The final winners of the first Pimp Your Sauce Contest have been determined. I spent a few hours going over all the data and in the end came out with numbers that really didn’t reflect the final votes you may have saw. I also took into account the # of registered users that voted for each entry and cast my final vote as well.
The Winners:
1 - Entry 4 by eman
2 - Entry 7 by Jim c
3 - Entry 6 by huvason
4 - Entry 15 by Wendy & Vic
5 - Entry 12 by Ryan
6 - Entry 3 by DK
7 - Entry 1 by Adam G
8 - Entry 2 by Chile Chef
9 - Entry 14 by TTP
10 - Entry 13 by Tracy
If you are on the list above, please contact me and we will get your bottle shipped out ASAP. If your on the list and do not contact me within 5 days, your prize will be sent to the next in line. If your on the list and do not want the bottle, let me know and I’ll pass it on to the next in line again.
If I see any of these bottles on eBay or hear about them being sold for a major profit (remeber these are free to you) you will not be allowed in any future contests and will be removed from all collectors lists and updates. This contest was about having fun as a chilehead and set up just for that purpose.

If i had any dubious ip addresses all I can think is that sumone out there was trying to make me look fraudulent! ![]()
Wow. That is very different indeed. The top 2 not even in the top 10? Congrats to the winners and sorry to all the rest.
Great JOB Nick!!!
I would like to clarify for a comment on the entry thread about #2 and #4 being similar. #2 was completed well before #4 was ever on the website so it was not a matter of seeing someone and bettering it, it was their own idea 100% (Once again Chili Chef is not me of course, but I had the privledge of seeing a picture of it well before it was online)
Good Job, and Congratulations to all the winners!!! Cudos to Nick for making it what it should be!
THANK GOD IT’S OVER!

I agree pmac - thanx Nick - this could not have been easy. Thanx to all who voted.
Yeah thanks Nick, I know this must have been difficult
P.S. Nick, for the love of GOD PLEASE close the entry thread it is too big LOL>
For all that is good and evil, I beg of you!

Congrats to all the winners. There were some great contributions!!!
Interesting. I think it turned out as well as it could have. Good job Nick! Huvason know that you got my vote. I thought it was hilarious and much thought was put into it ![]()
Well done to all the winners and commiserations to those who didn’t win this time around.
Good work Nick - certainly was an excellent comp!

THANX Aaron. Spent a full day trying to find a small hemlet for it!
Nick…. I want you to have the “Nickalacky” (you can’t have the Humunculus though, it’s gone again
) - or the cat, my daughter took it.
Anyway it’s all done now and what great advertisement for the blog
MattUK sorry you did not win, but I think it may hav something to do with the confusion of the rabbit you used and saying it was a gerbil or something like that ![]()
I certainly hope no animals were harmed during the filming of that sequence.
The whole gerbil thing
hehehe j/k

Before folks start complaining and bugging me about their entries, the final factor in the voting outcome was the number of registered votes (from commentors here on the HSB) that each entry got. Each of these votes was given a weight of 10 - which made a huge difference on entries like #13 for which all 15 votes were registered users.
Whew! Thanks again to Nick for putting up with the craziness that this contest created, and a BIG thanks to the chileheads who voted for #13. Without you guys, I couldn’t have finished last! Haha
:)

Thats ok pmac. Just a bit gutted. Hope my original comments didn’t offend anyone. It’s just been a really bad week. Less than 3 weeks to exams now too
It is just a very obese guinea pig called Poppy - she wasn’t harmed, she quite liked it - I had to feed her to keep her still and thats possibly why
At least she’s been seen around the world now (not many guinea pigs can squeak about that)
If only I could have got a better picture
Hey Defcon! I had emailed someone in the past in ref to the helmet. I thought that I sent the email to you, but it was Jim C. Sorry, wasn’t trying to ignore you.
The helmet and boots come from a LE G.I. Joe, that was on the market approx 4yrs ago. It also has airpack and supply hose, full turnout gear etc… Very cool with realistic details. Good luck in finding these items! They are high dollar items now.

