To date the HSB has recieved over 2,500 comments on 766 posts, a considerable leap from our stats in October of 2005 (536 posts and 575 comments). One dull night I got to tinkering with some of the SQL information and after a few pivot tables and vlookups I finally got an accurate count of comments by person. The comments were counted by email address (which is inputed when a user leaves a comment) and not by the name of the commentor since several commentors have the same name (Ryan & Ryan B, Adam & Adam2 etc…). Over 700 people have left at least one comment on the HSB and for that we here behind the scenes thank you.

Spell check is a little harder to implement on the comments side of things, but I’ll keep it in mind.
A running list of the top 20 commenters (minus myself) has been added to the left hand side, under the recent comments section. Again, it’s based off your email address.
The name displayed is based off the name left in the first comment you left – I’ve gone back and changed a few already (chris to chris k., Randy to Randy aka MSK, John to huvason, Kevin to thakswet etc…). If there are any other name changes to be made, just let me know.

The comment count updates automatically when your comment is approved & published – so it’s as ‘real-time’ as possible.
Hey Nick, I;ve noticed a couple times recently that comments I’ve left were aproved and posted right away. Are you able to see what we’re typing as we’re typing it? Some times they won’t show up til the next day when I post at night time here. Figured you gotta sleep some time which would explain that one.
Ryan – No, I’ve enabled some comments to be auto-approved, so it speeds up the publishing process.
Tracy – to help put an end to your confusion, no, the commenter list, as far as I’m concerned, means I don’t have much of a life. I work anywhere from 40-50 hours a week at what’s supposed to be a Mon-Fri 9-5 job. My wife is the manager of a salon, and her schedule is all over the place. With 2 kids ages 7 and 10, I have to spend most of my time off work at home with them while the wife is working. I use this as my “break time” 🙂

Well I was going to post 1 word at a time (a Mad_Reilly cheasy trick) but Nick and the techie grurus beat me to the punch 1 comment per 15 sec. Speaking of needing a drink. I tried CaJohns frost bite on my finger when my friend Dan just got it, and it was weak! I was so disapointed I acctually moped around! anyway. A month later, the day before my 21st, I made myself a RUMRUMRUM & Coke which is as it would seem 3 shots rum, 1 shot diet coke. and my friend got the great idea to throw five or six drops of weak and tamed frostbite in. I have never felt such pain. Not 5 Drops of MadDog357 Special on a chicken wing, not then after which dying crying, and rubbing it in my eye/lips/face; getting icy/hot medication on my lower extremeties due to a stupid bet (that i won); Hurt as bad as my lips did. But I piledrived through all 1 million of those capspacion (spellchecker lol). I woke up with swollen chapped lips of death. It was a painful experience which ill probably just end up doing again for those darn rushing of endorphins that I love so. ( i hope the comment makes sense as its a small little box im writing into and am just rambling)
