This doesn’t have anything to do with the photo, but my wife grilled boneless pork ribs slathered in a half-bottle of Lava Extreme last night. (She normally uses Ring of Fire X-tra Hot Habanero sauce, but S and S was ‘out of stock’ so she tried the Lava.) To die for…one of the tastiest platters of boneless ribs I have ever sat down to…might have to order this by the case next time! Outstanding…even on steak!
Just a quickie, but I want to share something else with you based on your comment. We did a demo in Ft. Worth over the weekend matching the LAVA with bison burgers and steaks. The market had no luck with BBQ sauce as it couldn’t stand up to the strong flavors of the meat. LAVA worked very well. My first experience with bison – tasty meat!
See is very pretty but I’m not worried.
I told Curt a long time ago that he can leave me for another woman anytime he wants but that I WILL retain possession of his dangly bits.

Been happily married to my beautiful bride for 15.5 years. So I guess what I’m trying to say, is that I should prolly refrain from making a comment on Brian’s HOTTIE.
Now please excuse me while I go take a very COLD shower!!
Aaron
I was just wondering. You are gonna drive to ZF? ๐ Someone may need a ride
mikeb
Brian, I’m heading up to Texoma to go Striper fishing Friday, I’ll wave as I’m going by. The Zest Fest should be killer, it has been the last couple of years. I nearly croaked last year, tried toooo much of CaJohns “Black Mamba”. I can’t wait to try a bunch of new ones this year! Thanks all for the open arms welcome!! Look forward to seeing all at ZF, as I’m only about 10 miles away.

BTW thanks- Wendy and I received the package yesterday- thanks for doing that for us- we really could have waited till the bottles came in, that was nice of you
We haven’t had it tested, I’m not a believer in the whole HPLC test thing. Different bottles test differently and different labs produce different results from the same batch. It’s made with 5 levels of cap extract, 3 oleoresin and 2 water soluble. The water soluble hits you quickly, the oleoresin draws out the burn. 500,000 orc, 1 mil ws, 1.5 orc, 2 mil ws, 4 mil orc and chocolate habanero puree.
The fact that many people can’t handle it (or wished they didn’t try it) is the only testing we need. We have a “Satisfaction Gauranteed” policy on all our products anyway. If you don’t think it’s worth it, well give you something else or refund your money. We haven’t had to do that very often.
It’s really hot!
Vic
[Comment ID #32570 Quote]
The bottle is incredible! I have only seen it online- it is so impressive in real life, we love it- thanks again.
Just let us know when you decide to try it so we can keep an eye out to make sure we don’t need to send the ambulance or anything

Brian, thanks for the forecast. I hope it holds up too. I can’t believe how fast I got my order from you! Ups was knocking on my door not 15 minutes ago! I was thinking Monday. I haven’t even had time to think about what I’m going to try it on. I think I will have to grill up a large steak this weekend. Thanks for the fast service.
Looks like more heavy weather coming in tonight man… good luck this weekend! Let me know what you catch! I last was fishing in Colorado. That was the life:)
mikeb
Brian, you wouldn’t believe it! We slaughtered the Strippers!! Got up at 3:45 a.m. drove all the way to Texoma in a pounding rain and lightning storm and as we arrived to buy our license’s (sp) it totally quit raining. We were on the water by 8:00 and by 8:20 had limited out! And we were with 2 other boat loads of people 140 keepers in less than 30 minutes. We fished until we ran out of bait, (throwing back after limit) and were back home by 11:00 a.m. Fantastic trip.. I hate fish though, so will not be trying any sauce on the fish.