Be glad its over ![]()
Yes, good job Nick and let’s all put this in the rear view!
I just wish my “Pimpin HOt Sauce” Made it into the top 15 but it didnt. ![]()
Lame. All I can say is lame. People spent a lot of time and effort on there entries, and on getting people to vote (after Nick said it was allowed) and now that work counts for nothing. What an incredible disappointment. I know Nick had to put up with a lot of crap throughout this last week, and he’ll probably continue to do so… But from now on, post the rules in the beginning, and then stick to them. Don’t add things like vote weighting at the last minute. I could have saved myself a lot of time, effort, and headaches over the past week.
Lame. Thanks for the contest and the opportunity, but no thanks. In hind sight I wish I hadn’t entered.

Agreed, this should be put behind us and congrats to the winners !!!
But for what it’s worth, congrats to the winners. All the entries were great, so I have no doubt the people who won deserve such a great addition to their collection. I just don’t like the way the rules were so fluid.

If you don’t like the outcome, you can just stay off this blog and then you will have nothing to worry about. My 2 entries didn’t even make the top 15. I guess I should be on here bitching, but no I just said congrats to the winners and I will wait for the next contest to try my luck. This is my last post to deal with this contest. Over and out.
Has anyone received there vintage collection yet???

I have no argument with who made the top 15 (although I think there were some on the recent post of runner-up’s that were more deserving) because it was stated up front that Nick was choosing those 15. Fine.
But the rules were changed mid-contest. Not cool.

I just got an email on my Vintage set yesterday. I actually screwed up my CC number -that’s why my card never got charged all week (it was driving me crazy hearing how everyone was getting theirs). I need to call Karin on Monday to resolve.

Seems it was ok someone was criticized for “complaining” about the votes, but now it’s ok to complain about the results? C’mon. it all worked out in the end. Congrats to ALL that participated, regardless of who won what. That includes you also Ethan. You entry is very cool. i really ejoyed seeing another entry that used a lighting technique as I didn’t get mine to work well in the pics.
I think all but one entrant resorted to campaining at some point, so we know what you mean about working hard on that part. We were all treated fairly in the end as far as he caimpaign votes went, so even the winners lost out in that aspect.
Huge kudos to Nick for putting up with all of us in this thing and making a tremendous effort to make it fair for everyone!

Hey, pmac did you happen to get a look at that display case??? I found another one I am going to use with the vintage collection, it should fit all five bottles in it with flames in the background and it is lighted.

huvason, maybe you will get mine, I had to cancel my order due to a financial situation that came up after the initial order. Karin said I was within only a few hours of having my card charged, so it was truly a last minute (heart wrenching) decision. Good to see that they are gonna square it with you instead of moving on to the next person.

I think it’s fine to complain about the votes. I think Ryan was/is dead wrong, but he’s certainly entitled to his opinion. It’s not the results I’m questioning, it’s the method used to arrive at the results. Last night, my entry was way down the list. I never thought I would win, so I’m not complaining about the fact that I lost. I’m complaining about the fact that Nick set down rules, a few people complain, and they were CHANGED MID-CONTEST. That’s the issue here, and I think it needs to be addressed. Weighting votes is fine, IF it’s part of the rules in the beginning.
I’m sorry, but I think this is something that shouldn’t just be dropped. I’m not calling for a revote or something ridiculous like that. I’m not asking for anything that would personally benefit me. Just a fair contest, which means rules that are set and followed.

I think you need to send to Nick for a picture (or maybe the blogmaster junior - chris
)
Otherwise post a link to a pic, but I think links need approval.
The case for the 1993 bottle can be found in an e-bay store collectible supplies and the case for the vintage collection I also found on e-bay in their store southwest custom woodwork designs. This case is 17L X 9H x 6D, so I hope these botlles are 7 to 8 inches tall

If it goes to a copyrighted image, then would probably be a good idea to get approval from the pic owner. If it is your pic, then host it on your own space and link all you want. Links are an allowable tag, just so long as copyrights are not infringed upon.
A link to the site the image resides on is usually the best bet if it is not yours.

