Just a few close ups of some of the vintage labels.

These vintage sets have to be some of the coolest labels I’ve ever seen! Blair put in a ton of work to “resurrect” these labels and the effort can now be seen by all the chileheads out there in the world. Man these are sweet looking bottles. Oh, and each set contains a signed Sweet Death from Blair as well (not a vintage label). Just a gift from one of the world’s biggest chileheads.
Thank You Blair for all the effort and love that went into producing fine collectors items.

Wow, those are awesome! I can’t wait to get mine!
Very cool.
It’s weird that there is a “vintage” Jersey Death Sauce label. Jersey Death came out last year. Maybe that was an original design for it? Also, there are 6 bottles not 5!
[Comment ID #32921 Quote]
An extra bottle doesn’t hurt my feelings ๐ I don’t know about you though. They look great I cannot wait to get my as well!!!
[Comment ID #32925 Quote]
LOL – As i’ve said in the past – I won’t send it back! ๐
[Comment ID #32925 Quote]
I guess I should actually read the post Nick typed:
“Oh, and each set contains a signed Sweet Death from Blair as well (not a vintage label). Just a gift from one of the worldโs biggest chileheads.
”
OH YEAH.. THANK YOU BLAIR
These look awesome. Now just to sit and wait for the parcelforce man! I haven’t got a sweet death so that will fit in nicely ๐ Thanks Blair!
The waiting game is always the worst part, I hope to get ours soon. We also ordered some other stuff with it- should be a nice big box!!
i got the gardners 1/99 i almost wet myself when i saw it! i got my shipment yesterday so you should all be getting yours soon
[Comment ID #32944 Quote]
Nice MikeG, that is a number that still to this day eludes me.
Keeper for life!!! ๐
Yeah me too. I haven’t scooped up a 1/whatever yet.
The lowest number I have of anything is a 7/999 Le Million (which I paid $49 for….lol). ๐
VERY COOL. It makes me look at our labels and wonder if one day we’ll ever release them as ‘vintage’ labels. lol.
yea thats my first number one of anything, for me personally im not interested as much in the number, i just like having one. The closest i had b4 this was my #32 caldera. What i like about how this set came was each bottle had different numbers. so one person wouldnt have all the #1’s 2’s etc
Yeah MikeG, there are gonna be 50 happy people, because single digit and 99 are the ones most desire to some extent. And seeing as there are 45 single digit and 5 99’s ๐ half approximately will get something that much more special.
[Comment ID #32956 Quote]
Correction….and my appologies.
There WILL be 99 very VERY happy people.
Just that some will have that extra jolt to see something like that in their collection! ๐
[Comment ID #32949 Quote]
same here. I have a finishing number but not a #1.
Are people gona post the #’s they get on here?
I dunno but if they do I will make a spread sheet and shoot it off to Nick every couple of days if he wants to do that ๐
pmac…Accountant by day … master number tracer in diguise by night!!! Dahdada!
p.s. and poor speller.. tracer = tracker
number tracer sounded so much more mysterious pmac
[Comment ID #32952 Quote]
I just had our label designer guy leave with the new labels for our grocery store. Anyone wants our old labels, there’re only a few left and selling them off would keep Michael from having to wash the bottles.
T
[Comment ID #32968 Quote]
Do I hear ebay?
[Comment ID #32962 Quote]
pmac, i am an accountant also! gotta love working those 80 hour weeks and getting paid for 40. i know i do!!
[Comment ID #32969 Quote]
That sounds like more work than simply letting Michael wash the old labels off! Hmmmm, maybe Muso will want to auction them… brb.. gotta send an email.
T
[Comment ID #32965 Quote]
tracer it is then!!! Dunnda dahh
I still haven’t gotten mine yet, and it was charged like a week and a half ago. :/
A week and a half… And I thought Canada Post was slow… how’d they send it… Pony Express???
hehe
T
Got mine today along with a $ 45 dollar Brokerage bill from UPS, Blair please ship USPS to Canada brokerage is only $ 5 that way )!