The Strippers or stripers ๐ Is this a confession?
Pretty impressive! 20 minutes to limit out? Nice work!! Hopefully you got some fighters in there! So what did you do with the fish? Give ’em to your fishing buddies?
He and Jack the Ripper, having similar transgressions, are now hiding out together ๐
mikeb
Actually I was at Petsmart buying of all things, FISH! Feeder fish I have a 150 gal. aquarium with some rather large exotic fish that were getting hungry. Hell that’s what I should have done with those strippers (am I spelling that wrong) fish anyway. Believe me if they were stripers (whichever one is not fish) I would not be taking a nap!! And yes my fishing partners did abscond with the fish. They were all between a pound and a half to 6 – 7 pounds? Very nice ones..
pmac
off topic i know, mikeb what type of exotics do you have?
I have had a fish tank or two salt and fresh water currently only have 3 tanks, one is down, 1 has a turtle (painted), and lizards in another (little green anole or some junk)
mikeb
[Comment ID #33510 Quote]
I will make one confession though, I stopped at Taco Bell on the way home from the Petsmart. I know from Texas and eating at a Taco Hell. But anyway to get to the point, I tried some of the medium Lava and it was fantastic!! I loved the garlic and habs. you can just see all the good stuff floating around in the bottle! I didn’t want to jump right into the extreme, the medium has some tang to it, but I’m going to put the hot to the test tomorrow..
mikeb
[Comment ID #33518 Quote]
I have two fresh water tanks running now, a 150 and a 20 for feeders. I have a large (24″) silver arawana, a big clown knife, a jack dempsey, a asian catfish, a big turqoise severum and a monster Plecostomos. I had 3 giant red belly pacus in there too, but they were too mean, so I threw them over the fence.. Took me 2 hours to catch the rat B!#$#@’s.
This really is the thread the won’t die isn’t it? (not that I’m complaining!)
mikeb
[Comment ID #33523 Quote]
I think that’s a well kept secret. But I don’t think that I really want to know. Your absolutely right, the sauce taste far exceded the “meat” taste. I can’t wait to get to the hotter ones.
pmac
[Comment ID #33521 Quote]
Nice, you go for the Large carnivors i see ๐
I have a buddy that loves those types of fish.
The catfish, is it a Redtail by chance?
The severum and Jack are a gorgeous fish like pastells lots of different subtle colors in them. Sounds like a nice tank you have there. Glad to hear you have a seperate feeder tank ๐
mikeb
[Comment ID #33525 Quote]
I’ve only seen one larger, and that one got kind of nasty! You might know which one I’m refering to. But I haven’t been on the blog as long as most of you guys, so there have probably been larger. I definately have not seen one that starts out as nice as this one though!! wink, wink.
pmac
[Comment ID #33529 Quote]
Hahaha, Hmm I never noticed. Wife standing over shoulder!!!
mikeb
[Comment ID #33528 Quote]
Yes sir I do like the carnivors! It’s so cool to feed them, I have friends calling all the time asking when are you feeding your fish! And yes the asian is a Redtail.. My severum is kind of dull though, the dempsey is very colorfull.. The feeder tank makes it a lot easier. Just dip a few out and your done..
pmac
Man I am jealous, the Redtail is one of my favourite fish, I had a baby one I rasied to about a foot long once, and i hand fed it all the way they are SOOO FRIENDLY. Its a fish that really has a personality.
It eats the fish right out of your hand. But seeing the other fish you have I imagine you don’t have that opportunity much to do that heheh.
One of the others just might eat a finger ๐ Like the severum ๐
I once made money in college by playing “the house” for fighting fish. It was all staged in my dorm’s large TV room, with one of the football team’s linebackers working the door/security. We made some decent scratch that night so we didn’t have to beg for beer money for a good while!
Also, my first grader has kept her beta alive since Christmas now – a record for her with fish:).
pmac
Hahah the little chinese fighting fish with the fancy tails?
BIG even little fish. ๐

Lol i just got a message that said (sorry you cannot post a comment more than every 15 seconds, slow down cowboy! ๐
mikeb
400 comments!! Geez this is a huge thread! I don’t think that fish has a darn thing to do with it! I would love to have seen the fish fights. I have them nightly in my tanks. But not like the beta’s, I hear they are pretty vicious?
pmac
What happened to the comments tread in the cajohns collectors topic?
It says closed. with no comments
pmac
Or am i delerious with tread overload and no comments were ever in there?
I tried to post this under the ‘5 Pepper Salsa’ recipe I provided earlier, but I can’t post there anymore. Could someone let me know if it’s just me? ๐
So anyway, I got an email from a nice lady in Houston who reports that she won her company’s ‘Salsa Competition’ today using my recipe! Way to go Monica Quintero!:)
I just want to break a thousand and then I am taking a break from the blog, and email will be the only way to talk to me, other than the phone ๐ I have to spend more time working to pay for our trip ๐ thanks for the welcome

Good to hear. Never hurts to learn a little something especially from those guys. They sure know what they are talking about!