It seems all well and good for you to say that it all worked out in the end….i believe that is because you were in the top 10. Im not so sure you would be saying it all worked out if you had been a shoe in for one of the top numbers at the close of the competition but then found that your votes had all been void because of some serious change of rules to those stated at the beginning of the week.

Just to clarify, there was never a rules change. Nick only clarified how he was watching for double votes. He never made any comments about vaote campaigning, assumptions were made based on those comments, but that was all. So don’t blame Nick for any rules changes. He did his best to keep it fair for everyone. Nick only had three comments in the whole thread that I could see, #3, #6, 7 #33. All related only to double votes.

Well, I got an email or two to Nick to prove you wrong. But that info is between me and Nick for the time being. My whole point from the beginning was that the attention should have been towards the entries, not the votes. Mine was hosed from day one, none of my pics were worth a crap. I was tickled as anyone to even be in the top 15. All entrants, win or lose, were subject to the same final judgement. Mine just happened to fall into the top ten. I never expected it to. So, yes, I was suprised to see it this morning, but all of my statements from day one are the same, coming from near last place or sitting in the top ten.

There I go again quoting myself, I was suppose to be quoting you huvason. Guess it is time to go cut the lawn and get off this computer for awhile. Later all……
There could have been thousands of different ways to lay out the rules in this contest. Anyone who has ever promoted a contest, is well aware of the fact that not everyone is going to be satisfied with the way he/she conducts a particular contest. Hopefully Nick will not kill me for this comment, but here goes anyway.
If after observing and honestly, without bias, evaluating this contest from beginning to end, submit your DETAILED perfectly laid out rules for the next contest to Nick. Seriously folks, take time off of your job, school, family or what have you, develop a “plan”, and present your proposal to the “chairman of the board”..Don’t complain about what has been, just be PROACTIVE and submit the perfect solution for the next time..TC

Good idea Tracy, maybe Nick will agree. There were a couple of good constructive ideas in the other thread that would warrant some review if presented in an official manner.

If the emphasis was on the entries and not the votes then it wud have stopped this whole upset over the top ten. A lot of people have been left disheartened by the whole competition. If Nick is so sure with his final top 10 he would not object to posting the amount of qualifying votes each entry received!

Awesome idea, seems everyone including myself has views on the way this competition could have been handled. There is never going to be a totally unbiased way of conducting a competition, because whoever is in charge will always has some emotion tied up with one if not more entrants. The one way this whole thing would most certainly have been avoided is for the rules for public voting to have been clearly laid out before the voting began. Im sure if Nick had made everyone aware that HSB bloggers weight for voting was more significant, then people would have got around that. But then there is the case of having some sort of panel i.e the votes of the people on the top 20 commentors list will be the ones who’s votes hold the extra 9 points weighting or brian, defcon creator, nick, cajohn, as these were the ones that did not enter the competition (as far as I can see) and so would be the most unbiased!!
Have a Great Day! I must go attend to my life for a few hours..See ya!

“now that work counts for nothing. What an incredible disappointment.”
“I could have saved myself a lot of time, effort, and headaches over the past week”
Sorry to hear you “wasted your time” Ethan. Guess you need to learn what chilehead spirit is all about. See most true chileheads entered the contest of of sheer love for the cause. That desire that brings them to HSB everyday to read, share, voice, and argue their opinions. They did it out of love for something they love to invest their time in, not just for a “prized” bottle of sauce. Yes, that sweetened the deal for them but “losing” wasnt losing at all. Each and every one of them walks away a winner. Lookat all the time and posts these people have here and then think before you speak. If you truly believe you wasted your time, then we all here are at no great loss if you leave disappointed. If however you feel your comment was made out of anger and you really do have some “spirit”, HSB welcomes you and will help that grow.
Sure hot sauce is great, but some things in life are so much greater. Just stop and look around sometime, cause the best things in life cant be bought or won. When you find what Im talking about, you will know and it will make you smile. If you dont believe, ask me sometime and I can tell you. ![]()

Well said Chris. Well said.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! or afternoon to those of you drinking beer already
Nick thank you for trying so hard to make everything as fair as possible. to those of you that want an unbiased opinion, well Nick did his best to do that by only announcing certain things he was looking for, the police hold back evidence in big cases so they know when they have the right perpetrator (sp?) anyway, many people are disapointed in the outcome, many more surprised by it, and the ones that are surprised in my humble opinion deserve to win, TracyC congrats you deserve that bottle, I think all of us learned a valuable lesson that we need to remember for future contests. sorry I rambled on I hope I made my point.

