SPICE-EDELIC FLAVORS FIRE UP THE HOLIDAYS WITH
LIMITED EDITION KETTLEâ„¢ BRAND CHIPS GIFT PACK

- Fans Invited to Choose Favorite for 2008 -

SALEM, Ore. – Nov. 1, 2007 – Zesty blends of chilies and peppers with ginger and lime pop in a special Party Pack of limited edition Kettle™ brand Chips flavors as part of this year’s People’s Choice campaign. Dubbed “Fire and Spice,” the fourth annual People’s Choice event lets fans choose the next potato chip flavor to hit store shelves. Online voting begins Nov. 1, 2007 at www.kettlefoods.com with the winning flavor announced Jan. 14, 2008.

The People’s Choice Fire and Spice Party Pack includes five 5-ounce bags, one of each flavor up for vote, including: Wicked Hot Sauce, Mango Chili, Jalapeño Salsa Fresca, Orange Ginger Wasabi or Death Valley Chipotle. It’s available at www.kettlefoods.com for $14.95 plus shipping, and includes a fun guide to tasting each flavor, food and drink ideas to cool your palate between fiery flavors, voting ballots, stickers and more. The Fire and Spice Party Pack is a fun gift idea for the hard-to-buy-for people on everyone’s holiday list.

“Our fans have chosen some of our best-selling flavors in past People’s Choice campaigns, including Spicy Thai™, Tuscan Three Cheese, and Buffalo Bleu, but they kept asking us when we were going to do ‘hot’ flavors,” said Kim Sheridan, Kettle Foods’ Chief Flavor Architect. “We developed the Fire and Spice flavors for people looking for more than just mouth burn. The flavors tease the taste buds with unexpected complexity, like combining cayenne and habanero chilies with sweet mango and cinnamon.”

Sheridan describes flavors up for vote as:

· Wicked Hot Sauce: inspired by hot sauce, the cayenne pepper and vinegary tang flood taste buds with spicy heat.

· Mango Chili: sweet mango highlighted with a salty, spicy blend of cayenne and habanero chilies will have your tongue dancing the mango tango.

· Jalapeño Salsa Fresca: a blend of fiery jalapeño and spicy cayenne mellowed with soothing sun dried tomato, green bell pepper and lime flavors.

· Orange Ginger Wasabi: the punch of wasabi, a little ginger and a twist of citrus blend for a spicy Asian bite.

· Death Valley Chipotle: a smoky blend of red chili, cayenne, chipotle, habanero and herbs lays the foundation for this flavor’s slow burning heat.

Hey, I tend to love their chips (the Spicy Thai rules and their Organic Chipotle Chili Barbeque is pretty excellent as well) so this seems like a good bet. Ordering post-haste.

The Orange Ginger Wasabi does worry me a little, though.

One of my favorite companies for potato chips. I love the hard, loud crunch and their flavors are unique and flavorful.

Kettle Brand and Mama Zuma’s are among the best chips I’ve ever had - ordered a few sets to try out and see what all the spicy hype is about.
