Jungle Jim’s CaJohns Contest
Posted on 05.26.06 by Nick Lindauer @ 8:39 am | Comments: |
« « Previous | CSIGI Chili Sauce by Capsaicin Carnivale » »

This weekend CaJohn is doing a demo at Jungle Jim’s and Bret is giving away 2 signed items at the store. The contest is also being offered up to the HSB bloggers. A Sign 04 Lava dome and a Prototype Lady Liberty are up for grabs for the HSBers. All you have to do is guess how many CaJohn items Jungle Jims carries. Right amount or closest without going over will be the winner.

1 guess per person.
Ends Monday night.

Leave a comment with your official guess - no entries will be accepted via email or over the phone.

Last night, pmac wanted a flyer about Jim’s “Step Up for Charity” so he could hand it out to some local firehouses (or something like that). I bascially took the stuff off the web, and threw it together in a PDF for him (any anyone else who wants a copy). Sent it to Jim for his OK as well.

91, have to go with my first guess.

What is the time and date for this thing going on over there Bret? It’s possible Mandy and I will come over for it and hopefully we can all drink some liquor afterwards.

Also, if the date/time works out, perhaps I can meet up with Jim and bring his things over to you.

Let me know!

Bret, what we gonna do about those who show up tomorrow and try to count the items?

Assuming they can find them all…

Are they going to be allowed to enter the in-store contest as well?

Vic, I’ve got a Ram 2500 that it wouldn’t fit into either. Can you be there by tomorrow at 5:00 to help? Things have been crazy the last couple of weeks. All the retailers getting ready for the big summer start up this weekend signals. One of the things I find funny is that to many up north here this weekend is the “start” of BBQ season. It’s not an all year thing to many. Ends at Halloween if not before!

I have seen that trend also, being in the south I think it’s BBQ season just about all year; but our grills, charcoal, patio furn, etc. have just taken off in sales just these last two weeks or so. And we can’t keep the ground beef, ribs, & chops full in the cases!!

Yes- a lot of special buys and seasonal items, you will see it for Christmas also= early in / early out. That way we don’t get stuck with a lot of seasonal liabilities causing mark-downs.

I deal with over 350 vendors from all over the world. That includes manf like CaJohns and Blair’s. Some of them might only have 1 or 2 items all the way up to 5000 items. We have more small guys then big ones. That what make use diffrent than the big Nat stores. Evening everybody. I would like to take a moment to bring some much needed attention to something…Charity. We all know and love Jim Campbell. A man that dedicates his life to not only saving lives by being a firefighter, but the love of all things hot and spicy-something we can all relate to. Jim is trying to raise money for charities via “Step up for Charity”. In an effort to support Jim in his fund raising efforts, an auction has been placed on ebay. 100% of the proceeds of this auction is going to Jim’s charity fundraiser account set up by Nick here on the HSB. However, no attention is being brought to this auction here on the HSB. The winner of this auction will recieve 2 great collector’s bottles of sauce. One is a limited addition by the Hot Sauce Underground (signed by all 4 members), the other is a signed bottle of Backdraft from Jim Campbell himself. Included is a custom made “Box of Fire” display case to hold the bottles. Please, for charity’s sake, check out the auction, place a bid. The item number on Ebay is 4466025256. If you have any questions regarding this, you may contact Tracy C. Thank you for your attention to this and for helping out Jim with his charity work.

Ryan, I appreciate you mentioning this auction. Out of respect for Nick, Tracy refrains from directing any attention to our store from the blog. This auction, however, is a group effort by members of the HSU to benefit “Step Up For Charity.” I would love to see the members of this blog rally support for Jim’s efforts.

Woohoo, I love my lady Ms. MandyCane!

Bret, we have your card placed somewhere here that you gave us at the IN Hotluck. Good meeting you there and unfortunately we didn’t make it down Saturday as we had planned to. Found out that morning my cousin and her boyfriend from Texas had come into town last minute for the race so we hung out that day/night.

We’ll be in touch and thanks in advance! Hope the festivities were a good time as I imagine they were.

“We also have a reception Hall and in the future we are going to hold are on Hot Sauce Show. Next year I hope.”

Bret, just keep me in the loop when you are planning this event, I haven’t been in Ohio since 1971 when we lived in Columbus.
