From your question, it seems that you are unaware of the dangers of canning a product that is not properly acidified. If you need a recipe, contact me back e-mailing Jamlady@Jamlady.com. I'm a newbie canner. I am seeking to can a home made hot salsa recipe. I'm using canned whole tomatoes for the tomato base. After mixing all salsa ingredients, do I need to boil this mixture in a sauce pan, prior to doing the hot jar boiling? Meaning, do I need to boil the entire salsa mixture in a saucepan, prior to boiling the filled sealed jars? any advice welcomed & appreciated. Thankyou. Advice needed on canning hot salsa.
