Ingredients:
Red Peppers, Strawberries, Habanero Peppers, Distilled Vinegar, Water, Garlic, Mustard, Modified Food Starch, Salt, Ginger, Sugar
Appearance:
The bottle comes with a nice bright pinkish red color graphic with deep yellow sunburst label. It matches well with the pureed red orange peppers used to make the sauce.
Smell and Taste:
The fragrance of habanero overpowers any suggestion of strawberry and has a mild but expected scent of vinegar. The taste is immediate prominent habanero with a very light sweet aftertaste, followed by the warming heat of the pepper combination. I’m still searching for the strawberry flavor but I know it’s there, as it says so on the label. It is very faint…but done well. May be more of a mean heat to others but I found it still to be a medium and good.

What to Expect:
Expect a nice thick-pouring sauce with lots of body, and crunchy pepper bits that bring on the heat upon contact. No waiting, and the heat seems to elevate after repeated tasting. This sauce has a clean crisp taste…fresa!!!
Final Word:
Mama Pearl’s Hot Sauce is a good gourmet hot sauce worthy of a try, and I am certain it will taste different when paired with certain foods. Just keep in mind that this is not a sweet sauce like I was expecting, since it is touting the Fresa name. For this sauce, strawberry is the vehicle in which the pepper flavor is delivered.
