Review: Bandana Bill’s Raspberry Chipotle Sauce

« « Previous | Recipe: Five Pepper Salsa » »

Bandana Bill's Raspberry Chipotle SauceIngredients: Organic Raspberries, Organic Vinegar, Organic Sugar, Organic Apple Juice, Water, Organic Chipotle, Organic Tapioca, Organic Garlic, Sea Salt, Organic Cayenne, Organic Paprika. GLUTEN FREE.

Label: Not much other description, but there’s a great shot of Bill, just sittin’ there, starin’ out at ya. He looks pretty happy in that bandana, though. Bet he has to be careful where he goes… a guy could get shot for wearing that in the wrong neighborhood!Bandana Bill's Raspberry Chipotle Sauce

Appearance: Very nice color! Pours a little thin.

Smell: Very thick raspberry smell. There’s no hint of the vinegar at all, nor is there any hint of chipotle.

Taste: Huge raspberry flavor! I’m not really into raspberries, so I probably didn’t enjoy this sauce to its fullest. I can see this being good on white meat, though, like pork chops or chicken (organic, of course!) Note, though, that the chipotle seems only to appear in spirit - don’t go in expecting a fiery sauce. This might be good on ice cream, too!

Conclusion: Great, all-natural sauce! If you enjoy a sweet, fruity sauce, and choose raspberry tartlets from the dessert menu, this is the one for you! I can certainly appreciate the organic ingredients, and I believe they add to the authentic flavor of this sauce. I would, though, love to see this kicked up a notch or two in heat…

I have had this sauce, I’m not to much of an organic person, and if I hadn’t read the label I would not have been able to tell you that it was made from organic items, however this is a well balanced sauce and it glazes onto grilled chicken breasts beautifully. I took the breasts and julienned them and laid them onto a bed of baby greens with strawberrys and cajun blackened pecans, with just a little red onion and a chipolte ranch dressing, Yummmmm!

This sounds nice I like raspberries. Nice review. Wouldn’t mind trying it on chicken like Cheffy says above