Before you read this, I want you to know that I read your comment from start to finish three times. And I am thinking before I speak. I have no “cause” to further. I don’t want to “grow” here. You all (and I do mean all) seem like great folks. I don’t post much, but I’ve been a loyal reader and visitor for several months now. I never meant my comments to come off as personal attacks at Nick, and I hope he didn’t take them that way. I in no way wish to undermine for even a second the hard work he puts in here.
Heck, just to dream of running a contest like this, he must have balls the size of pumpkins.
But you can take you warm, fuzzy advice and, well… I don’t want or need it. Everyone entered the contest for different reasons. You have yours and I have mine. Don’t think for a second that our reasons are the same. They obviously aren’t.
I had a splendid time working on my entry. I had a few friends over and we put in a lot of work and had a great time. I don’t regret making the entry. But I regret sending it in. I could have made it, enjoyed myself, then added the bottle to my collection and moved on. But I sent it in. Then Nick said this:
“Guys - As I’ve told some of you, the competition is as fair as I can make it and still leave it open to the community. Yes, people can ask friends and family to vote for their entry, but so can you (if your in it) – so in that sense, it is fair. It’s not the number of people you know but the number of people you know that are willing to spend the time to vote for you. All in all, you are driving traffic to the blog and bringing this community to a larger audience, so it’s all good.”
Now, to me that means soliciting votes is allowed. Great. So I spend the better part of week campaigning. It was miserable, but I did it to attempt to stay in the competition and add a prized bottle of sauce to my collection. Not for personal growth or this cause you speak of.
So, as you might have guessed, I’m upset that suddenly my hard work (getting votes) was wasted. You might not care that I’m upset, and that’s fine. Move along. But what I’m trying to say is that I believe there was a flaw in the way the contest played out. Was it Nick’s fault? Was it the whining voters during the contest? I’m not placing blame on any one person’s shoulders, especially not Nick’s. But I think if anymore contests are going to be run here, this issue should be addressed.
Saying “If you don’t think like the vocal few of us, leave the blog” isn’t going to solve the problem…

No use me coming back to this site as it appears only registered members are valued. There should have been a restriction to prohibit unregistered members from voting or a clear explanation up front. Ladies and Gentlemen, please let others feel welcomed no matter what there opinions are. I want to have 100 consistent posters, not 25.
When you see somebody new, say HI. Invite them to share their thoughts. Try not to ignore them. They are important to the continued success of this site.
This contest was fun to watch from the sideline. Not entering was probably the best for me. I would have been just as focused as Ethan was in the competition. Losing always sucks. He did his best and feels jagged by the outcome of his efforts. I think rightfully so.
I think sometimes when a regular poster responds to an angry post, having 3 or more other regular posters agree and say how great the response was only makes the new person feel like the entire site is against them. We shouldn’t do that.
As many of my views differ to many of you, I will never stop being who I am. If this contest only gave 10 great bottles to 10 great entries, it wouldn’t be a success. If the contest brought 5 new people to the site to be regulars, feeling welcomed and making this the first and last thing they do in the day…then you all are winners.

I know, not a HUGE link, but it is there. Actually, all those links go to SNS, just different areas of the site. The first one gets you to the homepage.

I’m going to use Muso’s extract in the steaming water and some Creole spicy mixed with Nitro and butter and the dipping.
Can’t wait until tomorrow for the adventure to begin.

If the contest brought 5 new people to the site to be regulars, feeling welcomed and making this the first and last thing they do in the day…then you all are winners.
most of us do say hi, he isn’t coming back because of how Nick handled the contest NOT because of something a reg poster did or said. If he is mad about the way the contest was handled it’s something he needs to take up with Nick not throw a tantrum at us.