Got mine today Jersey Death 1/99, Sudden Death 12/99, Sudden Death w/chipotle 45/99, Gardener’s Death 23/99, Sudden Death w/Ginseng 34/99 Plus the freebie
This is a great collection,THANKS BLAIR, The packaging was awsome
I think I’m gonna be sick! I had to cancel my order. ๐ Congrats to those that received theirs. I got close to getting in on this, third times a charm (I missed the ’93 death sauces flat out), that’s what I’m going to keep telling myself anyway. ๐
[Comment ID #33135 Quote]
Sorry to hear it man. More opportunities will present themselves. They always do:)
[Comment ID #33135 Quote]
I think you shall hit the jackpot one day!
[Comment ID #33135 Quote]
I know how you feel. I’ve had to miss out on quite a few things lately, including the ’93 Death. Good things come to those who wait my friend.
[Comment ID #33135 Quote]
Without a doubt- keep the faith and your eyes peeled, the next big release is just around the corner- they have been coming at us pretty quick lately. ๐
Bad thing was, I was in, had to cancel at the very last minute. ‘Puter went down, been using a loaner. Got the new one going today though, man this thing is fast! Compared to my old dinosaur I was using anyway.
Thanks guys, I’ll get the next one(s). But man those bottles are cool! I’ve been staying away from the blog today just to keep from seeing them! Caught a glimpse of them this morning just before leaving to work, been down all day. I thought I felt bad when I called to cancel the order, but seeing them in the pics is just ….. ๐ Maybe I can just print the pics and put them on the shelf? The one that got away!
[Comment ID #33152 Quote]
We do know someone else that have done that with another certain Blair’s sauce ๐ So it is perfectly normal man
[Comment ID #33157 Quote]
Yep, I’m feeling no shame! ๐
Hmmmmm, Interesting. Check the link out.
eBay Link
I’d just like to say that even though a bunch of eBay auctions are now linking to the HSB – that is not an endorsement from the HSB to those auctions, they are just linking on their own – pmac started it and a bunch of folks are jumping on the bandwagon. I’m fine with the link as it directs folks that may not otherwise find the HSB here, but please don’t think that because an auction links to the HSB that we vouch for the auction or endorse it.
.. ๐
[Comment ID #33449 Quote]
Good point Nick, That’s amazing- some of us have not received ours yet and some folks are selling theirs off already. No time to sleep around here, better be fast or you’ll be last.
[Comment ID #33454 Quote]
Yeah but thats crazy. No one in their right nond would jump on on that auction, people wanna have a chance for a good price, it should start low and if anything have a reserve, that way there is a second chance offer possibility :). (just tips for the one listing it) because there most likely will be several if not more up for sale, just like b99 n59, they are just as “rare” so to speak, and others will be offering up a couple bottles for those that dont wanna drop too much money and still share the collection.
P.S. I must say though to the person listing, good luck all the power to you. I hope it sells for you, especially based on the reason, sounds like you wanna go to the zest fest maybe ๐
[Comment ID #33099 Quote]
I have started the spreadsheet ๐ Got the gardners #1 and HenryKs the ones on eBay I cannot see. there looks to be a #6 of one bottle but I do not know what bottle it is.

damn stupid tax!! I get my return and then they take it back when i get my sauces!!
#5!!!!!! that’s my lowest # yet!!
Thanks guys. No one has a bottle listed yet over #49
[Comment ID #33490 Quote]
Did it give you that extra special feeling i was talking about?! :):):)
The worst part is, I probably will not see mine for a couple weeks ๐
As they have an item of mine and they will be shipping it out with the bottles to save on shipping.
It’s killing me!!! ๐ But at the same time ๐
[Comment ID #33493 Quote]
the feeling came after I saw it for sure…it took away from the fact the ups guy was driving away with my cheque.
[Comment ID #33494 Quote]
You never know, you might end up having some special bottles over 50 in there ๐
[Comment ID #33477 Quote]
[Comment ID #33099 Quote]
will do when i get home from work! however i think my numbers are EXACTLY the same as above except for on different bottles, i could be delerious, but those numbers look so familiar. …. or it could have just been a long week
Don’t hate me folks but I have a new member to my number 1 club. It looks like for the most part that the numbers are spaced out 11 apart. Thakswet seems to be the only exception so far.
Sudden Death – #1
Gardenerโs Death – #12
Sudden Death w/ ginseng – #23
Sudden Death w/ chipotle – #34
Jersey Death – #45

[Comment ID #33519 Quote]
me too. I know people say the #’s don’t matter, but I’m sure everyone would agree that just one #1 would be awesome
[Comment ID #33524 Quote]
Agreed, I would love to get a #1 sometime. My day will come and I wil get one.
We got:
Sudden Death Sauce with Ginseng- #1
Sudden Death Sauce with Chipotle- #12
Jersey Death- #23
Sudden Death- #34
Gardner’s Death Sauce- #45
thanks eman :):):)
well that just leaves the chipotle #1 remaining, so that must be the one I got ๐
ha ha ha … yeah right, good luck with that, etc etc
… ๐
If your looking for something #1 watch on ebay sunday vary rare. Maybe even a #3 maybe #5 all Blair’s. and it’s not from the vintage set.
[Comment ID #33541 Quote]
i like your thinking though…..maybe it’ll be worth the wait ๐ we can all hope…….until it’s found, you have just as much chance as anyone else
Just wondering, I know this is off topic but does anyone know much about the Blair’s japanese sauces i.e. I know he isn’t allowed to sell them in the US but can he sell them, to say, the UK? ๐
[Comment ID #33547 Quote]
I would thing if you e-mailed him and requested a signed set he would probably be able to accomodate you.
It is not for consumption so would be sold as a collector thing.
I would call Karin and ask her to hook you up ๐
[Comment ID #33548 Quote]
Thanks pmac…….I’ll get onto that asap……..now I really should revise
[Comment ID #33550 Quote]
Have you asked Nick if he has any Japanese bottles. He had them at one point I believe.
[Comment ID #33553 Quote]
I know he had the ones with the skulls……I want just the normal release ones (hopefully with a signature on the bottle) ๐
[Comment ID #33553 Quote]
[Comment ID #33555 Quote]
or do you mean Nick has normal ones too?
MattUK, I am on the phone with Karin, she is looking into it right now for you!
[Comment ID #33553 Quote]
Yeah but they were the 1/12 set for several hundered $ each pair.
MattUK:
Blair has requested (he is looking for you to see if there are any in house) that you e-mail Karin on Monday for them to follow up on this item for you.
Mark it urgent, it most likely will take several days for them to get back to you.
the email is karin at extremefood dot com
Regards,
pmac
Thanks pmac, will definately have to get onto that! ๐
[Comment ID #33561 Quote]
No, it is not just you thread seems chopped off brian.
[Comment ID #33560 Quote]
You better ๐ I hate wasting my calls for people that don’t follow up I paid long didtance for you to find out ๐ … let me know the answer Mr MattUK ๐
Thanks pmac!
[Comment ID #33544 Quote]
I will keep my eye out for it.