Guilty as charged. I know most of my posts aren’t really hot sauce related, I just like to keep a good relationship with most people, yourself included.
Mrs.Ryan
ok you twisted my arm, I’ll stay, full time ๐ besides, I love the late nights when I can ask all the questions and get schooled in hot sauce ๐
I find out more about myself here than I do anywhere else!!!
Mrs.Ryan
I have figurred out many things about myself, like the fact I love hot sauce, my hubby is normal, and that most of the people are fun loving nd accepting of all of us new or old to the hot sauce world
A lot of mine are intelligent discourse with you and the Lovely!

good times CaJohn!!
mikeb
Brian, you weren’t kidding about the Central Market!! They are pretty high on other things though! I bought a nice 1 pound + Ribeye for $20. It’s cooking as we type. I’m moving up to the hot, one step at a time. The medium was great, I can see the hot being as good or better. Different subject. Have you ever been to Pendrys spice store downtown Fort Worth? I bought a 2003 CaJohn Legend there today for $18. Signed and numbered. They had a mess of Log Cabins too..
mikeb
Who needs steak sauce!! For that matter I think I will throw out the ketchup as well. Man was that Lava tasty. About half way through my steak I felt the need for a little more heat and switched to the Extreme, now that baby packs a little punch. The flavor is what it is all about though. I loved the little pieces of habs. and tomatoes, garlic, and everything else. Great sauce Brian. I’m glad I bought 4 more bottles today.
Well, if anyone cares to take a peek, I’m considering getting some tshirts done up. I have a few images you can preview here http://www.locoluna.net/LavaOnTour/tshirts.html (if this doesn’t work, go to my site and click ‘tshirts’ on right side below RSS feed boxes).
Let me know if you like any of them! Thanks in advance.

[Comment ID #34530 Quote]
kind of, I guess… sometimes you have to work at work ๐
Brian I especially the last ones, but I’m looking at it for another reason besides T-shirts. It would make a great looking private label on a cigar if you trim it up to the borders of the graphics. Lots of cigar companies do that sort of thing.
Interesting idea! I’ve always referred to that as a “cigar band” to go around the bottle neck, but I never considered using it on an actual cigar:). Thanks MSK!
BTW, the last images are for the shirt front left pocket or back of the shirt middle, just under the collar area.
Ryan
Brian: I dig the pics with a large shovel! Those would make some great shirts, posters, cigars as MSK mentioned, maybe even a micro brew beer!
Thanks! Actually I have another idea for a poster, but these might work for that too. I hadn’t considered the microbrew angle. I need private labeler:) That would be a hoot!
Yes, I plan on have one or two variations available for ZF. I haven’t really settled on which ones yet, but I’m not likely to do them all as they all have set up fees (on a per color basis, of course:) and too many will get pricey without a built in market. Hmmm, I’ll have to work on that.
Open call for more opinions! Let me know what you think please:)

I like them, not crazy about the go with the flow ones, but I love the sun. I would buy one with the little loco sun dude on it ๐ in red please ๐

I think a white T-SHIRT with the FIRST image (LAVA Gournet HS) on the front left chest area, and the FIFTH iamge (loco luna) on the back. AND ALSO a blus shirt with image TWO on the front and the matching image SEVEN (for that matter the BLack works also on a T-SHIRT)
I’m not sure if these are each individual shirts, but I think the above combos would be great
Vic
I like them, I think some of the logos stand out more on certain colors, my favorite is the Grey/Blue background Loco Luna Gourmet Hot Sauce. They look great Brian!
I would like to see Dallas win as well. I normally don’t follow NBA that much but I would like to see them win
Kristi
Well I am definitely considered a lunatic so I’m very into some of those designs for a t-shirt. I like the brown and blue loco luna designs. Would look nice against a blue tshirt.
Yeah Brian- when you open up the size range to help out us BIG guys let me know. In the mean time all the little guys and girls will look great in them.
So what sizes do I need for Zest Fest?? I appreciate the advice – this is my first foray into t-shirts and I’ve been trying too keep my out of pocket in a reasonable range:)
Loco we have been looking into the same thing, I was told by a shirt manufact. that you really should carry Large and Xl. xxl if they are cotton and will shrink. hope that helps
They always say they don’t shrink (they alway “tighten-up if not really shrinkage), AND it’s really quite large for an extra large. That just means I’m huge I guess!, and there are lots of chileheads bigger than me! I know XXL & XXXL cost more than the “regular” sizes, I also ask the vendors that if they cost more because of more material, then why don’t the small & medium cost less. It never works…
We always get XX and XXX and believe it or not, they are usually the first ones to run out!
She did great…. 2nd place in the National Dance Twirl 7 Year old, and 4th place in the National Solo 7 Year Old (although she got robbed – she really did, should have been a 2nd or at least a third) – but she did great for here first Solo nationals. Teams start tomorrow.
Thanx for asking!

