GNAW Gnorfolk Chilli Chocolate

GNAW make a very extensive range of flavoured chocolate bars you only have to visit their web site to see they have added almost everything to chocolate. Most of the Chilli chocolates we get to taste are dark chocolate, this one is a little unusual in that it is a milk chocolate and raspberry and Chilli.

I picked this bar up on a recent trip to Cambridge and had the fun of visiting Hardy’s Original Sweet Shop with my daughter. As I open the packet I cannot smell chillies and chocolate, but a very pleasant waft of raspberries, The first flavour is also raspberries as the chocolate melts on the tongue, then the chilli starts to come to life, it is not setting my mouth on fire heat, but complements the raspberry and chocolate perfectly.

Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Chilli Flakes (0.4%), Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin), Flavouring (Natural Vanilla, Natural Raspberry Oil).

It is a combination that was very unexpected, raspberry and chocolate fantastic, but add a little bit of chilli and it gets a whole new lease of life. The only very minor down side is there are little dry pieces of the chilli in the mix that get left over, maybe they need to use a chilli powder or a finer chilli flake.

I love the packaging on this chocolate, it is simple and effective and looks good of the shelf. At £2.99 for a 100g of gourmet chocolate this is excellent that is  if you don’t treat like an every day bar. You can find a list of stockists on there web site www.gnawfolkchocolate.co.uk
