I bought a bottle, and tried it that day... the next day I went back to the store and bought all they had, it was a case and a half... since then I've not seen it on the Goya website, nor in any stores! Next to the smokey ancho chiles, it is the best sauce from Goya I've ever tasted! Great back round info and nice description of preparing the entire meal. I often find myself combining leftover stuff from previous meals. lol -Lars- Nice review Steve. I tasted for smokiness and found little to none, but that's just me. 2.) It is not thick, but not watery either - it would coat something that you poured it on. Sorry I forgot to post a pic of the raw product. 3.) I would NOT use it like a BBQ sauce - it's a condiment. 4.) The bottle is 7 inches tall, 8 oz. Thx for the comments. SM

I like the review, very descriptive, great background info, and a fabulous meal. I would have liked more of a description of the sauce. Do you pick up any smokiness from the ancho? I’m assuming it is pretty thick? Would you use this sauce like a BBQ sauce? How large is the bottle? Once again, I like the review just had a few questions.

I used to live in florida for a while and used Goya products all the time. Didn't get a chance to use the hot sauce much but loved the Mojo. Since you are down Florida way you know a good hot sauce to review that not many folks know about is Matouks. Possibly you could do something on them Best, Rob http://www.scorpionbayhotsauce.com Hey Steve,

I have no problem making the transition with the help of a palate pacifier, like nibbling on a fresh flour tortilla in-between. Cheers! I would not say it's overpowering on the salt, but you would want to hold the salt shaker until you tasted the sauce on your food.

Wow! Now *that’s* a review. Makes me care less about the sauce though, the way you fix the meal :-)

I’d still be leery though of what you describe as ‘pleasantly salty’ with it being the second thing listed… even ahead of the chiles!