Tell her great job from a stranger in ohio. Been there many times in diffrent areas with my older kids now my youngest is going to her first Nationals for Dance in Aug.. 5 kids and 22 years of this kind of stuff I love it. My oldest kid is 22 and youngest is 12. The 17,18,21 are boys.
Congratulations Brittany!! I tried twirling at one point when I was younger, it didn’t go so well. I got hit in the head alot, well either that or I hit someone else in the head! lol Have fun.
Actually doing a consulting gig in Chicago. I’ve been here for the week and will be back next week. The weekends, however, are MINE (meaning I get to go to soccer games and stuff:)! At least it is with the family!!!
Here are the facts as I understand them:
-he went on vacation to Ireland (he is Irish, not sure if he grew up there or not)
-he came back
-he disappeared
I think we need to ask the guys at Area 51 to inquire of their alien friends to see if maybe he got abducted!
Mrs.Ryan
what a strange thing…..
I am happy he went on vacation
I am sorry he disappeared
maybe his wife threw out the computer and took his credit cards…..
Got a bottle of the Hot Sauce Underground yesterday. This is a product of eman, Ryan and Tracy Campbell. If I’ve left anyone out, my appologies. Let me tell ya, this stuff is hot! Good job guys and thanks for the sample. The Red Sav’s (R) really make their presence known in this bad boy!!!
Yup, Chrisk.. Glad ya liked the sauce. Currently there is a signed HSU bottle on ebay with some Cajohn’s prototype’s and a signed Backdraft bottle from Jim Campbell. Just trying to raise a bit more for the Step up for Charity fundraiser.
My first home grown (from seed) Red Savs are starting to rippen. Can’t wait to drop one of those bad boys in my homemade salsa. I’ll post a pic of the pepper for everyone to lust over:)! haha
Mrs.Ryan
HUV, you outbid me ๐ I cried for hours last night because of this!!!! LOL just kidding
I don’t have the blair/CaJohn charity if that’s what you’re refering to, but I do have the HSU and WILL have the Houston We Have a Problem soon. I designed the labels for both of those. I don’t have the Backdraft or the Liquid Axe though ๐
Oh I don’t have any to sell. I never sell the stuff I collect. I’m too poor to invest money in some of these in hopes that I’ll at least get my money back on it. I get only one of anything that I want and let it sit. If its a cheap thing, I’ll get a second to taste, but when you’re talking $20 and up for a bottle, I only buy one. The great thing is that a lot of collector bottles contain the same sauce that is mass produced so you can get a cheap bottle and be able to taste what’s inside the expensive one. What makes a lot of sauces collectible are simply the label or the shape of the bottle. When it comes to extracts though, like CaJohn’s Caveart Emptore coming up, that isn’t bottled in anything but the laser etched stainless steel flask.
There was only about 30 or so of the HSU bottles made, and even less were signed by the 4 of us. I don’t know if the one included in the auction is the last of them or not. If not, there’s not many left

total of 36 made..16 were signed by Eman,ChrisK, Ryan (angrypepper) and yers truly…only 4 were signed by Cajohn, Wicked Wanza, MSK and myself. 16 were not signed. The bottle contains the Cape Fear pepper Company Red Savina sauce.
The proto Houston bottle in the auction is the only proto available for sale. The proto LiQuid Ax was never released. I’m not sure how many of these are around. Maybe Cajohn can chime in and fill us in.
Only as many as I want to release…
Just kidding, There were 12 of the laser print and 4 of the ones in the auction. MSK has one of the laser print. The rest of the laser printed ones were sold at Albuquerque 3 years ago. Probably consumed. The ones in the auction were given to Hot Shots & Peppers. Lord knows what they did with them. I still have 1 and the other is up for bids on the auction. It was a sauce produced bythe Zoschkes of Suncoast Peppers, and promoted as the hottest non-extract sauce on the market. We got the recipe when we purchased them. I have my doubts on that claim, as well as the one made by Torchbearer Sauces in this months FHM. Isn’t that in the taste of the beholder? HPLC is quite fickle, they (Torchbearers) know that themselves. More shameless self promotion… and I like those guys, just don’t make claims you can’t back up…Have you tested them all?