Well said thak (notice the lowercase T
) My opinions differ from others a lot of the time as well, as you’ve all seen. I don’t mind people making posts that let us all know how they feel, again, that is something I am guilty of as well. The one thing I have to say about it all is that everything needs to end at some point, both good and bad, that’s just the nature of things. On the other hand, some things should end sooner than others. I think this last week has brought out the worst in some of us. To perpetuate that is just wasteful.
Anytime that a large group of people come together, “clicks” will be formed. This is no different than high school. This is an eclectic group of people with, as stated many times, different opinions and strong feelings that don’t always go along with everyone else’s. In regards to new people joining this group, it helps nobody’s cause for anyone, new or old, to start slinging carp, but friends will stich up for friends which is where new people have a bit of a disadvantage. Mr. Freeze for example (not trying to get you involved in anything) is a great example of what new and old bloggers have done to welcome people.
Any contest is going to have people that win, and those that don’t. Its fine to make suggestions to possibly improve things, but to come out and rag on Nick because he ran HIS contest the way HE wanted is not right. Its not for us to decide. I made suggestions, I let everyone know how I felt, I even spoke to Nick in e-mail. I played by the same rules that everyone else did. At no point did Nick say that the campaigned votes didn’t count, so it was not all a waste.
I can’t speak for everyone, but my feeling, and I know it’s felt by others, is that we want this community to grow. The more people that participate, the more information that can be exchanged, the more traffic to this site and SNS, the better. But Nobody should expect a warm welcome when their first few posts are nothing more than angry spew.
As some have stated, you can’t just walk into a bar that you’ve never been to (or in this case posted), say things in an effort to upset people and expect to walk out on your own. There’s two old sayings that apply very well to this whole situation… “Your reap what you sew” and “You can’t please everyone, so you’ve got to please yourself”.
Those of you out there that think highly of Blair, should remember what he is all about…Karma. We all get what we deserve in the end.
Jim Campbell has expressed many words of wisdom throughout this ordeal, few seem to be taking any of it to heart. There’s a man that puts a real good perspective on things.
CaJohn knows what it is REALLY all about when it comes to being a true chilehead and very few of us match that (myself included, but I’m learning).
MSK had the right idea by just staying out of it all together. He wasn’t in the contest so he just ignored the crap.
The above mentioned people may be hot sauce manufacturers/legends, but they are also regular people like the rest of us. They represent the best of what is in all people and set a great example to follow. Not because they’re in the industry, but because they get it, they know what is really important in life…this isn’t.
There is more to learn here than just stuff about hot sauce, people can learn about life in general. If anyone is offended by this drawn out statement, I’m sorry that you feel that way. Disregard who is saying, but think about what is being said. And lastly, this is NICK’s blog and Nick will have the final say in anything and everything that happens on his blog. If you feel the need to spew about things, go right ahead, but don’t expect a warm response from everyone. I never do. I really hope that everyone has a great day with more to come and that this crap ends soon. What’s done is done and there’s no changing it.

That was not a tantrum, I just stated that it appeared to me unregistered members were not valued. That is the way it appeared to me as I voted in the contest and it seemed to me that unregistered voters were being linked to voting fraud. I did not mention anything about regular posters or posters in general. My comment was directed at the site. I had a suggestion that the rules should have been posted up front. If I had seen that registering was required I might have registered. I have contributed a bottle of homemade sauce here and stop by from time to time. I was unaware registering was required to be considered a contributor (seriously). I thought this was a blog and have not seen many blogs that require registering (apart from leaving comments).
One could consider the possibility that folks stop by here to see posts and related pepper related info, participate, but do not register (the number of places we are all registered in general is staggering… ). If we, as unregistered folks stopping by, choose to participate in something it would be nice to know up front what the requirements are. When I read that registered voters were being considered and subsequent posts that voting fraud was suspected it made me feel that my vote as an unregistered voter was being perceived as part of the problem. As I mentioned before this was avoidable (make it so only registered members can vote).
I think that objectively looking into how to improve the process has the potential to make the results better next time. Explaining in reverse how it was handled just the right way or defending how it was handled without looking at the possibility it could have been handled better, in my opinion, will not bring the best results in the future. I am not mad… I don’t have a horse in this race. I just wanted to post my feelings on how I perceived the way it was handled, my comment that there was no need for me to return to the site was meant to convey the way I felt isolated by the way my vote was discounted and the implication that by voting as unregistered my vote did not matter. I hope my thoughts were conveyed a little clearer with this post. It is not my intention to flame or start a controversy, I just wanted to post my thoughts and felt compelled to respond to the inference I threw a tantrum. I can’t remember who said it but there was a quote… “If we don’t learn from our mistakes, we are doomed to repeat them”. Sincerely,
Tim

