The Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival was held on August 28 in Austin. It does not sponsor the Houston Hot Sauce Festival held in September.

Pingback by The Hot Zone Online Blog » Visit With CaJohn - 3/30/2006 @ 11:32 am | [ Quote ]

[...] You would never know it, but the CaJohn’s hot sauce empire resides in an unassuming brown brick building in north central Columbus, OH. Joe stopped by to pick up a couple of hot sauce display racks, and struck up a conversation with CaJohn (a.k.a. John Hard) about various topics. John talked a bit about the perils of the FDA stopping in for a visit, competition at various Fiery Food Shows, the linguistic talent of Chris Tevis from Perfectly Pickled fame, and even a little about making his hot sauces. He even offered to let Joe help make some hot sauce in the Fall when all the peppers come in! Hey, a little “free” labor would be cool by us! [...]

Not sure what goes on on what days yet (buyt Friday is for trade business I think). I would not be getting a booth, just going to bother the poor slobs who have to work :D My brother is thinking about going also. I was going to check airfare and hotels this week.

Yeah I hear you. I think Blair will cap it at a pair of bottles each tops. There still has been no price point given on it. All we know is it is an all new monster bottle (holiday 04 large) (or monster creature) and that is a part one of three parter, where part 2 and 3 are halloween 06 and holiday 06. But that’s all we know :)

That’s what i figure too. I hope not too big a bottle, so hard to display. The old size was perfect with the case for displaying. But I’m sure Blair will make it interesting.

Well, you know how to find me, if that changes. I’d fly too, but I have some things I need to get to my bro, so I figured I’d just make it one long trip, and enjoy some time off.

Gonna see about getting a hotel tonite probably.

I was wondering about this new “monser bottle”. Is it gonna be his new reserve bottle or is this just a transition bottle into his new one. Or could be the 04 reserve type bottle like you said.

Looks like you can do it pmac,
although its up to customs and how innocent you look…lol

I won’t quote it, but thanks very much chrisk for the info. That was much appreciated. (now i hope he isnt setting me up LOL and i am only allowed 2 bottles)(i would be considered a main distribution) however…!!!!! If i do have to drink it all at the airport, i figure with that much consumption and that time frame, I could try to hold it for 3-4 hours and just “exhale” it back into the bottles and we might not even be able to tell the drop in strength or color. It’ll definately still smell the same LOL
OK have I gone too far yet hahaha.

I have been looking for information on the Zesty Best Amature Food Contest. I took first place in 2006 Mild BBQ Sauce catagory and have heard nothing from them since. All attempts to contact them have failed. I would appreciate any information you might have regarding their company and/or status I would really appreciate it. If this is totally in appropriate, I do appologize. I am just really frustrated.
