With the Collector’s Corner weekly posts it was suggested that the HSB add a section with images of actual collections. So if you have a
First up is a small sampling of Cheffy’s expansive collection.

I was also lucky to get a Cape Fear Voodoo
hot sauce that was even mentioned. I have a question though. In that same purchase i received a bottle of Blairโs sauce I have never seen befor in any other auctions or websites. The bottle is spuare with a white bottle top. It is signed and has a Blairs square label on top. I emailed a picture of it to extreme foods and they said that though they donโt offer values in the second or thrird party markets, that it was a pr-AM bottle that he made for conventions and that they thought it would be fairly rare. If anybody knows anything about this bottle or would like to see a picture please let me know at dedeckerc@hotmail.com.

I sent ya some pics Nick. I forgot to compress them so there quite large. Sorry about that.
Nick, working on some pics as well, I’m working like a one arm paper hanger to try to finish my kitchen (house) so you don’t see a bunch of insulation and crap in the background and not to mention so my wife dosn’t kill me.
Oh sorry Cheffy – kick ass collection!
Yes,very nice!!
Pics will be comming soon!!!!!!!
I am sooo jealous.
shouhdnt these be kept refridgerated?
I have always kept mine in a dark place (Blair’s reserves and all extracts). I’d love to display them out in the open with all of my others sauces…Just too scared something may happen.
as long as they’re not opened they should be ok. If they’re going to go bad, they’ll go bad refrigerated, kept in a dark place, or not. I say throw caution to the wind and show off your obsession…I mean hobby…and be proud of it.
of course remember, if the bottle contains any dairy products, it will go bad.
Dang nice collection there, Cheffy!
Cheffy. Don’t see any Three Hot Tamales sauces there. Hmmmmmm??

He needs a little Lava Gourmet as well!:)
What causes sauces, especially the brighter colored ones, to darken is oxidative browning. It doesn’t mean the sauce is bad, just oxidizing. Take a bite out of an apple & come back to it in ten minutes- you’ll see the same thing. Keeping them in the dark won’t really stop tis or even slow it down appreciably. Stored in bright sunlight, sauces can even ‘bleach out’ like fabrics. The sign a sauce is truly going bad is ‘fuzzies’ or ‘fizzies’.
Oh yeah- and nice collection ๐
Nice collection Cheffy.
I’m actually glad to not see any of mine there, you must have eaten them all. ๐

Nice Cheffy ๐

Garlic Lovers is GREAT! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and my opinion is that nat is nuts! ๐ Not The hotest sauce in the world, but the flavor is incredible. Asa matter of fact, i’m on my last bottle – will need to get more real soon.

Thanks guys, was feeling sooooo sad from the big meanie on the blog.
Don’t worry nat, we’ll sign you up for our newsletter so we can keep you posted on all new disgusting flavors that become available.
[Comment ID #42972 Quote]
LOL – I just call them as I see them. Garlic Lovers is GREAT – plain and simple.
[Comment ID #42972 Quote]
No need to be sad. You Jersey girls rock and your sauces do to! We need to do a trade:)
[Comment ID #42963 Quote]
I just bought my first set of bottles from the Canadian Spice market. The Mango thingy (sorry its in fridge, is amazing and with a nice but not overwhealming bite for a guy like me. Good job i cant wait to get a steak on the grill!!! to try the garlic lovers ๐
P.S. in the post earlier today, i had mentiond working out the aggression issues with nat in therapy, he has outbursts sometimes LOL its a little like turrets ๐
Ridallin spelling
[Comment ID #42977 Quote]
I’m all for that, would love to try your stuff. I’ll be in touch.
[Comment ID #42979 Quote]
I was unaware that the angry outbursts on the blog were a recurring theme for nat. Therapy does seem like the right choice.