P.S. everyone … that’s Brian’s Car. I’ve seen it. And I was thinking …”If I hit him on the head, just right …..” ๐

Good thing you didn’t post all of the pics I sent then:)
Brian, what the hell are you doing making hot sauce??? If I had that car I would rock n roll every night and party every day. Nice.

Brian, you drive a ferrari. Maybe I should drop out now, and start bottling my own reserves. Oh man I need extreme bad haha, its in my next S&S order.
Brian, Your hottie is very pretty, in my opinion, much better than the car. ๐
Yeah both are neat ๐ kidding. Nice choice in both ride and passenger ๐

rofl, I am sure it is ๐
Is it fast enough to sling carp?
Ok, so I’m scanning through the comments and my husband walks in the room and see’s the picture and says
“Whoa, whoโs that!!!?โ
Every time he sees the picture he makes male noises of appreciation and it not the car heโs looking at.

You need to come over for my Huvason-TALON Pizza experiment. Instead of sauce, i’m using PURE TALON. Should be good!
[Comment ID #32503 Quote]
I agree, and my I say that your label looks great too…I have an affinity for good graphic design ๐
[Comment ID #32507 Quote]
It sure looks like it might make a very very tasty pizza sauce. Just one that happens to let you know it is there and does not let you forget. What topping did I put on the pizza again?! lol
Pretty impressive huv. Gotta try that one too!
[Comment ID #32504 Quote]
Physical damage can be repaired- modern technology! i say go for it, I agree- but mine is considered pig-headed. My tolerance is overshadowed by my desire to increase my tolerance- if that makes sence.
[Comment ID #32507 Quote]
That would be awesome! When are you buying my plane ticket? ๐
Gotta run for the night. Thanks for the love HSB. You all rock!

Makes perfect sense, but I think I’ve plateaued ๐ But that doesn’t mean I’m not crazy enough to try anything at least once ๐
[Comment ID #32511 Quote]
I do the same sometimes. I tell myself, what doesn’t kill me only increases my tolerance!

Truer words have never been spoken here!
If any of you have seen a movie called “What the “Bleep” Do We Know?” or read the book (that is the actual title) it will definately help. Its a lot of information to take in (scientific and biological info), but its a very enlightening film/book.
[Comment ID #32528 Quote]
My middle finger, but that’s aimed at the neighbor kids ruining my quiet evening ๐ How you doin bro?

Doin- just got home from work, trying to catch up here

Thanks, tune in next week to see my next trick ๐

OH! and what’s the rating on the black mamba? Everything I keep hearing about it is a little scary. Might have to get its own case inside the display case
[Comment ID #32563 Quote]
I rented you a booth Ryan- I told you, it’s blue and it has a turning handle that says “vacant” & “occupied” – Don’t drink the blue water though………
There is no next door, we’re on an end cap. So I guess it will be behind me. I don’t know if I want you in your cheerleading outfit behind me…
Day is almost over, that’s a good thing. Then there’s tomorrow…
[Comment ID #32566 Quote]

[Comment ID #32567 Quote]
But CaJohn- have you seen him in the cheerleading outfit- WoW sums it up I think.
BTW thanks- Wendy and I received the package yesterday- thanks for doing that for us- we really could have waited till the bottles came in, that was nice of you
[Comment ID #32565 Quote]
[Comment ID #32570 Quote]
The bottle is incredible! I have only seen it online- it is so impressive in real life, we love it- thanks again.
Glad you ot it Vic. I personalized the headlight a bit, it’s really not a Volkswagon. I don’t know when the pallet will be here.
[Comment ID #32569 Quote]
I won’t!!!!! ๐
I really don’t want to see him in the outfit, Even if it says CaJohns on it!!!
By the way, I meant got it, not ot it…
[Comment ID #32572 Quote]
I can only imagine for the time being. All our money has been going toward the TX fund. Soon I’ll be able to spend money on other things
Isn’t it nice that after you post on this thread you get that picture of the Lava Sauce again?
[Comment ID #32574 Quote]
I think that was my favorite part of it- and now I know it is……
[Comment ID #32576 Quote]
I swear there will be no cheerleading outfit…what about a dominatrix getup?
Go ahead Ryan, open the bottle of Mamba, I know where you can get more…

