« « Previous | Review: CaJohn’s Naga Soreass Hot Sauce » »

Okay 2008 is here and it is time for me to finish off those partial bottles. I assume that some of the other chiliheads out there have the same habit I do of saving just a little bit of a sauce because they want to try it on something in particular. Maybe there is just a tablespoon of sauce left in the bottle but your stuffed. Well at some point we just have to finish that bottle to make room for the next one.

What's in Your Fridge?

I went through my fridge and here is what I found; Capt. Thom’s Dia De Los Muertos, El Yucateco Chipotle, Danny Cash Mean Streak, Red Bandit Red Bell Pepper Habanero, Blair’s Jalapeno Death Sauce, Mild to Wild Pepper & Herb Co. Red Savina Garlic Sauce, Beaver Extra Hot Horseradish, Danny Cash Naga Sabi Bomb, CaJohn’s Fiery Foods Co. Fatalii Fire, Branding Iron Foods Blazin Hot Sauce, Green Bandit Cilantro Habanero, CaJohn’s fiery Foods Co. Naga Saurus, McIlhenny Co. Tabasco Jalapeno Sauce, Three Hot Tamales Toxic Tonic, Louisiana Supreme Habanero Pepper Sauce, Hotzone.com Megasoreass, Three Hot Tamales Cry Baby, Scoville Units Foods Red Savina, Bisummo LLC Ass Murdering Hot Sauce, Primo Specialty Products LLC La Chingada, Huy Fong Foods Inc. Sriracha Chili Sauce, and Cajun Island Sweet Blackened Sauce. I think that makes 22 open bottles.

What's in Your Fridge?

Now you’ll notice I didn’t include any of the fresh or canned salsas(I think there are currently 3), mustards(at least 5), fresh or canned peppers, any products that we produce including test recipes (9 or more).

So with so many more sauces to try I will endeavor to finish all of the above listed sauces this month. Actually my sons will help, now that they know they have the green light to eat them up. Bring on the corn chips and quesadillas!

So how many open bottles are in your fridge? Eat them up! Don’t worry all of those great hot sauce manufacturers will be happy to make more for ya!

I would love to hear what you guys have open! Or comments on whats open in my fridge. Or maybe I’m the only one with a whole shelf of open sauces…nah.

Looks like my top shelf. LOL!

Guess I’ll have to count ‘em all tonight when I get home, but I know I have at least twenty in one of the two shelves in the doors. then there’s the rack of open unrefrigerated sauces beside my table. I’ll take a guess now at 50-75 open sauces.

Thanks for the reality check Sam, I feel much better now. I thought I was the only one who’s frig contained more hot sauce than food.

I’ll update when I get home….this is going to be fun!

Since getting married I’m went from 25+ open bottles to the “allowable” 11 only.

I’m only allowed to open a new one when I show the wife the empty bottle of the old one.

ah, the carefree life of the bachelor! i’ve got about 50 opened, 15 of which, just like Sam, i just set out a few nights ago in the “finish quickly pile.” This is, of course, in anticipation of opening a few more. i have converted all 4 of my roommates into hot sauce enthusiasts, so i have all the confidence in the world that the dregs of those 15 bottles will be gone in no time.

I have two shelves on the door with sauces. One has the smaller 5 oz. woozy bottles and the other has the taller bottles for a GRAND TOTAL OF 29.

i hate to wast sauce by opineng so many more that i never eat some of them and they just sit there untill they go bad so my personal goal was to have no more than 5 bottles open at a time. currently i have 24

If we’re counting big bottles, I have two gallon jugs of THT on the bottom shelf of the fridge. Or can I count that as 50 five oz. bottles. ;)

Actually, that count is 1 bottle shy of last night. I carried my last bit of THT Cranberry in to work this morning.

Hey, can I count the fridge at work? Separate count of course. It’s not like at home, but it’s loaded too.

Ok, at work now.

On the desk in the cubby behind my laptop withing arm’s reach is 8 bottles, counting the THT CUC.

Out in the fridge, 12.

DK, still single, eh?
I have a lot of unopened bottles in my closet. I try not to overwhelm my fridge with all the hot sauce, so I just have about 20 or so, and once one goes away I am ready for another. I too have 1 gallon of THT and a few bottles of salsa and mustard.

Something to make me smile today!!! I wasn’t sure what kind of response this would get, and had asked Nick if it was a better topic for the Boiler Room. 3 of those bottles are now gone and somehow have been replaced already with 3 more. The Dia De Los Muertos was replaced by it’s clone though and is now about a tablespoon away from being dead once again. Tomorrow it’s back to work in the shipyard and about half the open bottles will go to the work fridge. The best way to make sh*tty food taste better is to add some good hot sauce.

AMEN!

Very nice Parker, that’s a decent number you’ve got going.
There’s no need to die in order to go to Heaven brother Parker, just hop a plane and make sure you bring your “eatin’ pants” and a set of ear muffs for your tender California lobes.
I’ll fire up the BBQ and we’ll get “sauced” till the cows come home. Sound good??

In my office:
