It’s official, we have created the Hot Sauce Blog Forum in order to provide a place for the increased conversations here on the HSB.

The Boiler Room is now open for business. However, since the forum is brand new, please be sure to let us know what categories/features you would like to see there and we’ll make it happen. The goal of the Boiler Room is to bring ideas/conversations to the surface since they commonly get buried here in the comment threads.

However, please continue to post away with comments - just make sure to check out the Hot Sauce Blog Forum as well!

Have to go by and check it out- I certainly hope it has a ‘history’ so you can see what it is you’ve missed! Blog posting is going to take a serious hit I think.

Don’t worry about Huv, he would’ve found if he’d just stop staring at the horseradish on the mantle that he is supposed to EAT!!!

Hi Dan, well, we got rid of the entire batch in less than a day. Funny part is, NO ONE IS EATING IT! Like I said before, the wife told me not to number them…And I HATE it when she’s right.

Well, the good news is, I’ll probably be making up another batch of jars soon (as soon as I find time) and I’ll throw them into orders again.

Looks good the way it is, but if I just twist open the jar, I’d have to eat it.

Dan, the stuff is actually quite tasty. It’s not a ‘blow your face off’ heat, which to me serves no purpose (well maybe sometimes). It was meant to highlight the tastes of each. First the horseradish quick nasal scorch, and then the lovely long-lasting steady burn of the habanero. I could easily throw a lot more habanero into it, but it would overwhelm the hand-grated horseradish taste.

Sounds intriguing… looking forward to the next batch. I’m a horseradish junky. I eat it on most everything. Some of my favorite horseradish is this stuff I get in Lancaster PA from the Amish. It’s got qute a bite and the freshest taste I have ever had in a horseradish.

I usually get it from The Farmers Market but my parents were out that way last year in Intercourse and found the Famish farmer that produces it and bought it directly from him. I’ll have to go home and look at the jar to see what the name on it is. The one they got directly from the farmer had no label on it so I’ll have to see if my parents still have a jar from the Farmers Market.

Let us not forget the beautiful city of Bird in Hand. That is also in that same neck of the woods. Asa you can tell Chris, I have spent quite a bit of time out east. We have some very close relatives in Lancaster and I swear my Mother thinks she was a little Amish girl in another life :) She loves it out there and travels there 3-4 times a year. I love it when she brings me back some Sturgis Pretzels and Wilbur Bud Chocolates from Litiz.

One of the best beers I had from out there was Stoudt’s American Ale from Adamstown, PA. Not to mention the Yuengling Brewery right down the street from the mecca of outdoor stuff, Cabelas, in Pottsville.

Lancaster though, takes a little getting used. There’s the running joke, how can you tell an Amish girl from a Mennenite girl? The Mennenite goes to school on rollerblades.

So Creator, sounds like you’ve been to my neck of the woods a few times, Adamstown is right down the road.

Ahhh, the Yuengling Brewery, I have never been there but it isnt that far. My uncle just went 2 weeks ago and said you can tour the caves this year.
“In honor of our 175th Anniversary, the cave area is now opened during tours.”

They kick Hershey’s ass (also somewhat local) and you dont have to unwrap each one :-)

Dont tell huvason though cause he was just in Kutztown (only 16 miles) and I never managed to “meet up” with him. :-( Creator really isnt that far either, N Jersey is about an hour and a half, to an hour and 45 minutes with no traffic.

All I can say is if this were a sports event, a player would have been ejected tonight!

Takes all kinds. Its not that you’re a religious person that bugs either of us, we are tolerant of other people, its when people are not tolerant of us. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t worship “satan”, I for one don’t worship anyone or anything. 666 is funny and that’s why I chose that originally. Its a number, but people are all supersticious about it…kinda like there is no floor in a building numbered 13 because “its spooky and bad luck”. We all live in a world where people pride themselves on their tolerance of other people despite race, color, creed or religion, but we all know that we are all in one way or another prejudiced about something and afraid of what people will think of us if we do, say, or wear certain things. Deny it all you want, but what has transpired here tonight is proof of it.

eman, I am not offended by you being religious, or believing in god, or whatever your beliefs are, in my religion 666 is just a number and a pentagram is worn for luck, I do not believe in one god i believe in many, what offends me is I have to keep my mouth shut so I do not offend anyone with my beliefs. or your god forbid hate me because they believe falsely i am a satanist because i am pagan but i do not in anyway nor will i ever hold it against someone because they believe in god. go to church, and believe in heaven or hell. in any event this is not the place for this discussion and I apologize if I came across as being offended by your religion, as to the events with my husband, I had no idea what was going on until the middle of it all, and in the future please do not drag me into it, if i have something to say to him i will i do not hold my tongue when i think he is wrong, or should stop doing whatever he is doing. have a nice night.

Yeah, we have a Civil War shoot in Lancaster every year or so, and I do so love Cabela’s. The Yuengling caves sound intriguing.

yeah but I think the Creator now has a tricked out Mustang and could make it by you in less than an hour. I heard he powers his Mustang on Defcon Zero because he is concerned with the ecology…

Yes, the little blood red Mustang, my conjoined twin. Give it about another month and a half, and the work shall be completed. Ahhh, a Cabela’s road trip at Warp 9. What a rush!

As for being ZERO powered, I think it’s more the driver, the tank only has 114 octane.

Not just A hab, the concentrate of MANY of them.
I think I posted some recent events in the creation of the Batch #3 somewhere here. I’m beginning to take this Batch personally. I got an extract facial (thank God for goggles) from one of the distillation processes, including the inside of my nose, and more recently a 2nd degree cryoburn from the liquid CO2 we use as a shock catalyst on my wrist (it already turned black, so the new skin under it is coming along fine as per the St. Barnabas Burn Center). I guess it really is a true love of making this stuff, or maybe I really am into self-mutilation. I prefer the former of the two.

Unless you can do a 4X, you’ll have to count me out. I would love to have one to wear to Zest Fest this fall. I would take number 34 after my all time football hero Walter Payton. Please let me know if I can be part of this or not.