The Canadian Spice Market add on the right column is hers. Click on it and go straight to her. Nice lady! She can also be found on the chileheads list.
Hi Jim.
What/where is the chileheads list?
[Comment ID #32688 Quote]
Thank you for the warm welcome! I’m from the great city of Fort Worth, and was wondering if there will be a meeting place/restaurant for the HSBers to meet up at?
[Comment ID #32701 Quote]
I was referring to meeting at Zest Fest………..I have some great suggestions!
I know we will be getting together at the event. I would say stay tuned. I’m sure plans will be made as we get closer to the event!
[Comment ID #32697 Quote]
The chileheads is a strictly non-commercial e-mail list that has been around for ages. I’ve been on so long I couldn’t even tell you how to subscribe correctly anymore ๐ CaJohn’s been on there almost as long. It’s pretty slow these days, maybe a half dozen posts in a week. That’s where most of my votes came from as it got posted there by one of the list members. There are at least a few of them here on the blog as well, including Lipant, and chilechick.
[Comment ID #32718 Quote]
Very interesting. You are indeed a fount of chile knowledge!
[Comment ID #32718 Quote]

I just had to wait one more response…. dang!

LOL, not reading it any other way than the way it was typed. That’s really cool. I hear a lot of success stories about people meeting their sould mate at work ๐
[Comment ID #32863 Quote]
I haven’t gotten anything yet! I have a buddy who’s friend is in college and does some design work, but he hasn’t told me if he is interested. People seem to like the sauce though, so I need to do something. Plus I finished second in ” Kato’s Amatuer fiery food contest ” this week so I want to see where this thing goes! (plus an honorable mention)
I will email Nick in the AM for your email.

Hey Brian you out there?? Was wondering what the weather was like way up north there?? I’m leaving from Fort Worth about 4:30 in the a.m. hope to be on the lake by 7:30 in the morning. Rain or shine.
[Comment ID #33036 Quote]
Heya Mike! Just got back in from coaching soccer. The weather is very nice, although a little sticky from the rains this morning. About 81F with clear blue skies! I hope it lasts for you:)
[Comment ID #33079 Quote]
Glad you got it. Take it with you this weekend. It’ll keep you warm, brother!:)
[Comment ID #33079 Quote]
Looks like more heavy weather coming in tonight man… good luck this weekend! Let me know what you catch! I last was fishing in Colorado. That was the life:)
[Comment ID #33507 Quote]
The Strippers or stripers ๐ Is this a confession?
[Comment ID #33507 Quote]
Pretty impressive! 20 minutes to limit out? Nice work!! Hopefully you got some fighters in there! So what did you do with the fish? Give ’em to your fishing buddies?
[Comment ID #33510 Quote]
LOL! Don’t hold your breath on a response to that one.
So the question is, is Mike sleeping from his early foray or is he in hiding? ๐
[Comment ID #33512 Quote]
He and Jack the Ripper, having similar transgressions, are now hiding out together ๐
Very nice ones..
off topic i know, mikeb what type of exotics do you have?
I have had a fish tank or two salt and fresh water currently only have 3 tanks, one is down, 1 has a turtle (painted), and lizards in another (little green anole or some junk)
[Comment ID #33520 Quote]
Glad you like it:). A good sauce can make even Taco Hell bearable:) BTW, if you figure out what it is they use for *meat*, let me know.
This really is the thread the won’t die isn’t it? (not that I’m complaining!)
[Comment ID #33523 Quote]
I think that’s a well kept secret. But I don’t think that I really want to know. Your absolutely right, the sauce taste far exceded the “meat” taste. I can’t wait to get to the hotter ones.
[Comment ID #33525 Quote]
I’ve only seen one larger, and that one got kind of nasty! You might know which one I’m refering to. But I haven’t been on the blog as long as most of you guys, so there have probably been larger. I definately have not seen one that starts out as nice as this one though!! wink, wink.
[Comment ID #33529 Quote]
Hahaha, Hmm I never noticed. Wife standing over shoulder!!!
[Comment ID #33531 Quote]
I once made money in college by playing “the house” for fighting fish. It was all staged in my dorm’s large TV room, with one of the football team’s linebackers working the door/security. We made some decent scratch that night so we didn’t have to beg for beer money for a good while!
Also, my first grader has kept her beta alive since Christmas now – a record for her with fish:).
Hahah the little chinese fighting fish with the fancy tails?
BIG even little fish. ๐
Hahah the little chinese fighting fish with the fancy tails?
BIG event little fish. ๐
Lol i just got a message that said (sorry you cannot post a comment more than every 15 seconds, slow down cowboy! ๐
400 comments!! Geez this is a huge thread! I don’t think that fish has a darn thing to do with it! I would love to have seen the fish fights. I have them nightly in my tanks. But not like the beta’s, I hear they are pretty vicious?
What happened to the comments tread in the cajohns collectors topic?

