more then once I’ve almost sent myself to the hospital with a hot sauced eye. But alas, I’ve learned to wash my hands 5-10 times. After eating the popcorn I washed my hands twice and then twice again before taking out the contacts and the eyes are fine.
Overall rating 4 out of 5 Stars: Where else are you going to get a decently hot popcorn? This popcorn has a good flavor and it not too hot, so your family can enjoy with you.
