There is hot, and then there is the kind of eye-tearing, forehead-sweating, mind-bending hot that causes you to cry for your mommy.
Habaneros and ghost peppers will do that to you.
What, you thought I was talking about the weather?
On the latest Munchmobile expedition, we pushed – no, tore up – the envelope, going where no Muncher had gone before: the world of hot and spicy foods.
Sure, we had done Thai, Indian and other fiery fare in the past, but a trip devoted to Scoville units, Scorned Woman and Colon Cleaner? The latter two are among the dozens of hot sauces available at Big Daddy’s in Little Falls, the first of five stops.
We sampled Cluck-U Chicken’s hottest wings, and tried what restaurant described as “excruciatingly hot” curry.
We dared, not dithered. Tongues burned, taste buds were temporarily rendered inactive. Chalk it up as research for the ongoing scientific experiment that is the Munchmobile.
