Hey all, you probably know me all as MattUK. My name is Matt (however some people know me as Simpson – I don’t know why). I’m from Nottingham in the UK and am at university in Cardiff reading Pharmacy in my fourth year.
I started collecting in late 2005, mainly Blair’s reserves or special bottles but do like anything unusual. As sauces go, I used to think the hotter the better, but from experience I have realised this, in some cases, is not the best option….FLAVOUR is a must! My collection is spread between Nottingham and Cardiff – I take them to Nottingham each holiday but then build my Cardiff collection back up during term times – it’s just one big cycle.
Many of the people who know me, know I love hot sauces…..many think I’m crazy. I even have managed to get the football team’s social tops to have the Mild to Wild badge on the arms….I’ve just got to get them to sew them on now!!
Anyway I think that’s enough about me….I hope to keep you all updated and interested throughout my reviews and hopefully will be able to show you things that aren’t available in the rest of the world. ENJOY!

- List of Top 5 Hot Sauces:

Hottest Item Ever Consumed:
The hottest product I have ever consumed was Hotternell’s 15 million powder. It was definitely the hottest and possibly one of the daftest things I have ever done. I managed to spill a small amount on my hand and rather than brushing it off, I put it in my mouth. I didn’t think much to it at first until I swallowed and washed it down. My stomach gave me abuse for ages afterwards!
Number of hot sauces owned:
I don’t exactly know the exact amount. I’ve been collecting for about a year now (from Nov 2005) and have, what I think is, a pretty good collection especially being a student. Some of them include: White Firecracker #299, Special encore, 4am #58, N-59 #2 and #12, B-99 #18 etc. I’ll try and post a picture of them all together soon.
Type of sauce:
I like any sauce really, as long as it can be poured easily onto nachos, pizza or even my finger. I really like habanero, vinegar based sauces mainly but as long as there’s heat and flavour there, I’m really not fussy.

I am a sports officer for the Welsh Pharmaceutical Students Association. See the link above for what we get up to. The pages I sort out are football, but definitely take a look at the photo evidence.
Number of hot sauces eaten in your lifetime:
I genuinely haven’t a clue. The number consumed definitely increased after finding the HSB last year and no doubt will increase even more from now on. My only limiting factor at the moment is shipping cost – they joys of living across the pond. lol
