I knew there was a review done for this quite some time ago so I begrudgingly threw it back in pantry for a bit.
Ingredients: Fresh Carrots, Selected Red Peppers, Fresh Onions, Key Lime Juice, Garlic Salt.
Noticed I put the ingredients list up first for this review. Good thing I didn’t forget it about the sauce in the back of the pantry. No vinegar in here so I wasn’t sure how long I could keep it fresh. There was a best before date at the top stating that this good until January 2008. And where is the freakin beer?!? You would think with a label this bold that beer would come into play somehow. Well it did, but not in the form of sauce.
This sauce has a lot of good things going for it so far (and I haven’t even opened it up at this point). The colour of the sauce in the bottle is outstanding and there was enough of an air bubble in it to judge the viscosity. The bottle and graphics are top notch, almost regal in appearance.
All is good and well so far. But I would rather take the worst looking sauce with good flavour and heat than one that is aesthetically pleasing only. So how did this one fair in the taste department?
Well it took a couple good shakes to get out of the bottle. The regulator on top made good work of a sauce that looked more watery than it was. But after a few good dashes I managed to get enough to test. The first taste was odd. It was good, but it felt like something was missing. Indeed, that vinegar kick was gone. The carrots were very apparent and then there was a touch of sweetness followed up by what I would a call a medium heat. After a few wings though this sauce built some character unto its own and it was quite enjoyable. It did take some getting used to but it was more due to the lack of vinegar than anything else. I gave it a good try straight from the bottle and really enjoyed the flavour.
If you are looking for a sauce that doesn’t have much vinegar I would put this at the top of the list. Don’t expect much heat though. That is only thing I would like to see from a sauce like this.
Packaging 10/10 – Would look great on any shelf – the sauce store or your own collection
Aroma 8/10 – more like a vegetable cocktail than a hot sauce
Appearance 10/10 – brilliant orange\red with good viscosity with visible seeds and skins
Taste 8/10 – great sauce without a vinegar bite – fresh and lively
Heat 5/10 – medium – would have been nice if it had a solid habanero punch
Overall 8/10 – no beer here – but a very good sauce overall

Interesting website is right! Strange! I agree with the masses that if beer is mentioned in the title it should be in the bottle!
I can’t speak for the sauce because I’ve never had it. Their beer on the other hand is nothing to write home about, pretty gimmickie and lacks flavor. However, their web site is just plain horrible. Sorry, but dump the cutesie animations and motion graphics and go with something more along the lines of your hot sauce label. Less is more. Simpler is better.

Selected Red Peppers? Most all peppers turn red when allowed to ripen on the plant. Red Jalapenos? Red Cayenne? Red Savina ™ ?
A hot sauce without vinegar? Hmmmm
And one more thing. They have this cartoon on their web splash page that shows a big ass beer swilling Jalapeno pounding a poor little lime on it’s head and flattening it. Then the squished lime gets really big and one of those 80’s ish Ghostbuster symbols appears over it and then big words say “Lime is for Wimps.” Funny thing here is that the ingredients for this sauce include key lime juice. I know they are referencing their beer with the “Lime is for Wimps” thing, but then to put it in your sauce which is offered on the same web site. I just don’t get it. Oh, and why is there no vinegar? Is vinegar for wimps too?
I just hope there is another review in 5 weeks on the exact same sauce..

Pretty close Norfolk is in Madison county, it’s in the North East part of the state not hit as bad, a mix of Snow and ice, it’s more in the South western Counties that had large ice form, from Boone, York county and to the west.

I did have a Chipotle Ale made by Rogue once. It wasn’t too bad but definitely not the best offering by Rogue in the slightest!

Actually Arrogant Bastard Ale is made by Stone Brewing Co which to me makes even better beer than Rogue. They make some seriously awesome stuff if you ask me! If you want a serious beer try their Double Bastard which is harder to find. Twice the beer! The most serious beer I have ever had would have to be Bell’s Expedition Stout. That thing is CRAZY! Plus at 11.5% abv you can drink too many
I’m crazy abot this hot sauce bottle and a fine golden beer.

i have been to a place in cave creek, az (dont know if it is the same place that makes this sauce) and had their chili beer they brew on iste. interesting taste. couldnt get drunk on it but worth 1 at least. nice review. interesting web site they have.