All the more reason NOT to let it get to you, because someone says something for shock value, to make a name for themselves, or out of just plain ignorance should not distract you from your normal routine. I have not had a chance to taste your products as of yet, but I have done my research and read every post on them and have seen just overwhelming praise in so many threads that I can’t wait to get a hold of them. In my opion the voice of the majority out ways the silliness of one.
[Comment ID #43030 Quote]
How I meant to finish that was: “In my opinion the voice of the majority outweighs the silliness of one.” Sorry I got a little fustrated at the whole situation and fingers went faster then the brain.
Thanks Vic, I actually welcome comments made such as the one made by nat. How could we ever have a movie/book written about the hot sauce world if we didn’t have all types. We were missing the character with turrets, thats pure entertainment! It’s all good. I’ve had seven days off of work and still have another three to go so nothing can bring me down! Have a great 4th!
[Comment ID #43030 Quote]
Vic, you rally gotta try their sauce! It’s not an extreme sauce as far as heat, but man the flavor! The only drawback is the bottles, need larger ones. The 5 oz ones seem to empty at a very fast rate! ๐
[Comment ID #43034 Quote]
Hey DK, thanks for the kind words. Do you think you’d have an easier time with the gallon size?
[Comment ID #43034 Quote]
I said it here first,
12oz. bottles will be the new coming trend in Hot Sauce!!!
With all the flavor in todays sauces and thicker too, chileheads are applying more sauce to their foods. The 5oz. just aren’t big enough anymore.
More sauce to enjoy for the money!!

If you don’t like them, don’t buy them. If you think you can do better, then by all means make a better sauce. But don’t knock on people’s products. I personally don’t like beats, but you don’t see me writing things about how gross beats are to the people that grow them. There’s lots of people that like them, just as there are lots of people that like the Three Hot Tamale’s sauces. Kristi, Jodie, Lisa…thanks for being good sports and great sauce makers…Keep it up!
[Comment ID #42945 Quote]
Ok nat. Just a question, or two.
Have you tried the sauces you mention yet? And, all of them?
Or are you making a generalization based on one, or perhaps the names you may not care for…
I question someone into hot sauce that cant find any of their (THT) flavors not tasteful ๐
Isnt it hard to find these over in the UK? You order all these online?
Just curious cause usually if we here dont like it, we just wont buy it, and dont scrap all over it (unless its cackalacky…he he)
[Comment ID #43071 Quote]
tap, tap, tap…
we are waiting nat….
tralala ๐
(nat don’t take it the wrong way, I am just teasing) we here have fun riding people that say things sometime against other bloggers. All in good fun, but maybe find a softer way of giving a harsh opinion in the future buddy. Keep posting I like reading your comments in all the threads I havent visited in months sometimes! ๐
[Comment ID #43071 Quote]
I still love you King Booger Head! ๐
[Comment ID #43040 Quote]
Only problem is, retailers hate them! (don’t fit on their hot sauce racks) So they don’t buy ’em. Great for chileheads, Bad for business. But if you don’t mind not selling to stores, have at it! If they do buy them, you end up with the BBQ’s & Wing Sauce.
[Comment ID #42945 Quote]
My heart is broken. I guess I will have to have some good old THT Bloody Marys to cheer me up! ๐
Thanks guys for all the kinds words, except of course to Nat who broke my heart with his mean comment. But I needed an excuse to drink a little earlier in the day anyway. Spicy Bloody Marys anyone?
[Comment ID #43077 Quote]
I feel a change in the wind, if chileheads are asking and demanding them. Then the stores will conform to accommodate their customers wishes. Why wouldn’t ya want more sauce for your money?
-Scotty B
[Comment ID #43068 Quote]
So Ryan if we ever come out with a beet flavored hot sauce we could put your name on the “disgusting new flavors ” newsletter as well? lol Let me ask you, have you and the mrs. ever gone to the anaheim show? I know you’re over that way.
Hey Cajohn, did you get my email? Having issues and was wondering.

i meant to say, they all LOOK delish! God I haven’t even had a drink today!
[Comment ID #43080 Quote]
I’m not saying the chileheads don’t want them, we tried several bottles when we first started because I wanted the line to be “different”. It was explained to me that the hot sauce had to fit the shelves, so it wasn’t interesting to MANY buyers. They have invested lots in there shelving and racking, so they’re not going to change. I’m not saying you shouldn’t go to the big bottle, just preparing you for what your going to hear from the buyers. They are also looking for price, bigger bottle means more cost which equates to a higher price (cost to them). There’s a lot more than good tasting sauce to succeeding, I’ve had my share of “conforming” to the buyers whims.
[Comment ID #43081 Quote]
Can’t say that we have. I got into this frenzy only a year and a half ago. Zestfest will be our first show. If you do wind up making a beet flavored sauce and put my name on it, you have to let me design the label ๐

Jersey Girls Gone Wild !!!
Fantastic display! I’m in the planning stages for my own collection display. Does anybody know where I might locate Century Hot Pepper Sauce? They made two recipes; 1 Habanero and 1 original and would love to purchase some of each. I found it on Firehouse.com but apparently they are out of business. I have only seen it mentioned in other sites, always with a great review!
