Twas The Night Before The Contest
Twas the day before the contest
And all through the blog
The hopefuls were chatting
Like a silent mobEach one kept their calm
As they started to type
In the back of their mind
They remembered the hypeIt had been some time
Since they all wrote their story
All in hopes
Of achieving this gloryThey wrote down their thoughts
Of what a chilehead meant
After some careful review
Their message was sentThey all tried to forget
and put it back in their minds
Because it was like being a kid
At Christmas timeAs march 10th drew near
We all would await
Soon we would learn
of a different fateIt seems Blair was ill
And that was OK
It just meant that it had to wait
For another dayThat day has now come
and tomorrow we will see
Who the top 5 are
That make historyTonight some will dream
As they toss around
Trying to get some sleep
as their hearts poundUp for grabs
Is a very fine prize
5 winners will be chosen
you can almost hear their criesFor what you will win
is something you cannot buy
its a set of bottles
made from our #1 guyTonight when you sleep
I hope you rest well
Tomorrow some will rejoice
While others raise hell.Should you not win
And you are not poor
For $800
You too can have some cutting room floor5 collectors will be chosen
from those on Blair’s site
Good luck to all
And to all a good night~ Chris & Ryan

Very appropriate! It is an almost Chirstmas like thing!
HHahahahahahaha That is Efffffin great. Toooo funny but so so true

Mad – Did you use the new print function?
That’s great!!! Good job guys- with all the grueling anticipation, it’s good to laugh. BRAVO!!!!!
Hey Nick… I’m embarrassed to ask – is the “QUote This” new? I have never seen it!
Really guys, Chris deserves the credit for this one. I only did the last 3 stanzas. Chris *cough*Shakespeare*cough* came up with this on his own.
Yeah, that about sums it up! I am so excited, it feels like Christmas Eve to me. I am probably gonna knock myself out with some booze tonight just so I can sleep through the night!
Thanks for clearing that up Ryan..I was beginning to think that maybe you guys were joined at the brain..lol
Great job!!
Thanks ryan, but you were my inspiration…lol 🙂 Thanks man.
By the way, I will stick with the Dr, (not Shakespeare)
Thanks for putting it up Nick…
Tracy, if that were the case, we would need to modify the pink helmet.
Don’t know how I inspired you, but you’re most welcome.
I don’t think anyone wants to be joined to me at the hip…They would have to suffer all the medical crap that I’m having to. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
pink helmet… :-0
just giving you credit my friend.
I know some folks are excited about the contest but this is most awesome! The writing skills are almost up there with the Creators lol Goodjob Chris and Ryan
Man this Blog gets better every day. haha I just noticed there is a quote this function which I thought would be a good addition. Nick is on top of things all the time. This is one of the best blogs I have ever seen!
Its a great blog because it has great people posting. Its like a car. You can build an awesome performance car, but in the end, it is only as good as it’s driver.

It’s new huv…have another beer and relax!! Your not losing your mind..lol
I still might be losing my mind! – but I will definitely have another beer – although I can’t taste anything tight now. Working on a mango-habanero sauce. Coming out quite good if I say so myself.
I like the new feature!
[Comment ID #16863 Quoted Here]
Yes, it’s new – been playing with some things.
You’ll also see a Missed Something section in the bottom of the right sidebar – This will show you the last 10 posts with comments since your last visit. (based on cookies) – This is still a little buggy and will take some more work, but it’s about 80% functional – need to enable a mark all a read function for those that only come back once in a while.
Damn you John 😛 my sauce is a hab/mango con tequila…and a few other things 😉
Nice new features Nick, that ought to help some of us save ourselves from carpal tunnel
Ohhh – I didn’t list all the ingredients!
Good man. Here’s a tip I discovered while making mine….Making it in the bathroom really brings out the flavor. Gives it a more natural organic taste.
Just kidding man, that would be just wrong 😛
Funny you should say that now…. my dog just crapped on the floor! I am not kidding:)
and the wife’s mad that I won’t clean it up! i try to explain how cooking and dog poop don’t mix!
LMAO, sorry, didn’t mean to jinx ya 😛
Great Job Guys, When the Six of us meet on Monday afternoon We really have our work cut out for us. I think there are so many Great Collections, Maybe I will just let Nick Take my Vote!!!!
—Just FYI –Each of the 10 sets will contain Vintage Work, some dating back to 1989. Some Dipped in Wax, Some Hand drawn, My First Called Gardners Ultimate Death Sauce. That was the First Name for the sauce I had(Gardner of course my middle name) Each set will have Random numbers #’s 1-10 so not any single collector will have a full set of #1 but all 10 sets will contain at least 1 #1. Lots more to tell you but I will wait. Feel Alive Your Chilipal Blair
Amen Blair. Thanks as always for the info. You’re kinda like CNN of the hot sauce world…constant updates 😛
Very nice Blair. I can’t wait to see what the winners get. Would be interesting to see where it all started!
Ryan I do agree it is a great blog because of the posters as well. It helps to have quite a few active posters as well
2 thumbs up! Thanks Blair!
That is really good to hear that all sets will have a #1 WoW lucky buggers you will be!! Everyone dreams of having a #1. But lots and lots will never have the opportunity, however MSK I think has the rarest of the rare and he is unwilling to part with the shiny globe signed by CaJohn.
I asked MSK if he could sit in my display case. I told him I could modify it by putting some air holes, a little water thingie, and maybe a shoot for the… well you know Input / output
OMG I was trying to put it out of sight out of mind. Now I’m going nuts. Blair put that message up and now forget it I’m not going to be able to sleep.
Nick the quote thingie is cool. This gets better every day!
Very cool…!
Just checked out extreme food – no news 🙁
Of course not, the news happens here 😛
Hey guys, catching up from today, let me read and will be back