I tried to post this under the ‘5 Pepper Salsa’ recipe I provided earlier, but I can’t post there anymore. Could someone let me know if it’s just me? ๐
So anyway, I got an email from a nice lady in Houston who reports that she won her company’s ‘Salsa Competition’ today using my recipe! Way to go Monica Quintero!:)

[Comment ID #33912 Quote]
good times CaJohn!!
[Comment ID #34158 Quote]
Glad it worked out so well! I was at the CM in Dallas demoing all day. It was a blast!
Brian: I dig the pics with a large shovel! Those would make some great shirts, posters, cigars as MSK mentioned, maybe even a micro brew beer!
Hey Brian, Those shirt designs rock!! Are you planning on having those reay for ZestFest? I would love to get one.
I like this one
http://www.locoluna.net/LavaOnTour/images/6.jpg
and these would look great on the back centered just under the collar.
http://www.locoluna.net/LavaOnTour/images/11.jpg
Cool stuff!! We would, of course, get the “Friends of the Owner” discount, right?? ๐
[Comment ID #34551 Quote]
Thanks! Actually I have another idea for a poster, but these might work for that too. I hadn’t considered the microbrew angle. I need private labeler:) That would be a hoot!
[Comment ID #34560 Quote]
Yes, I plan on have one or two variations available for ZF. I haven’t really settled on which ones yet, but I’m not likely to do them all as they all have set up fees (on a per color basis, of course:) and too many will get pricey without a built in market. Hmmm, I’ll have to work on that.
I appreciate the input on what you like. Thanks!
I like this one as well
http://www.locoluna.net/LavaOnTour/images/6.jpg
On a dark color shirt that would look pretty sweet! I wouldn’t mind getting myself one of those!
Open call for more opinions! Let me know what you think please:)
[Comment ID #34532 Quote]
I like them, not crazy about the go with the flow ones, but I love the sun. I would buy one with the little loco sun dude on it ๐ in red please ๐
[Comment ID #34778 Quote]
I think a white T-SHIRT with the FIRST image (LAVA Gournet HS) on the front left chest area, and the FIFTH iamge (loco luna) on the back. AND ALSO a blus shirt with image TWO on the front and the matching image SEVEN (for that matter the BLack works also on a T-SHIRT)
I’m not sure if these are each individual shirts, but I think the above combos would be great
I like them, I think some of the logos stand out more on certain colors, my favorite is the Grey/Blue background Loco Luna Gourmet Hot Sauce. They look great Brian!
[Comment ID #34780 Quote]
Actually it is a moon (Loco Luna, crazy moon, and my name to boot!).
I meant moon ๐ณ i did truly, mistaken identity, ๐ well I like it either way, it would look cool on a red shirt ๐
I was being funny…..the moon looks great, I would seriously sport a red T-shirt with the crazy moon any day ๐
Thanks Mrs.R. I appreciate the input!
your very welcome, but can you do a huge favor for me brian?
And thank you too Vic!
[Comment ID #34789 Quote]
What can I do for you?
let me know when the shirts are ready, I would really like to have a red medium sized one ๐
Is that the huge favor? That is EASY:)
I guess it was more like a medium sized favor ๐
[Comment ID #34795 Quote]
A medium sized RED favor……….
ROFL.. you got it:)
Now to watch the Mavs kick San Antonio’s a$$
oh yeah forgot the red part ๐ณ