Hey all- just got home from work- Congrats to all the folks who took part in all aspects of this contest- no matter your feelings, the outcomes, the comments- Nick did “ONE HELL OF A JOB”!!!! he did this for us- no charge, came up with an overall idea, set some guidelines, tracked it, did all the friggen work and it’s tainted with bitching and moaning. Sorry this is the first rant I’ve had but I feel it comes from the heart, and it pisses me off that people feel they have to rain on someone elses parade and say crappy things. If you don’t like the rules, if you don’t like the game, and if you don’t like the people- go make your own blog!! set your own game, your own rules- if not=

Saying “If you don’t think like the vocal few of us, leave the blog” isn’t going to solve the problem…
no one cares anymore.

Sorry to quote so much at once, but I’m going to get this out of the way in one post. I’m not going anywhere, and I’m not going to harbor any hard feelings after this. I’m still smiling too, just not about this contest. I’ve said my piece, and it was nice to see that a few people actually read my posts and had some genuine replies to them.
In the end, I finally agree with Ryan
It’s Nick’s show, I’m just along for the ride. And thanks for letting me hitchhike, Nick. This is still the coolest hot sauce site around. Enough is enough. Several of you all have said there is more to life than hot sauce, and I agree. But if there is a place to vent frustrations about the contest, this is the thread. If you don’t want to read about it, then just don’t read. I’m tired of stuff like “No one cares anymore” because obviously someone does…
But I think I’ve vented enough, and I’ve attempted to make my point. Thanks for listening. And thanks for the hard work and putting up with the crap, Nick.

40 in the contest /15 in the vote=25 /4 shown did not make it=21 left to be seen. 21 or more (ie friends/family)people put alot of time and work that still needs to be shown. Looking forward to seeing over half of the entries

Thanks, looks like I’ll start my digging on Ebay.

Tim, Nick gave registered voters an inflated vote IE registered bloggers were worth 10 votes, he did not discount unregistered voters unless he suspected fraud.
Hi all, sorry to bring this all up again….I’m still really gutted!!…nobody shout at me please……I just want to clear up that I did not cheat in anyway…..If you didn’t know I was entry #8 that went from second place to out of the top 10.
This was due to 130+ of my votes being removed due to ’suspected’ voting fraud, due to them having the same c-block on the ip address. I know Nick cannot change the result, but I thought I’d just let you all know the reason. Many of my friends are at university, therefore the explanation for the same c-block is that many of my friends have voted for me from their university accounts, on one of many hundreds of computers (as it’s exam time and people are revising). So the reason for me having so many votes with similar ips is due to my friends voting - (they all wanted to see me drink Tabasco if I came in the top 10).
I do see this as unfair as it was allowed in the rules, but that’s the way life is sometimes, so I’m going to have to live with it. It was Nick’s competition and he can do what he sees fit.
I would like to thank the few people who have, by one way or another contacted me (I will not give names, maybe later
)

