BLAIR & ZAKK WYLDE!
Dear ChiliPal,
So many things have been going on in Death Sauce Land over the last few months.
So much in fact that I could not explain everything in just one e-Mail. Over the next couple of weeks I will be sending out several additional messages covering many exciting topics.
Today I want to announce that Blair’s and Zakk Wylde have partnered in a unique line of “Berserker Brand” Hot Sauces. As I am sure many of you know Zakk Wylde has been The lead axe man With Ozzy Osbourne for almost 20 years and has an incredible following of millions of fans from around the world. I am very honored to be working with him directly on this project and was psyched to learn he has been a long time Death Sauce fan, not to mention a fellow Jersey boy. We will be launching 4 unique sauces in June 2008. These sauces will be available via www.extremefood.com and www.zakkwylde.com, Ozzfest, As well as many other major retailers around the globe that will be announced soon.
Take a look at the prototype of the label below as well as a message directly from Zakk. Again this is a very exciting event for Blair’s and we look forward to millions of new chiliheads joining us in using and collecting both Zakk’s sauces as well as my reserves. Enjoy the ride!
FEEL ALIVE!
Your ChiliPal,

FROM ZAKK WYLDE:
“When it came time to choose a company to introduce a recipe of flavors geared towards my fan base, the Berserkers, only one company was considered: Blair’s.
So I made the call right away.
Blair¹s Death Sauce has taken first position in my rack of flavors for sometime, and it¹s been my go-to sauce for anything I’ve cooked, grilled or recently killed that needs that extra punch. The thought that I could build on that Blair’s tradition, and bring it to my audience is huge. And it’s getting bigger since we decided one flavor is not enough- so we’re going with 4 flavors to launch.”
ABOUT ZAKK WYLDE:
Zakk
Wylde’s tenure as Ozzy Osbourne’s axe slinging side-kick has brought him fame in front of a large audience over the past two decades. However, it’s Wylde’ rock band Black Label Society (BLS) that has brought him notoriety amongst a hard core crowd of music lovers known in Black Label’s world as Berserkers. The fans, who have Black Label Society chapters around the globe, wear their BLS colors with great pride. A musical gang of beer drinkers, they rally under the mantra SDMF, which means Strength Determination, Merciless, Forever. “It’s a tribute to family and God” according to Wylde. From 1999’s “Sonic Brew” album to the current “Shot To Hell” release, one thing is certain- Black Label Society’s recorded output has never disappointed rock loyalists.
Look for a new BLS album in 2009.

Dear Blair,
Mine would be one of those burried emails. I would greatly appreciate it if you would take the time to dig it out. It would be from platinumpainting@msn.com. I have tried calling your office twice and left a number to call back, then sent you an email. Still no response.
I am excited to see what the Berserker sauces taste like and would love to buy some posters of the label if available. My middle sons name is Zackary Wilder, and I think he would be pretty happy if I framed one for his bedroom wall.
Still trying to be your chilipal,
Sam
I have been an Ozzy fan forever and a huge Zakk Wylde fan (ever when he left Ozzy’s band from 1995-2001) and have followed his career and music faithfully. He rules. I really liked the cameo he had on Damageplan’s album. He’s such a multiple threat. I have some of his guitar lessons on DVD as a matter of fact. Not even a Guitar God like Zakk can help my playing though.
I spoke with Zakk earlier this year at a guitar shop here in town. He was giving a young guitar student a free guitar, (any guitar in the shop and the kid picks a Gibson SG WTF?), anyways, Zakk Wylde is a great guy. A little freaky looking with the long hair and big bushy beard, but great to talk to.
The Berserker moniker is actually the name of a film that Zakk is writing and producing. Talk about marketing potential, a movie title with four hot sauce labels attached to it? That should do well.
Ok, I’m done gushing.
EXTREEEEM !!!
I wanted to say a Huge “Thank you” to the incredible bunch of Chiliheads and Berserkers who have sent me emails in the last few days …You Guys and Gals Really Make it Happen…FEEL ALIVE BLAIR

Actually it was an Epiphone SG, not Gibson. As for the Berserker movie, I hear that is just a joke that he made in an interview.