I would like to see Dallas win as well. I normally don’t follow NBA that much but I would like to see them win
Well I am definitely considered a lunatic so I’m very into some of those designs for a t-shirt. I like the brown and blue loco luna designs. Would look nice against a blue tshirt.
Sounds good to me. I’ve always thought female lunatics are the best lunatics:)

So what sizes do I need for Zest Fest?? I appreciate the advice – this is my first foray into t-shirts and I’ve been trying too keep my out of pocket in a reasonable range:)
BTW – the XL we stock is pretty big and I’m told that these don’t shrink. Then again, I’m about 5’11″/6′, 163 lbs….
Happy 4th everyone! May God bless America!
Happy 4th everyone! Hope it is safe and fun for all of you!
[Comment ID #43408 Quote]
[Comment ID #43412 Quote]
Thanks guys………..You too!
[Comment ID #43430 Quote]
Thats because of guys like me ๐
[Comment ID #43417 Quote]
[Comment ID #43430 Quote]

wow – I just passed MAD on the commnetors list. I never thought that would happen!! “Alas poor MAD, I knew him well…”
did anyone ever figure out what the heck is going on with him? it’s been months since he has been on here….
Here are the facts as I understand them:
-he went on vacation to Ireland (he is Irish, not sure if he grew up there or not)
-he came back
-he disappeared
I think we need to ask the guys at Area 51 to inquire of their alien friends to see if maybe he got abducted!
what a strange thing…..
I am happy he went on vacation
I am sorry he disappeared
maybe his wife threw out the computer and took his credit cards…..
Adendum to facts –
-I have his email, have email several times and have not gotten any replies since just after his trip return…
[Comment ID #45826 Quote]
Area 51 and the cute little aliens had nothing to do with this, they told me.

[Comment ID #50933 Quote]
I wish, then I’d havea gold mine sitting in my living room ๐
[Comment ID #50935 Quote]
you have others you’re selling? or just the charity ones?
I don’t have the blair/CaJohn charity if that’s what you’re refering to, but I do have the HSU and WILL have the Houston We Have a Problem soon. I designed the labels for both of those. I don’t have the Backdraft or the Liquid Axe though ๐

collectors….
[Comment ID #50943 Quote]
That’s cool Ryan, who’s going to carry the “Houston….” sauce
[Comment ID #50943 Quote]
good to know in case i cant win the auction
[Comment ID #50943 Quote]
Ryan, great job on that “Houston” label. I love the idea of the pepper from space! Very fitting for the show. ๐
[Comment ID #50946 Quote]
That’s a CaJohn sauce. He kinda wrote over the his logo on the side of the label ๐
[Comment ID #50946 Quote]
I’d like to see the labels!
[Comment ID #50954 Quote]
they’re on the e-bay auction. there’s a link above i believe, or you can do a search for cajohn and it shows up
[Comment ID #50947 Quote]

Thanks DK, there’s only 120 of those so when they’re gone, they’re gone ๐
[Comment ID #50958 Quote]
thats kewl, yeah CaJohn’s newbie looks so awesome, can’t wait to get one at ZF, I;m sure it’s gonna look even better in person.
I guess I have to win that auction then…arrgghhh…. $$$$$$
[Comment ID #50960 Quote]
There was only about 30 or so of the HSU bottles made, and even less were signed by the 4 of us. I don’t know if the one included in the auction is the last of them or not. If not, there’s not many left
[Comment ID #50961 Quote]
who would have them if there was more? who should i contact, you can e-mail me/ thanx
[Comment ID #50961 Quote]
total of 36 made..16 were signed by Eman,ChrisK, Ryan (angrypepper) and yers truly…only 4 were signed by Cajohn, Wicked Wanza, MSK and myself.

He Tracy- you’ve got mail!
[Comment ID #50977 Quote]
More shameless self promotion… and I like those guys, just don’t make claims you can’t back up…Have you tested them all?
ahhhhhh CaJohn, you rawk ๐
I mean 3 Albuquerque shows ago. 2004!
Thanks Mrs. Ryan…
I think it’s time for another hot sauce hottie….. you guys agree?