My numbers
Sudden Death with Gindeng 49
Sudden death 27
Jersey Death 5
Gardener’s Death 38
Sudden Death with Chipotle 16
So the 11 theory seems right
[Comment ID #33487 Quote]
Same here !…..same numbers as well
I just can’t believe a set for $1000.00 + on E Bay for the Vintage Set
that is someone needing $$$$$$$$$$. Sorry I cannot think of selling
any.
[Comment ID #33584 Quote]
I’ll be surprised if he gets that much in his first try but you never know! More power to them if they can get what they want cause that would be a nice profit:)

Hello All, I wanted to say that since 1989 I have produced many “Unique” “Reserve Type” Bottles but never before have I received so many messages from my Fellow Chiliheads of their Joy and Pleasure with the Vintage Collections. To you I Simply want to say THANK YOU for making what I do so Amazing. Hours and Hours of time Plus 17 years of history went into the sets and it is with my greatest pleasure I have a Chance to share them with you…..Feel Alive Your ChiliPal Blair

What do you say to the people who claim only a 15Mil top can be reached?
(only being a foxnews type here..)
I do have a question!!!!!
What is significance of the planet and the star in the skulls eye and do you have a name for him? like Guedo or something ๐
[Comment ID #33626 Quote]
…it was a joke, i still have them sitting here in front of me and don’t want to put them into “THE CABINET” yet. Still admiring them.
The New Reserve Coming in June and open for orders this month will be the last Reserve In my Current Bottle (Not Including 2am and 3am) The amount will be from 300 to 500 Bottles. All Future Reserves Including Halloween 2006 will be in a New Bottle. I am currently working on a custom Glass Mold for ALL Reserves in the Future
[Comment ID #33630 Quote]
Thats the bomb Blair, read my email i sent you a few days ago ๐
The Planet and Stars is Just more about “Feel Alive” I NEVER wanted to Skull to look very Evil
I had to twist all the shrink wraps slightly to the side so i could see the whole lable and the skull was not blocking them.
when’s the OCC bike coming?
My 16 Million Reserve is Exactly That. 16 Million . I am not aware of 15 mill?
Can I get a personal interview at your manufacturing plant anytime?
Would Love an OCC Bike….Gotta work on it….I think it would be a great show. Maybe we could bring in some Bloggers for input….I will try to Reach out to them this coming week
[Comment ID #33622 Quote]
When are you going to get some t-shirts in?? I have ordered twice and both times they have been out. I want to be sporting some Blair ware
So how did you get the ” Feel Alive” slogan but your trademark is a skull. Personaly i think they work fine together.
Will See what we can do Thakswet
can you give us an idea of how many bottles you sell per week?
also, can you call FoodNetwork and get a show anytime you want?
Hey MrFreeze, You are correct T-shirts have been out. I am not a pro at the clothing Biz. Everytime Shirts are produced our Stores order um up and we need more
Blair….called but you were gone….like your present? ๐
How’s your new additon to your family coming?
[Comment ID #33642 Quote]
I think you should reserve some for the HSB. Also I think it is great that you take time to post on this site, show’s you are really a chilihead and not just in it for the money. All though that is nice.
Eman, When I started Death Sauce in 89′ I always felt like watching people eat my sauce made them come to life…Eyes Wide Open…..Death alone is Morbid but with Feel Alive it is Passion
Well Blair, this is Paul MacDonald here aka pmac. I am the forever persistent thorn in Karin’s side :). And if you did not get to my e-mail yet, I would like to just extend my thanks for the recent item you have taken care of for me. It was/is truely appreciated, and once I get it home again will most definatley be a part of my wall of flame ๐
So from me, thank you for your time. I hope one day we can meet along with many others from here and have a beer together.
Kind Regards,
Paul

Blair, The 4am I was gonna send you for repair is in the good hands of Jim Campell. I traded him for his #278 2AM. I know he will be letting you repair it shortly. I gotta see some pics when it is done. I hated to see it go but Ive always wanted a low number 2am. Now I got one!!!!!!! ๐ My brother just got his Vintage set today. Wish I could have orderd mine.
scott can you get us the numbers for my spreadsheet ๐ and his nickname for the sheet?
sorry about that delay I am on a wireless labtop that is just not acting great
give us an addition 30 minutes?
here’s that post where you can praise other hot sauce manufactures… What’s your opinion. Who’s got shiat you like?
He got ——-
Sudden Death w/ ginseng – 42
Sudden Death – 31
Sudden Death w/ chipotle – 11
Gardenerโs Death – 21
Jersey Death – 9
His name on here is “ToddVA”
thanks scott.
Hey Thakswet, In answer to your question about stores…….That my friend is not a simple answer…….While I KNOW the Sauces would sell great in the Major Supermarkets, chains etc….It is much more complex….If I chose to go that path then I would saying f-u to the Hundreds and Hundreds of Gourmet Speciality Markets that carry my products…..These stores have supported me when I did not have enough money to make 10 cases of Sauce. If you turn around and then sell to the Walmarts of the world you destroy the “Special Nature” of the product….In my opinion of course..Much more to say but it would be a book
we currently have 2 people saying they both have #27 Sudden Death
How is this for stats…
…with the addition of the Cutting Room Floor and Vintage set…”THE CABINET” (when the cutting room floor gets here) will have 111 DIFFERENT BLAIR’S products!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many Many manufactures out there produce great stuff…..To name a few would not do it Justice
[Comment ID #33667 Quote]
good answer ๐
[Comment ID #33664 Quote]
The Super Target by me used to sell some of your sauces. Then about 2 years ago they stopped. I think I got the last 15 bottles of the Original Death they had. ๐
[Comment ID #33664 Quote]
never thought of it that way but it really makes sense!
nice move!

Getting in on this a little late, but oh well. Good evening everybody ๐
As for a book , I do not feel it is time yet…I have a strong belief in building strong roots over time…..I have watched some great products come and go because they think it happens overnight.I can Assure you it does not…I am not in any Rush to Build a Huge company. If it is meant to be it will be

I thak you for your time.. Please continue these
‘ask me anyting posts.’
I can’t wait to mean you.
Hey Ryan
Hey Blair, good to see ya join us for a bit
It sure seems like you have a level head on your shoulders Blair. I like the idea that you are sticking with the people that helped you get where you are today.(the specialty stores) Basically you are not selling out and sticking to your roots.
[Comment ID #33677 Quote]
The very funny thing about that, is there are a number of people that feel you are an industry GIANT.
But you obviously do not feel that way.
But compared to some (wonderful) backyard ma and pop shops I guess you would be a giant. So it is up to personal interpretation of what a giant is.
You have signed a TON of reserve bottles. There are only a few that I have seen that you have put “FEEL ALIVE” on the side. What makes you pick these few that you do that with? I think it is cool.
you are the dictator of sauces.. you should put a book out!
Hey Mr.Freeze, If you lose sight of why what you do works and start thinking you are bigger than you are….It spells a recipe for a quick end….Do the right thing and it will come back. In my opinion
Blair, so what is up with the eleven number in your vintage collection. First # plus eleven gets the second # and so-on. Is that a special number or something??
I only have one question for you Blair.
What do you feel has lead to your items (and most are) driving such a collectible market, while others out there will never see the types of prices at auction yours see, and theirs can be 10 years old and yours within a year? Just wondering if you ever wondered or had ideas on that, and if it was your plan or it jsut sort of happened?
Hey Scott, I have signed many reserves and you are correct only a few say “Feel Alive” the truth is I never write “Feel Alive at the time I sign…Usually what happens is I go into our wharehouse and see a bottle on the shipping line and decide to write “Feel Alive” just because
[Comment ID #33687 Quote]
Its just an easy way of putting the sets together since there are 99 sets and 99 is a multiple of 11
[Comment ID #33686 Quote]
I agree with you totally. It is nice to see some of the manufacturers post on this site, it shows they care about their customers.
[Comment ID #33690 Quote]
that ryan, he is so smart!!!

I crunch numbers all day…it just comes naturally ๐
[Comment ID #33693 Quote]
You were wearing the helmet…right? ๐
[Comment ID #33694 Quote]
LOL, that keeps my brains from leaking out my ears after a day at the office ๐
Hey Pmac, I am asked your question all the time…..Regarding pricing of Reserves…Of course it is nice to see but that is out of my hands. Each and every day more and more Chiliheads From around the find out about what we are doing.Fact is NO MORE 4am’s, 5am’s etc will ever be produced So If you have a growing number of collectors but the same number of bottles there really is only one thing that can happen to the value
Well…it’s been an hour…you still here Blair?
Blair, is their any of your releases that YOU think are more “pure gold” than others? and hey, what the #$#@$$ did you think this ever would happen?
Still Here….
Blair, my one and only question is, do you make a #0 that you keep for yourself, or do you number any that you keep at all?
Hey Ryan you will have to explain that one to me. 99 is a mutiple of 11. Isn’t 33 also a multiple of 11. 9×11=99, 3×11=33
What do you mean “Pure Gold”
[Comment ID #33698 Quote]
Not sure how to read that one…
Hey Ryan, I do not Number Zero (I might have though at some point who knows) I sometimes do keep number 30 of some reserves….Lucky Number
[Comment ID #33701 Quote]
…ow..your hurting my head..its friday
[Comment ID #33702 Quote]
Maybe what is your favorite bottle???
[Comment ID #33701 Quote]
Its the path of least resistance. Would you rather count by 11 over and over, or 33?
[Comment ID #33706 Quote]
Thats what I was thinking.
[Comment ID #33704 Quote]
Groov man, was just curious.
[Comment ID #33707 Quote]
Depends on what I am counting. I guess
My Favorite Bottle…Impossible to say…Each and Every Sauce, Label , Reserve, Snack , Etc has a special meaning to me and a different time of my life
Well, before you go Blair, just want thankyou for all you do for the industry and us!!! Keep up the killer work and FEEL ALIVE!!!!!!!!
I know i do!!

Im sure that would be a first for Blair, a 1 of 1 ๐
Also, Blair, see if you can top the 16mill mark and keep up the good work!!!!! Cant wait to see yur next project.
Scott, The New Reserve Bottle will be a very Modern Looking version of my current bottle but with sharp angles and a very High end Look…..With some Extra something something….You will see
[Comment ID #33715 Quote]
I suppose, if I were a manufacturer, I would mark mine with an Alpha and Omega ๐
Is there a product any of you would like to see me Produce….Would love your input

hummmmmmm….Blair?
mabe i will have him sign the baby at ZF ๐
[Comment ID #33726 Quote]
well Blair, I had habanero sorbet a couple of times and that whole hot cold thing is pretty cool. But thats a bit different from the “normal” hot sauce trail.
Also –For the Record—Many People think it bothers me that I sell a Reserve for $100 and it is quickly resold for 5 times or more .The Fact is We live in the United States of America and if you choose to sell your Reserves…More power to you…They will go to a Happy Home…….