A brush with rock royalty
Zakk Wylde, Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist, makes the day for kid learning to play

You can’t judge a guitar by its case and you can’t judge a guitar hero’s heart by his leather and chains.
Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde earned a fan for life on his visit to a Saskatoon music store this week when he gave 12-year-old Tanner Brayshaw his choice of any guitar in the place.
“It was pretty sweet. I was just really shocked,” Brayshaw said Friday.
Wylde was taking a break from his autograph session at Long & McQuade on Tuesday when he noticed students taking lessons. Store manager Pete Woronowski asked him if he’d like to share some pointers with a student.
“He said, ‘No way, can we do that?’ ” Woronowski said Friday.
When Brayshaw looked up, “his eyes just about fell out of his head and his teacher almost passed out.”
After playing a few notes on the boy’s guitar, Wylde decided he needed a new one.
“You come with Uncle Zakk and you go pick any guitar you want on the wall and your Uncle Zakk will buy it for you,” Woronowski recounted.
“This guy has a heart the size of the city. It’s incredible.”
Brayshaw picked out a red Gibson SG. At $600 it was far from the most expensive axe in the woodshed, but it was the one he wanted.
“It’s red, my favourite colour. I really didn’t want to pick the most expensive guitar because I thought that would be pretty rude,” said Brayshaw.
“It feels great. It’s nice and smooth and has good action.”
“It was pretty mind-blowing,” said drum manager Arnold Nagy. “You don’t expect this huge guy with chains and a beard to be as nice as he was to a kid.”
Naturally, Wylde autographed the guitar. He also provided four tickets and VIP passes to the Ozzy Osbourne concert the next night. Brayshaw and his family met Ozzy and the band, checked out Wylde’s guitars and watched the show from the side of the stage.
“It was just unbelievable. You rarely hear of something like that happening,” said Tanner’s mom, Lesli.
Wylde spoke about the importance of family.
He’s married to his high school sweetheart and they have three kids. The youngest is named Hendrix.
“We were just really impressed with Zakk and what a family guy he was,” Lesli said.
On his website, Wylde talks about never forgetting the excitement of rock ‘n’ roll.
“You’ve still gotta listen to music with a 14-year-old’s ears. Remembering when you were like, ‘dude, we’re going to see Zeppelin this weekend!’ That’s what it’s all about, man.
“If what I do inspires some kid to pick up a guitar and jam, that’s the s—, without a doubt.”
Brayshaw, who was on only his fourth lesson, says he’ll keep it up.
“He’s like my idol now. I just want to be like Zakk. He treated me like gold and he treated my family like gold.”
Looked like a Gibson to me, it said “Gibson” right on the head stock, I guess I should get my eyes checked.
They must have swapped out the Epiphone for a Gibson in the photo on the front page of the entertainment section in the Star Phoenix. I like the Epiphone better anyways.

You know what, I just looked through my photos from that day at the guitar shop and it IS an Epiphone. All I saw was the Gibson pointy inlay thingy and never looked past that.
It’s an Epi, I stand corrected. Same difference, shitty guitar, should have picked up a Les Paul or something with some balls.
And the Berserker movie comment was from an interview that I read. Who the f*ck am I to be quoting something I read anyways, right?
I saw it on the internet, therefore it must be true. 😉
Thanks for the info. 😈
Hey Big what guitars do you have?
Hello
home
anybody
Hey Bret, how’s the Weekend of Fire coming along?
Buddah, believe me, you can NOT miss the Weekend of Fire!
How is it looking for your attendance?
Epiphone by Gibson is similar to the Squire/Fender line. Chinese made imitations by pro standards, but a nice foot in the door for a kid or those on a budget.
Heya Big, long time, no see. 18 months on the 26th buddy.

Honestly I just don’t know. I just put a bid down on a duplex and I just will not have the cash to do much. I will try, but its about 20% that I will be there at this point. 🙁

Yeah, I’m, well aware of the Gibson/Epi thing, but when he’s right he’s right. Splitting hairs, but hey WTF do I care, I would have grabbed a vintage Les paul and they had on the wall. Even better I wanted a Brian Setzer series Gretsch, but no cashish to make it happen. 🙁
Back to things that really matter…Congrats on the 18 months it’s never easy, trust me. One day at a time. 3100 days for me as of today. I’ve had a couple of bad days in the last 100 or so, even considered jumping off the ol’ wagon a few times as of late, but I can’t screw up my winning streak!!
God speed AJ.
