Just saw an open bottle of 4AM on ebay. It was #642. When the 4AM came out I orderd it DIRECTLY from Blairs site. My 4AM number bottle is #642!!! Also it looks like on Blairs site the pic he uses is #642 but it looks different from either of the OTHER 2 #642 4AM’s. Why is there so many of the #642??? Didnt think this was supposed to happen. Thanks, Scott.
Your right. What’s going on here>>??
??? what is up with that???
I dont think this is the case here, but I was just thinking about Blair’s numbering scheme the other day. We all accept the fact that the bottles are hand numbered in “gold” ink. How do we know if the numbers aren’t ever wiped off and re-written. (I mean on the bottles that frequently change hands on ebay). The only proof we have is the # on the bottle and everyone knows a low # means more $. Maybe Blair should include some sort of certificate or something that would match the bottle #. It would make it harder to deceive someone and you would know your # is authentic.
By the way, I got mine from Blairs site and it is written in SILVER ink. I know its not a fake because it came from Blairs site itself when 4AM first came out.
I guess Blair never thought his sauce would sell for big bucks. I saw a whole set of all the AM, Caldera, Holiday Reserve, and Halloween Reserve 2004 for $3500 bucks! Man I could use the money but I would never sell my hot sauce enspecially all my Blair’s – took me too long to collect all of them. Thank God my wife hasn’t seen how much this stuff is worth – It would be gone by the time I get home. Hey doe’s anyone know anyone selling any of Dave’s Private Reserve? I feel like a trator talking about Blair and Dave’s stuff (Blair F%$&ing Rules) but I just need 2001 to complete my set. Oh Blair usually uses silver ink execpt for Caldera
I just need a 1995 daves to finish my set. I dont think I will be getting that one any time soon. LOL
I don’t know how these blogs work or if you’ll even get this, but I have a 95 Dave’s and two 97’s.
How much is this stuff going for?
Too bad I wasn’t on earlier, there was one for sale the other day (a 1995) on ebay bidding started at $300 or to buy it outright for $1500. I don’t know if your that much of a chilihead
Im thinking about putting my #67 out of 73 pre production Mega Death sauce on ebay. What do you guys think I should get out of it IF I do put it on ebay?
I say keep it but if you want to sell it give me a shout. I have a gripe about people getting hot sauce just for profit, but the again that’s the American way! I guess I wouldn’t have half my sauce (and a bit more of my money) if it wasn’t for ebay. My wife certanly would be alot happier. I would’nt part with mine because so few were made but I’d guess you can put it up for 2G’s. That’s alot of scratch for hot sauce. Some lad has been trying to sell all the AMs, Caldera, Holiday Reserve 2004, and Halloween Reserve for like $3000 min bid. I don’t think he had any takers (well I threw in a bid for $500 to see what happens – I’d be locked out of the house).
I really dont want to sell it. But if I got enough for it I MIGHT. It is really one of the rare ones. I hate having 2 hobbies. #1 is collecting hot sauces and #2 is drag racing. Both of them cost a bit. I just need a set of cylinder heads for my car right now and the only thing I can think of is to sell one of my sauces. 🙁
Scott,
I just acquired a 1995 Dave’s Insanity. If you have something I want, we can consider a swap of some kind. Contact me through my blog. Thanks!
Also for Mad_Reilly…I’m fairly certain Dave didn’t make a 2001 Private Reserve. Your collection is likely complete without it.
Here is something interesting on ebay!!!!
Heres the link to it.
I have a dave’s private reserve 2001 #256 bottle never opened. In crate. No caution tape. Anyone interested
. Make offer or emailme and Ill send you a pic
Dave’s insanity 2001 private reserve–lmstuff@charter.net for sale
I have a 1995 Dave’s Private Reserve that I’m selling. I started to get into collecting hot sauce in 1995 and it started and stopped with this bottle. I’m now trying to simplify. I have no idea what this is worth. Any ideas? I may just put it on ebay and see what happens.
I slipped off the caution tape finally to look at the bottle last night for the first time ever. It’s bottle number 3807, Dave’s signature looks a little worn but is still visible. The sauce looks like more of a paste that can’t be meant for consumption any longer.
Thanks!