Good luck eman. It’s been a busy day.
Chris and Ryan..nice job on the poem!!!!!
All hail Blair!!!!!!
Nick, I love all these new features popping up (even though I haven’t really used any of them yet…) The Hot Sauce Blog seems to be taking strides towards greatness! With all the great people posting here, including some of the worlds best hot sauce producers, this blog is like the center of the hot sauce universe!
[Comment ID #17000 Quoted Here]
It will only get better my friend when they realize just how rabid some of us can be over peppers in liquid form! I personally love it when the producers post here cause it just seems cool and we can get in on some awesome opportunities!! Whoa another feature! Comment feature. Dang Nick is busy tonight!!

I think I will sleep ok, but if there is an email from Blair in my inbox tommorow, I will probably fall out right where I stand!
I also like the quote button, and just noticed the preview button while typing this post, that ones new to me. Now maybe I will have less typos.
To me, having Blair stop here to deliver news about his sauces and contest is like having a movie star stop by your house to announce his new movie! I think he must know where to find all of his biggest fans.
Him knowing where to find his biggest fans gives him the advantage of knowing where to stay away from when needed 🙂
Blair’s fans? Nobody collects that blair’s stuff….it is way over priced..there is this crazy guy on here that will stop at nothing to find a rare bottle…i am perfectly happy with my mini tobasco bottles!!
Whoa…did I get taken off auto aprove? and what’s this preview thing do?
Ok, something weird is going on…two posts ago, my post didn’t show up, by my last one did…
it shows you how your post will look before it actualy goes on
Eman…hope ya know you’ll go to hell for lying 😛
I’m afraid of the preview button…change scares me…
ryan, it’s the blog ghosts, you need to smear hot sauce on your screen and you will be fine
[Comment ID #17009 Quoted Here]
Ryan – Not sure why that comment was held, probably has to do with the length. Periodically random comments are held for moderation until I can get to them – just an odd bug that needs to get worked out.
The only thing I need now is an edit/delete post button but that could be dangerous! The edit would be cool
ryan, already been there, not too bad actualy..they have lots of hot things to eat 🙂
Eman, what are you talking about? or am I losing it?
[Comment ID #17017 Quoted Here]
As quick as comments go by here, an edit button would probably just add confusion when something gets changed. I think use of the preview button will help lower the need for corrections to be made after a post. Although if there were a time limit to make corrections, then maybe an edit button would work.

Working on it, but that’s for another day.

If I win one of the Cutting Room Floors, I am gonna print and frame it. I think it would make a great addition to the display. Great job on the poem guys.
[Comment ID #17024 Quoted Here]
Ha I believe you have done enough for now. I have always thought your sites were well designed and thought out. A good job indeed
1 hour and 5 minutes and it will be the official Cutting Room Floor Contest – decision day!
Mad Reilly…
Sorry my friend, I had to turn the offer down because you didn’t include glazed donuts in the mornings. LOL
Anyone else having trouble sleeping? I can’t stop thinking about all the different awesome bottles Blair will bestow upon the lucky winners! I already warned my hot sauce hottie that tomorrow I will be either screaming with joyful delight, or locked in the bathroom softly sobbing for 6-8 hours.
Good poem!!!!!!
What a great poem!!!! That certaintly took a lot of work and thought, great job Brothers!!!!
Cheffy!
How’s it going?
Got the same thing Blair got and was sick all last week and weekend, but back at it again and Blogging away.