Beating a dead horse…
Soar loser…That is how you are coming across. Say it as many times as you want. It still comes out the same. Reply to this I don’t care, it will be in vein I wont read your post in the future. A wise man once asked, “Is there a way to prevent seeing certain peoples posts” God I wish i had forsight, I should not have bashed him then![]()
I’m not trying to be rude here, but I have a feeling you will read this. My last post tried to tie up my feelings about this and let it go, and I think everyone else saw that. I’ll say it again: obviously, someone does care. I may be the only one, but I’m still easy proof that your statement couldn’t be more wrong.
There’s nothing wrong with a little discussion and debate. And it’s not off topic here, I’d say. Call me names all you like, it doesn’t bother me. I’ve tried to keep my posts here as civil as possible. Several people have replied to me in the same manner and I greatly appreciate that.
And I don’t think “beating a dead horse” even applies here. As I’ve said: I’m not asking for this contest to be altered, I don’t think I was even in the running before the vote weighting, yet alone after. It’s just discussion and debate, and concern for any future contests (if Nick ever decides to have anymore…)
If nothing else, this contest has moved me to post here the HSB. Even if some folks don’t like it ![]()

(OK not plenty of time, but i’m kind of burnt out after this week, plus the NFL draft is in 46 minutes! )
I found a place that sells a set of three bobble head display cases for @25.50 + $12.95 shipping (approx $13 a case with shipping) it’s 9×4 1/2 x 4 1/2. they sell one for 9.50 - but shipping was still $12.95.
The one ebay is $15 + 6.50 shipping = 21.50

“now that work counts for nothing. What an incredible disappointment.”
“I could have saved myself a lot of time, effort, and headaches over the past week”Sorry to hear you “wasted your time” Ethan.

” If you truly believe you wasted your time, then we all here are at no great loss if you leave disappointed. If however you feel your comment was made out of anger and you really do have some “spirit”, HSB welcomes you and will help that grow.

Can’t wait to see it thakswet. I took a little inspiration from you and did the seafood thing myself today. No crab legs though. Cold boiled shrimp and a salad. Spiced up the cocktail sauce with some Fatalii Fire, man that did the trick without getting complicated. Bane of the Internet? (link removed - no further flinging necessary) - Wow that’s real nice of you. Glad you appreciate all the work and cost that went into putting on this free contest. Don’t be bitter - one of the first rules was no cheating and every entry cheated (minus one) so other rules had to be implemented otherwise there would be no contest. Maybe that would make everyone happy.
Good afternoon Uber-Nick, LOL!
Don’t let the pseudo-biped roast your nuts man. I had said repeatedly that BS like this would threaten the future of “free” contests. Don’t let it happen. It’s kinda funny, no one forced anyone, or “charged” anyone to enter the contest, but it seems a few are never satisfied with the outcome, yet they still enter more of them. Do yourself and most of us a favor, keep placating the the self-mutilators and have more contests. Honetstly, the whining is funny to read. Please don’t let it affect your grey matter. A VAST majority of us enjoy entering, if not just watching the creativity of others, not to mention laughing at the lack of understanding of some individuals have regarding the amount of personal effort that is put into a contest. This lack of understanding only shows the world that the individual attmpting to berate you is in possession of an extra chromosome. Keep up the good work!

Sorry for the delay but this whole project required way more effort than I ever thought and I wanted to make sure that the labels (Some that are 17 years old) Reproduced to my liking. Next week I will put up Each and every Label on extremefood.com with the story behind it. I Honestly Hope you Enjoy your Bottles as much as I do….Feel Alive Your Chilipal Blair.

You have such a way with words, Creator!
I have to say, even though I wasn’t happy with the results (obvious by now, I would think :-)), I really do appreciate how much time and effort Nick put in.

On the chileheads list many years ago, a similar insult was leveled. Most of the entire list took up the name as a badge of honor and a way to laugh it off

Boy, I think I missed something. Or maybe not? Anyway, Nick, I don’t think anyone “cheated” in the true sense of the word, but just took off with a misinterpretation of the rules, me included.
As Ethan said, your time and effort to put this thing on is greatly appreciated! And to quote pmac, you are The Man, so thanks for putting up with us here on the (your) HSB.

The only thing I’m aware of as a prob was the duplication of votes from a single IP which can happen for multiple legitimate reasons, but were eliminated due to the potential for abuse. That is the only potential cheating I’m aware of. Maybe I missed something too DK.

Still, maybe I should not have commented but followed my own advice -’put it in the rear view’.
