Vosges Chocolates: Red Fire Bar

Okay, I admit it, I don’t like chocolate. Well, lemme correct that, I don’t mind chocolate but I’ve never craved chocolate. I’m more of a vanilla man myself. Mmmm…. White chocolate. But anyways, as Valentine’s Day is a traditional chocolate holiday, my wife got me the best chocolate gift a none chocolate lover could get.

Red Fire Bar

Now at first I was a little skeptical, I mean, how good could chocolate made out of Mexican ancho and chipotle chili peppers, Ceylon cinnamon and dark chocolate actually be? Well, this chocolate comes with directions. Directions on how to eat chocolate? Yep. That’s what I said. Apparently, to throughly enjoy your chocolate experience, you must first smell the chocolate and then let it melt on the roof of your mouth. Hmmm… Okay, I admit, this does enhance the chocolate eating experience, especially with this type of chocolate.

The Red Fire Bar is disappointedly not hot, but as with most mass marketed items that say they are hot, I wasn’t really expecting to have my mouth on fire. But the way the ancho and chipotle peppers are blended with the chocolate does create a wonderful flavor and is something to which I’m happy to recommend to anybody. To get your Voges Chocolate Red Fire Bar visit http://www.vosgeschocolate.com - I want to try the truffles next!

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars (What can I say? I still don’t like chocolate!)