All my best to all of you …..FEEL ALIVE BLAIR
LATER!!!!!!! Till next time.
All right fellas…got tonights trivia question….
…who is Gordon Shumway?
Thanks for the reply Blair. Have a good weekend. Good night to the rest of you as well.
Sorry wife and kid watching movie was forced to make an appearance :):):)
[Comment ID #33741 Quote]
peace out brother!!!!!!!!
[Comment ID #33743 Quote]
That would be the Gordon’s Fisherman ๐
[Comment ID #33726 Quote]
Sitting here thinking I have an idea, Blair you could make a shirt to go with all of the collectible bottles. So when you are lucky enoguh to get one like with the vintage collection for example you could toss in a shirt that states something like ” I am an official owner on the vintage colection” I don’t know something like that. That would be awesome.
I can’t wair until the time I can ask Blair point-blank on some great questions.
Aint’ he the best.?!>
Hi Everyone. I hope this is as good as it seems to be.
Because i can’t pull him away.
[Comment ID #33748 Quote]
Yeah, it is great that he pops on here for a good ole’ question and answer session
I think it’s funny how some people disappear when Blair arrives.
I was just mentioning that to the wife LOL
IYO what’s that’s about.?
I would rather not say, I might be wrong or my opinion might upset a few people I really like, so I will take the 5th on that one.
It could very well just be co-incidence!
[Comment ID #33746 Quote]
rrrrrrtt…try again
If I was you I’d rack it up as the same…Luckily for me. and I hate to say this in a way YOU (as a friend) they are silent cause the BOSS showed face.
[Comment ID #33755 Quote]
I would tend to think that’s it. If you’re refering to CaJohn, Jim, MSK, not all of you are up on current events and they’ve got other things going on that are far more important than this blog.
Nick, you should post the question/answer Blair’s as a post.
[Comment ID #33758 Quote]
Dude, you have SO much to learn
[Comment ID #33758 Quote]
Actually it was lucky for you if there were some silent onlookers out there, you had the ability go get a few questions answered because there were only us 4-5 guys on with him, I think all or most are in the top 20 commenters too…hmm kinda might say we all spend wayy to much time here ๐

It is a friday night, most people tend to go out or spend time with family. Not too sure where MSK would fit into all though. ๐
I would tend to think that some would not want to interfere, since really that is the first time I have seen him online to do a q/a session. But I could be way off base even with that answer ๐ I am glad, I have never spoken to Blair before and always wanted to ask him that question about why they are more valuable and what his opinion is on that.
Also wanted to say thanks just like i have to CaJohn and Jim a few times ๐ never had the chance before now.

[Comment ID #33751 Quote]
Well thak, I don’t really know what you meant by this, but I think you could take a few notes from those of us that make the sauce. I checked out earlier to go drain a few aluminum cans with another “maker”, Dude. We are a brotherhood here in the land of Chileheads, we don’t make innuendos, we don’t “compete” and we are not “intimidated” by any one of our fellow bretheren. We are a family, we stand together to produce products from the chiles that we love. We do it for you! I have the utmost respect for the one that’s just starting out, some of us have made a niche and some have excelled, that doesn’t make any one of us any better than the other! I’m sure Blair feels the same way. Blair talks of Karma, I would hate to think that you are passing “Bad” Karma, as it tends to come back at you tenfold! Don’t be coy, say what you mean!!!
[Comment ID #33877 Quote]
Now that’s what I like to see. Amen CaJohn. Way to lay the smack down ๐
[Comment ID #33877 Quote]
ahmen, CaJohn. I appreciate that you said that, some things were said last night that had me really down, your post and Ryan have really helped me accept the way things can be sometimes.

I can’t believe that I went out last night and missed Blair on here.. ๐ ..suppose there are always emails ๐
I “disappeared” because I’d promised the wife a nice dinner & candlelight ๐ Priorities ๐ She’s suppoting me in a *huge* adventure, which Nick has promised to post when I give him the okay, & I owed her some family time.
I think someone said it best when they said ‘respect’- a lot of us have chatted at length with Blair multiple times & have no reason to ‘step in’ and interrupt (or worse- redirect it at ourselves) the few conversations he has here on the blog. There are no competitors here- just alot of friends doing the same thing.

