If you are in the Manhattan area today, pick up a copy of the NY Post. Blair & I were asked to tour around the city and sample what have been deemed some of the ‘hottest’ dishes they could find. You can see in the 2 page article that we had a good time touring around, although the dishes were not nearly hot enough - with the exception of the extract curry from Brick Lane Curry House.

The article is also available online. NY Post

To quote Chris Farley from the movie Tommy Boy…”Holy schnikey!!!” That’s a great article, Nick! Wish I could have come along to witness it myself in person.

“When your stomach starts to burn, it’s good…But it’s not going to be good tomorrow.”

That article was great. And that’s one of the best chilihead quotes I’ve heard in a long time. So very true.

Awesome - the phaal sounds like it might warrant a trip to NYC.

Tom - I’m pretty sure they kicked it up another notch for Blair & I - there was that distinct taste of capsaicin, but they claimed they don’t use any. I’m sorry but no curry tastes like that.

Next time you see Blair, ask him why he misspelled the word spicy on his homepage twice. Blair is the king of Spicey stuff. Just wanted to point this out. This gets to me every time I visit his website.

Hey congrats mang, too cool!
Sorry to hear about your spam attack, they suck. Actually, it’s more than sucky. But I don’t care to get that enraged at the moment!

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE DISH IN QUESTION WAS MADE WITHOUT CAPSAICIN. RECENT TESTS ON CHILE PEPPERS IN INDIA ARE THE HOTTEST ON RECORD, ACCORDING TO A WELL KNOWN SCIENTIST.

Pete - It’s not the heat of the dish we are questioning, it’s the taste. There’s a distinct taste that comes with capsaicin extract & that dish definately had extract in it. They never mentioned any peppers in the dish, just curry powder.

Hey next time you and Blair come into NYC, give me a shout. I know some great places - There’s this bar called the Z Bar and they have the hottest wings I ever had in my life there - and I eat some pretty hot stuff. I got my local into making Death Wings

Mad - I live in NYC & Z Bar does have some great wings! For this article we decided to avoid the wing route and tried to find other spicy dishes in the city though.

MMMMMMM. I just got back from Tijuana Flats for lunch. I love their burritos. Thats my kind of place. The place has its own hot sauce bar. Pick what kind of sauce you want to put on your food. Now im hungry again.
