Official info from West Dean Regarding the change of date

As I’m sure many of you are aware, it’s been unseasonably rainy this year!
Having assessed the ground conditions here at West Dean, and checked the forecast for the next few weeks, we have come to the conclusion that we are not able to run the Chilli Fiesta at the end of July.

Therefore we are moving the Chilli Fiesta to the August Bank Holiday weekend – Saturday, Sunday and Monday 25 – 27 August.
Opening hours: Saturday 10:30 – 18:00; Sunday and Monday 10:30 – 17:00

We hope that you can make this move with us.

Naturally we would have preferred not to reschedule the event but, given the unprecedented rainfall in this area (50% more rain for year-to-date than average and 24 inches in the last four months alone!) we feel that in order to run the best show we can for our thousands of visitors this is the best option.

As part of our land management responsibilities, we have a duty to ensure that we minimise any potential damage to our historic Grade II* listed landscape.

The event will be same – lots of lovely chilli food, live music across two stages, food demos and tastings – the only difference is the date.

I do hope you can join us. All those who have already booked are being contacted separately by email.

All the best for a Hot! Hot! Hot! Chilli Fiesta.

The Chilli Fiesta Team

Note: If you have already purchased tickets and you cannot now make it to the event West Dean are offering a full refund, or you can switch to another day if that helps, please check your email address for more details or contact West Dean directly