Have to go demo today. Everyone have a good one and play nice:)

Sorry for the confusion…..also sorry I missed Blair…I have one of his American Hot sauces in my collection that made made for 9/11 charities. Much like sauce for soldiers, some special sauces/ lables/ reserves for other charites would be cool….I would buy one for the cause and the collections coolness.
Since it scientificly proven that hot stuff improves blood circulation , the heart foundation might be a good start.
here is a thought, I think we have now 3 of us that all have the same numbers but different sauces of course, maybe if we find all five on HSB we could figure out trade or something between us all to get every bottle being the same numbers for our collections. That would be cool to have all 5 types with all the same numbers.
[Comment ID #33965 Quote]
the problem arises then though, who gets what numbers – theyre pretty evenly spread at the moment too
[Comment ID #33948 Quote]
Im not going here anymore (with you), but go ahead its your opinion.

wow mrs.pmac welcome and HI it is great!!!!! soon you’ll be as addicted as I ๐
[Comment ID #33807 Quote]
I’ll continue to keep him in my thoughts, I do hope he gets better
Good news and devastating news…. The good news first, I got the #1 Sudden Death w/ chipotle. Well, that is the only good news. The bad news!!! I got my box at the door. It looked fine, no damage on the outside. I picked it up and smelled a strong hot sauce smell. Thought there might be a problem. When I opened the box I found a MESS!!! The Gardners Death was broken and (since the bottles weren’t wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in packing peanuts) hot sauce was all over the inside of the box. Every bottle has sauce all over the outside and the labels look to be ruined. They are all wet from the broken bottle of sauce. That definately ruined my weekend. I was excited when I saw the box at the door. Didn’t think it was big enough to have the 5 bottles of Blair’s Vintage that I had ordered in it… Now I have to figure out if anything can be done with these. Hope everybody else gets their’s in 1 piece… This is devastating!!!
Here are my numbers:
Sudden Death w/chipotle #1
Jersey Death #12
Sudden Death #23
Gardners Death #34 (BROKEN)
Sudden Death w/ginseng #45

Graham.
If you like that sort of thing, I think you should contact CaJohn, his Lady Liberty RWB Bottle was originally made for the 911 relief fund as well. I believe he still has a handful for sale. number 100 is in there too. there were about 120ish made but originally supposed to be 2001, and the first 4 made were #1 9 11 and 911 but I think(correct me please John if I get it wrong) he ran out of one of the wax colors and had to stop in the ealy 100’s or the bottles were discontinued one of the two.

I think it is an interesting collection, it is his so he chooses what goes in it. He often askes my opinion, and thats nice. I really prefer hot sauce i can eat though.
I wasn’t really into it until Ryan got a package from TracyC and that was the beginning, I have started my own collection, and Ryan gets my opinion on stuff from time to time so it becomes a little mine too…. but we have different styles of what we collect or what we would like in our collections.
Most bottles are really designed well, so they look good. That matters when you have an entire wall dedicated to it:)
[Comment ID #34037 Quote]
That happy face looks wierd oops ๐ I collect candles and candle holders. But the hot sauce is fun too. Everyone has their own passion, thats what makes life interesting.
Well its officeial…Mrs. Ryan is an addict. She just left to make a quick run to the store and asked me to keep an eye on the blog for her. I started laughing and she said “I’m talking to Mrs. Pmac, shut up”…RIIIIIIGHT, like that’s the ONLY reason. She’s probably already having withdrawls ๐

the purses are very cool, I will take some pics for ya, and Ryan already said he would email em to pmac, I can’t wait until I get the bottles of CaJohns stuff I am coveting, they will be a nice addition to my purse collection ๐
[Comment ID #34049 Quote]
I would actually like to address this comment because I seems to come up more and more, even yesterday when the Blair 1-on-1 thig happened. It unfortunately caught me off guard because I would not want someone like him or CaJohn, or anyone else in the industry thinking I just sell these things for profit. I do in fact make some money here and there on bottles absolutely…However, let me be crystal clear when i say this…I do not take a dime home, I broker buy low sell high because I find track down do allot of legwork spend money on long distance calling places across several countries. ALL in an effort to improve my wall or rather display cabinet. If I did not do this there would be no way that I could afford the Caldera, Halloween ’04 10oz Death with White wax gold skull or Lady Liberty RWB #1 etc etc etc. I love these bottles, and do a lot of time investment to make it all happen. I hope some of you understand that, and I expect that some will not. But otherwise I would not have what I have today. Hell I do not even have a B-99 anymore, I traded it for something I felt was more important and unattainable, but I paid $500 for the B-99, so as you can see (i hope) there is alot of money tied up in my, and most, collections. We do not have the bottlomless pits for pockets though, so I have to do other things to get what I like! ๐
This was not intended to be defensive, but since my far better half is going to start coming online here, I see a better than average chance that we will in fact be meeting some of you down the road, and I do not want a reputation like that. It is not what we are about, selling for profit only. Its about the collection. I am really trying to see what I can do about ZF in September. I do not know the first thing about it though, and would if at all possible make a long weekend of it. Where who when etc. I havent followed it to date so i am a little out of the loop on ZF.
Kindest Rgards,
Paul
aka pmac
[Comment ID #34059 Quote]
That is fine i will see them there. Do you mind if i ask what are you picking up from CaJohn’s?
pmac,
Just for you info, I do not in any way think you are a horrible person for selling and or trading part of your collection for things that you would like to have more or are more expensive or are more sentimental, those that look down at you for that should probably look in a mirror and address some truths about themselves before trying to cast stones or insults, I look for the best deals on the bottles that I want whether it be for pennies (ha ha) or hundreds (more like it) some of these bottles people would think I am a nutball for coveting, or even buying, and I say Poo poo to them, it’s MY collection and I will collect WHAT I want. or give away or sell or whatever I choose to do with it, I have however made a few promises along with my hubby to never let certain bottles go up on ebay or sell or whatnot, because they were provided to us out of the goodness of someones heart, or otherwise. so pmac, I say do what you want to get what you want, as long as no bridges are burned, I sincerely hope to see you and the mrs.pmac and ZF please let Ryan and I know if there is something we can do to help in the meantime.
[Comment ID #34062 Quote]

My opinion, if someone wants to sell their stuff…GO FOR IT!!
Don’t worry about what anybody else thinks.
People sell for all sorts of different reasons. Some want to buy more sauces, some just simply NEED the money.

