These guys are morons.
Don’t get me wrong, I totally get the Jersey Shots, I’ve done that.
But, rubbing it on your pooper and your pecker, WTF???
That is in no way impressive on any level. I’m all for inflicting pain with a hot sauce, but I mean come on, that’s some sensitive epidermus there and proves no point. Why don’t they just use battery acid or something and have it over with? What’s the point in that.
It really makes me shudder to think that Blair went to all that trouble to make a great tasting super hot, and someone rubs it on their weiner.
What a waste of bandwidth.

I have to agree with what a waste of bandwidth but I probably would have fallen out of my chair if ole’ Jewish there would have wiped his little head with the bread-than ate it!! Now that would be some dumb British shit. I half expected it at their mentality level.

I agree, a total waste of 4 or 7 minutes. (depends what you watched).

I hope the world does not think of these idiots as Chileheads…
I would hate to see us all be included in that group.

I think Gildo is right, let Defcon at em, give them that little vial he carries around in his pocket and watch them really squirm!

How about a total waste of ‘brainwidth’?? It is stupid stuff like this that will get some do-gooder beaurocrat to get even *MORE* regulations passed about chiles and that will eventually get passed on down to all you folks in the way of much higher prices for extract sauces and more limited availability. Not to mention that fact that a lot of producers would simply decide that it isn’t worth the hassles. Mr Lazar might be big enough to afford a good attorney, but few of the rest of us can.

Jim - That brings up an interesting point - would a maker/manufacturer be held liable in the case that someone hurt themselves by intentionally putting an extract where it shouldn’t go?

I sure hope not. Next thing you know there will be all kinds of warnings on those bottles. Its a shame, but manufacturers should NOT be held accountable for the idiotic things people do with their products.

Are you sure you didn’t miss a word? Why should a manufacturer of a food product be held responsible for people who misuse the product.

If someone ever got hurt putting some of my sauce in his eye, he probably deserved it.

I’m sick and tired of people not being responsible for their own actions and pointing fingers at other people because they got hurt and now they think they’re owed money for they’re own stupidity.

Yea but think of all the lawsuits that were WON over stupidity. Take the coffee incidient, the coffee is going to be HOT, unless ordered iced, it will cause BURNS if spilt or drunken to quickly. Common sense right? But it seems that stupidity wins for some unknown reason.

The Mrs. is good, not driving anyone mad yet.

As far as the liability aspect of things, in this case, these boys would be out of luck claiming they were injured by the product.
They were fully aware of what damage something rated at “a million scoville” as they kept repeating. They did it out of shear stupidity and any court in any country would see them for what they are. I’m sure the blisters that appeared on that morons anus the next day was a stern reminder of not to f*ck with Blair’s every again. Lesson learned, I hope.

Now, everyone should have their liability insurance paid up if they are in this business, for instances of improper usage (that’s not been videotape and broadcast on the web) and for accident detremental exposure.

We have an issue up here that happens every year, it’s called WINTER.
In winter, even though we pay for heated semi trailers to transport product, there is always the risk of product freezing.
Extract sauces have a tendancy to gas A LOT when they freeze and thaw.
We had a couple of instances this past winter with freezing, either consumers fault or trucking company, and one of our sauces gassed and sprayed the consumer upon opening the bottle.
Thankfully, even though the consumer was sprayed in the face, they weren’t seriously injured and called to let us know about the incident.
After investigating further the customer left the bottle in their vehicle all day and all night in -35 weather and then gave it as a Christmas gift. Well Merry Christmas. 300,000 SHU in the face. Ho ho holy crap that’s hot!!

Again, the liability insurance is a necessity for sure, but I feel that common sense and some level of intelligence are required when handling hot sauces and the consumer has to take responsibility for the handling.

Our lawyer has come up with an in store release for us to use when people purchase product for themselves or others over a certain heat level, and then people can do whatever they want, including rubbing it on their pee pee, I don’t care.
When people have to sign it, they kind of perk up and say, “can I have a copy of that”, I smile and say, “of course you can” because it makes them realize that they are purchasing something that is very close to being as hot as Bear Spray in some instances and they are now responsible for how it’s handled.

That being said, look at that old broad who dumped McDonald’s coffee on her crotch, somehow that’s Ronald McDonald’s fault??? WTF?

WTF do I know.

Well…it’s like walking up to a bull and kicking it in the hang-lows, then suing the farm where the bull lives ’cause you got hurt.

I didn’t say that it was right, I just don’t like greedy lawyers and the idiots who hire them.

I mean, geez…we make PEPPER SAUCE! It’s (more than likely) hot. What kind of idiot does the kind of stuff in these videos? Damn….er, geez… do they pour muriatic acid in their cuts too? Oh, wait…there’s a warning label on those too…

Warning: You were born, you will die. Don’t be stupid in between.

Sorry for the rant, but this kind of stuff ruffles my feathers…

“Held liable” is a different issue than “being sued”. You can unfortunately, be sued for *anything*! In my short business life, for no bigger than I am, I’ve been sued twice. Being held liable is an entirely different matter.

Lets say you walk down the street and randomly select 12 people. Put them in a room where ‘group think’ can run free and then ask them ’should I live or die?’. Do you *really* care to bet on the outcome?

Re: Now, everyone should have their liability insurance paid up

But that in and of itself is a two edged sword, U-Big! If you look at two folks, one who has several million dollars in liability insurance and one who has not a penny to his/her name, who is the lawyer most likely to go after? The one with the deeper pockets, ie the one with the better coverage. Sometimes having all the coverage is also an inventation to be targeted. I’ve always told my wife that our best protection against identity theft is the fact that if anyone stole it, they’d immediately want to give it back! :-)

You know what Jim, I’ve never looked at it like that, the two edged sword thing. That is a very interesting point to ponder.
Maybe I’ll just let my premiums lapse and see what happens???? Nah, probably no a good idea there.
That is something to think about though. The bigger the fish eh?

It is an interesting point to think about, however, as you all know every distributor/corporate store chain, etc. you talk to needs to see that certificate of insurance with them added onto it even before opening your samples. So it’s a necessary evil, as well. I think the key to protection is having an LLC or corporation (yuk) and taking profits out often, that is, if there ever is any! I STILL work for beer.
