MSK – Surprise!
MississippiSauceKing.com is now live and fully functional – this site was created for MSK as a surprise effort dedicated to his autographed collection.
What is it?
Esssentially, it’s a web-based collection interface. Once I walk MSK through the site, he’ll be able to add each bottle in his collection to the database and they will be displayed on the Sauce Listings page. This will allow for manufacturers to see if they are listed in his collection and for the rest of the world to drool over it.
Take a moment and check it out. Let me know if any errors stand out. The site is pretty barebones right now as I spent the majority of the time developing the backend/interface.

I came into the house filthy a** dirty from working in the yard all morning and couldn’t resist checking the email and the HSB. First up is an email from Nick titled “MSK Site”. Thinking it was the type subject that should read “Check this out”, I open it and see right off

As I clicked on the link I managed to mutter one “What the hell?” before the site burst onto the screen. I sat staring with mouth open for a good ten minutes in absolute disbelief!
I don’t mind at all telling you, the introduction actually moved me the point of tears. For Nick and his assistants to do this for me is one of the greatest events I’ve ever experienced in my entire collecting career. This goes to show the caliber of friends one gains while being involved in this industry. Then too, I have no doubt it would be the same had I met all of you in other ways.
I also have to say that CaJohn, who knew about this all along, was able to keep it an absolute secret 🙂 You see, my bud John has a tendency to drop hints to me about certain things he knows, but doesn’t want to disclose. Certainly drives me crazy 🙂 I have to say…He kept this one close!!!
YOU GUYS ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST FRIENDS A MAN COULD HAVE!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, there’s plenty of them around here. White Castle’s are an amazing food (?) product. It’s the only food that smells the same going in as it does going out.
There’s more than a few of them around here MSK. We’ll add a stop to one of them on your list of things to do when you visit here.

Fire Department Instructors Conference- one of the largest conventions the city hosts. 30,000 firefighters from around the world show up here to learn, party, attend class, drink, and more than a few buy hot sauce 😉 I’ll be at the convention center all that week helping to sell sauces for two different charities.
Let me know if you discover an alternative for me.
Last night I began to list all of my CaJohns stuff. Tonight I’ve have most of their photos in there as well.
If anyone has a look let me know if it appears ok to you.
Aren’t many alternatives- you can stand in the booth with me and help sample sauce and laugh at folks who should know better 🙂

While it’s been a long arduous challenge, I finally have a number of viewable items on my website. There you’ll find an extensive list w/pics of 140 sauces ranging from CaJohns early days to those presently in production.
With regards to the information that accompanies the sauce title and photo, all other information is incomplete. So it’s pretty much a picture show at this point. There’s also a number of their items yet to be included. Those will be entered in due time.
In the next few days I’ll begin work on the other manufacturers in alphabetical order.
I’ll be around later today for any questions. Right now I “HAVE” to take care of things around the house and elsewhere before my wife kills me.

Thanks guys! A pic of the entire collection isn’t possible at the moment. I’m in the process of reworking how it’s all displayed and a lot of it is packed away. Especially all CaJohns stuff. That portion of the collection is going to have it’s own special display area. In all I have well over 500 signed bottles and expect (hopeful is a better word) to have close to 1,000 by this time next year. Soooo….I have a real need to maximize space to display them all.
That bottle is something to be envied MSK…. it’s beautiful 😀

“Eclipse” is a name Randy has given it. We already have an “Eclipse” bottle, It’s a Sunburn half covered in black wax. But it’s OK for him to name it whatever he pleases. After all, He IS the “King”… 😉