Early morning, but not too busy. I have a gig at the Old North Market here in Columbus. Had to be down there at 7:30 this morning. It wasn’t too busy… just tired, and hungry! I’ll be back after I whip up some dinner.
Evenin’ John! Another tough day blogging on the taxpayers’ dime ๐ Man I love this high speed cable!

Jim, is Franklin close to Columbus, In?? The headquarters of the company I work for (actually distribute for) is located there. Maybe you’ve heard of them? Cummins Engine Company.
Franklin is about 20 miles north of Columbus- I’m down there all the time. That’s where my kitchen was when I was making Johns’ stuff.
Yeah- I’ve heard of Cummins ๐
[Comment ID #34159 Quote]
Vic, you’re too cool to be real, fo’ sho’! At least you can do as told, I tried what pmac said, but the iMac don’t work that way!
You need to get them to send you over here- I’ll buy you lunch ๐
[Comment ID #34164 Quote]
I thought you might have, being a firefighter and all. From what I hear Cummins is pretty much the whole town. I’ve got a friend that is going to the Commons Mall and get me a bottle of Unbearable. I won’t have to pay any freight that way. Hope to see you at Zest Fest, I’ll bring the bottle and see if I can get you to sign it for me. I live near Fort Worth.
[Comment ID #34168 Quote]
When I get up there I will definately take you up on that offer. Thanks..
[Comment ID #34165 Quote]
I was just so impressed I did them, I am not all that good on the computer, and I have been seeing more and more of these smiles- I think they are neat- yeah the little things amuse me, so do shinny things but that’s a whole nother story. I could go on for hours- maybe I’ll fill you in some over a beer sometime………
[Comment ID #34163 Quote]
My brother and sister in law used to work for Cummins at a parts and distribution they have up here in Portland, OR
[Comment ID #34172 Quote]
Really?? Was that Cummins Northwest?? That’s what I do. I am the parts Inventory Control Manager… At Cummins Southern Plains..

Hey Ryan- how’s it going bud….
[Comment ID #34180 Quote]
Pretty damn good. How bout yourself? BTW, I found a sauce that we’ll be sending you guys soon as it arrives here. Can’t buy it at any retail locations, or on the internet…have to know the right people to get your hands on this puppy ๐
[Comment ID #34181 Quote]
Uhhhh, what is it?? ๐
. ๐ It’s a surprise. Nick has pics of it. Its a secret ๐
[Comment ID #34181 Quote]

[Comment ID #34184 Quote]
You’re most welcome in advance ๐ I love that emote too
[Comment ID #34169 Quote]
I’d be more than happy to sign it- it’d be my honor. Columbus is a bit more than Cummins. Arvin Meritor has sizeable operations there also. If he can’t find one at the Commons Mall, try the Columbus Visitors Center. Failing that, let me know & I’ll see if I can meet up with him to get him one.
[Comment ID #34183 Quote]
Very exciting stuff- the intreague, the mystery, the anticipation!
not sure I can handle it ๐
Hey Jim, How are you…..
[Comment ID #34192 Quote]
Fine, but a bit tuckered. I might have high speed cable on the government nickel, but they expect me to do other stuff to earn it ๐
[Comment ID #34191 Quote]
Well, if it gets to be too much, I can send you a sneak peak ๐
[Comment ID #34178 Quote]
Small world, don’t you think! Bring him along to ZF we can talk parts. ha ha…
[Comment ID #34195 Quote]
I hear you, and I can relate to the tuckered part as well- weekends are always rough in retail with very demanding long hours and appreciative hourds of happy shoppers ๐ฅ
[Comment ID #34189 Quote]
Jim, thanks for the advice. I’m supposed to find out on Monday if they got it for me. I’ll let you know. I appreciate your efforts. If worse comes to worse, I always find you at the ZF.
[Comment ID #34195 Quote]
[Comment ID #34198 Quote]
I can relate to both of you. Though both are primarily in front of a computer, I kinda have two jobs.
[Comment ID #34199 Quote]
Least I can do! Shame they’re not in town a bit longer- I’m due down in Columbus on Thursday.
[Comment ID #34196 Quote]

Using your brain drains you just as much as busting your hump all day- end of the month reports and numbers tracking wipes me out…
[Comment ID #34200 Quote]
I think that sometime next week, I’ll bet you’ll see that you probably can’t relate to *why* I’m tuckered ๐ ๐
Matter of fact- bedtime! Just got moved back onto the Engine for the rest of my 24 hours & they’ve been a bit busy today. Doesn’t bode well for the night shift ๐
Night all!

Yep, just went through a month end, and fiscal year end. The worst part is my eyes. Been a diabetic for about 20 years now and its starting to take its toll on me. Have had two lazer surgeries, and have two more to go. I have to squint at a lot of things.
Figures you’d show up as I leave ๐ People are going to start wondering why one is never on with the other ๐
Time for me to disappear now that CaJohns here ๐
[Comment ID #34206 Quote]
I know why you’re tuckered. My best friend is a contracted firefighter over in Iraq. Have a good one Jim
[Comment ID #34211 Quote]
That would kill ๐ก I bet you get a ton of headaches- sorry brother, that’s a large burdon you carry

[Comment ID #34214 Quote]
Used to migrains all the time…Since I started eating large amounts of high SHU hot sauces, I’ve only had a couple. As far as regular headaches go, I have two every morning…I call them kids ๐
I’m going to turn in early too, just like you taught me sir. I was on here at 2:40 AM, got up in time to be in Downtown Columbus at 7:00 AM, have to cook breakfast for 1200 (along with others, not just me) tomorrow, getting up at 6:00 AM again.
Hey this sounds like a “Blair’s” post! All those AMs, wait, I guess it’s a Blair’s thread! Oh well G’Night all!!!

