Newman has thrown down a challenge to all the HSBers - show us your “Crib”. Using a digital video camera, his new computer and windows movie maker, Newman put the above video together and sent it in.
Now, to make this more interesting the HSB is going to sponsor another “Pimp Your Sauce” type of contest - but this time, it’s a “pimp” your collection contest. Essentially, you can use images or video to create a video entry of your collection - either in your home, office or elsewhere. Show us your stuff, a little about what makes you tick and maybe a little “day in the life of” a chilehead.
Entry Rules & Specs:
- Pimp your sauce using whatever you can find - you can even pimp around your sauce (stand, display, background etc…)
- Take a pictures or video and send them into nick ‘@’ hotsauceblog.com with the subject line: HSB Cribs
- Everyone can submit as many entries as they like, but only 1-2 entries per person will be selected for the final vote.
- The final vote: The HSB community will have the final vote on the top 5 - 10 entries. The entry with the most votes will recieve prize #1, the entry with the second most votes will receive number 2 and so on and so forth. There will only be 5 winners.
- All entry submissions must be received by 5/14 (that gives you 3 weekends to work) and final voting will be held the following week.
Prizes:
Still TBD - but I will say that we’re getting ready to move and I’ve got a few collector’s items ready to dontate - one of the prizes will be a 2006 Halloween Reserve and there’s plenty of other signed/limited items to throw into the fray. Also, if anyone would like to dontate to make the pot that much more interesting, just let me know.
To Make a Video
If you don’t have a digital video camera, don’t worry - you can still put together a video entry. All you need to do is take a series of pictures and string them together with Windows Movie Maker or other standard software such as that. And if you want help, just let me know - there are plenty of amature video makers on the HSB that would be more then willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow chilehead.

I did a TV spot a couple of weeks ago. And yes I talked about my hot sauce section. See that I said my Hot Sauce section

The video was great, its always nice to see how some of the “others” live and whats in their collection. Heck, at least you have room to live, Vic and Wendy had to move into a bigger house cause of their collection!
Really great job, I can’t wait to see the videos submitted by some of the folks around here. Nice idea.
