Pequin Peppers Source?

Question from a reader:

Hello,

I love your site very cool! I am contacting you today to ask about a specific pepper. I can’t seem to find pequin peppers any more and I was wondering if you knew a good site for purchasing the pequins and other dried chilies.

Any help would be appreciated

Michael

A bit depeneds on how much you want to pay for them 😉 Pequins are small, which means ‘labor intensive’, and they are also a very ‘wet’ pepper, which means ‘zippo dried weight’ when compared with the fresh weight. You can email me off blog for a short negotiation- I think I have some dried ones left. Or, you’re welcome to come to my fields the last weekend in September and help yourself to all of them you care to pick for free. E-mail is jim @ wildpepper . com Be sure to put ‘chiles’ or something like that in the subject header.

chilly chiles in Ottawa, Ontario have a large variety of dried peppers including the fiery Pequin. Their website is http://www.chillychiles.com.

Personally I would grow them….even if you don’t have a garden these peppers do well in containers and can be over-wintered as well.

ps…Jim a trip to indiana sound intresting 🙂
