So after last nights massacre of emans emotions the wife and I set out on a hot sauce buying spree. We made a trip up to an incredible store in St.Charles MO called FIGUERO’s and met John the owner. WOW, not only an incredibly nice man but what a hot sauce connoisseur!!! We talked a while and exchanges war stories and he agreed to doing an interview this week. So,not giving away too many details, keep a look out for this hot sauce legend!
Oh, by the way, this is what we got.
Feeling much better now

Those log cabin sauces are getting scarce, good find. Oh, and that Unbearable is made by Jim – the guy that broke your heart last night 🙂
Nice purchases Eric! How much was the truck? that’s on my hit list and I always comparison shop
Yeah we found out who made the Unbearable as we were checking out. Kinda makes a cool story.
This shop had a couple trucks left and a couple log cabins. The truck was $19.50.
Jim Campbell is first class in my book!! He doesn’t seem to get anywhere near the credit that he deserves in his sauces…DIEHARD CHILEHEAD!!!
Nice little shopping spree eman.
Thats kind of what ryan and I both did last weekend. (picked up some sauce)
There’s only one hot sauce shop in Oregon that I know of, but it’s 100 miles away and over priced, so i have to rely on the net for most of my purchases. The closest thing to a hot sauce shop that is close enough for a drive is a Le Gourmet Chef
Nice haul eman. Expect the 2am soon as well!
Ryan – Wayyyy down by Grants Pass is a hot sauce shop inside a kitchen supply store. Last time I was there, there wasn’t much to write about – but it’s in the state of Oregon at least.
still a good 200-300 miles away from me, but thanks Nick.
That’s one hell of a road trip for a crappy store. Now if there was only a sauce shop in the NY area?
I know there were alot of hot sauces down in New Orleans for me to pick from. But last time I was there I wasn’t that in to collecting yet and I don’t care to go back at the moment. But I will go back cause there were a bunch!!
You’re telling me. There was a shop in Lincoln City that I went to a few times when I lived on the coast here, but it has since closed 🙁
What is the name of the “log cabin” hot sauce above? I haven’t been able to find one for purchase online, etc. Any help in tracking one down would be appreciated.
On a side note, also looking for the lava dome one that was in another picture in some other thread here on HSB.
Thanks in advance!
The Log Cabin hot sauce says: Smokehouse Chipotle and it is by CaJohns Fiery Foods. They still have some at Figuero’s in St. Charles, Missouri. They have a website: figueroshotsauces.com
thanks honey..is she good or what!
eman-you should send the bottle of Assplosion to pmac…I think he could relate to the graphics right about now…
I’ve got the belt tabasco holder in black and camouflage. Never camp without it.
If only there was a place in Toronto to some shopping like that!!!!!
Tracy, yeah, I could’t pass that one up!!!!
The truck is “Truckin Hot” that’s from the early batches. The new ones have a label that makes ’em look like a CaJohns semi rig. I hope you have a bottle of the Original Irish Scream, since you bought one of Boyle’s Blarney…
That redone with the leather bollo on it = sux0rz red vinager
What are those silver and gold tabasco bottles?
Hey INCaneFan, Im the one that just got the Lava Dome. I Got mine form PepperPalace.com. I was informed that they might have one more left. The one I got a month ago was also signed by Cajohn. 🙂 Just goto there website and look in the letter “L” for Lava Dome to find it. Thank Cajohn because his wonderfull staff found them for me.
All this time driving from Florida to Nebraska and I didnt even know about that place. It is right off of I70, the road that I take to NE. Next time im gonna stop there!!!!
Eman – U DA MAN! The Goodalls stuff is crap. I like HP sauce better (not at all hot.) The Unbearable is pretty damm hot. And stock up on the Blair’s. Good stuff!
There should be a place in/near Toronto… Pete’s Pepper Palace? They bought some stuff from a couple of times. They’re in Burlington.
Cool, Jim is now on the Blog.
Scott-Everyone at some point is on the blog 😛 Not a question of if, but when 🙂
who ever asked about the gold and silver tabasco sauces. the gold one is tabasco soy sauce and i’m not sure what the silver one is i’m a little curious about it as well anyone know?
the silver one is a teriyaki sauce
fred, see post under eman in reviewers
I can’t say enough good things about Figuero’s in St. Charles. John & Lisa are really top notch people and the selection of sauces are second to none.