Geez this is too weird Ryan, I too am diabetic. Only for about 8 years now, but still not fun. Mine is probably self caused, (too fat) but it does run in my family. I guess Mrs ryan is not too keen on the brother in law coming to town huh? I won’t make that mistake again..

Might be a dumb question, but what contest did you win? And do you know what you are getting?
[Comment ID #34263 Quote]
Ummm…. I rarely say this but, yup- that’s a dumb question ๐ That would be the ‘pimp your sauce’ contest which was nearly the undoing of the blog the last couple of months. Hard to believe you missed it, even as a late comer ๐
[Comment ID #34265 Quote]
Well i remember that one. Really cute entries………… Lots of stuff happens here though so its hard to keep track, but i will get the hang of it! ๐
Of that I have no doubt ma’am- welcome aboard, by the way ๐
Looks like someone here is gonna get my Limited Mega Death on Ebay. ๐ Ends in 30 minutes.
[Comment ID #34267 Quote]
Thank you for the welcome. I am happy to be here. ๐ ๐
I’m awake everybody (against my will). Mrs. Pmac, be glad you missed what happened with the pimp your sauce contest. I got a ship notice as well. It will be here on the 15th.
Yeah the guys in the contest were all jitters ๐
But its over now and they have all had their 15 minutes so to speak ๐
It was a long 15 minutes lemme tell you. ๐ฟ
[Comment ID #34271 Quote]
LOL. It was a 15 min. I could have done without, but I’m not one to walk away from a verbal battle.
[Comment ID #34270 Quote]
Were the neighbours listening to music too loud? I heard about the contest afterwards, so i did’nt really miss it. I just was’nt online yet.
[Comment ID #34273 Quote]
No, between my wife getting ready for work, a cat that is a total attention whore, and a chihuahua that needed to go potty, there was no chance of sleeping in. ๐
A cat AND a chihuahua OMG!!!!
[Comment ID #34275 Quote]
you’re telling me. the two of them are almost as bad as our two kids ๐
RIght now I have the cat on my lap draped over one arm (difficult to type) starring down at the dog begging to get up here too ๐

Hi all, a quick break from revision. I was actually looking into ZF the other day – my GF wants to go on holiday before we head back to Uni in october – so september just fell into my head ๐ Doubt I’ll be able to convince her tho…plus I couldn’t find flights to there…only new york etc….so would probably have to fly in then out from there..think it’ll be way too much $$$ tho
Mr. Pmac, Sent ya and Ebay E-mail. ๐
oh and I forgot to say hi mrspmac
[Comment ID #34278 Quote]
Can’t imagine that would be cheap. We’re on the west coast, and even with a 3-4 hour layover, its going to cost us aprox. $255 US per ticket.
[Comment ID #34279 Quote]
Pmac win the megadeath?
[Comment ID #34281 Quote]
Ouch….Think I might have to wait until I’m qualified and can properly afford it…..on that note – back to revision……speak later all

Hi MattUK
[Comment ID #34282 Quote]
Reserve wasnt met but sent him an offer.
[Comment ID #34285 Quote]
Reply sent via e-mail not eBay
[Comment ID #34285 Quote]
Saw that, that’s very cool of you. There’s been many auctions where I didn’t meet the reserve, but just a few dollars under the buy it now price and never heard from the seller. Hope you guys can come to an agreement that will make you both happy.
[Comment ID #34288 Quote]
We shall see. ๐ Bot no worries either way ๐ He is a good guy.
You are right Ryan, sometimes you bid or whatever, and trying to get the other side to communicate is near impossible. I am in that situation on eBay currently. I do not thing the seller has said a single word to me in my messages to him, however he is reponding very appropriately…hard to explain, but the guy is doing his best to make a happy customer.
[Comment ID #34290 Quote]
Now if only they would leave me positive feedback for fast payment, i would reciprocate ๐
I never leave feedback first when I am the buyer. (its a principal thing)
[Comment ID #34291 Quote]
I hate doing that myself. If I’m the buyer and pay right away (which I do) I’ve fulfilled my obligation and should receive feedback for right away for that. Is that how it goes? NOOOOoooooo ๐ I really hate it when sellers wait for you to receive the item and only leave feedback after I do.
Ryan we are in total agreement, I think most would agree with that. ๐
Sorry I was away for so long. I was outside in the kick ass weather doing some yard work. Im sending you a reply in a few Pmac.
[Comment ID #34294 Quote]

Hey Pmac, on the shelf with your Blair’s reserves, what’s that next to the white wax 10 oz. death on the left side? I know I’ve seen that before, but can’t remember what it is.

Oh Yeah – welcome mrs pmac!
I’ll be back on in a bit, got some catching up to do!
[Comment ID #34356 Quote]
It would be great if all industries were like that, but there would be no need for people like myself. Defcon knows how it goes, he’s in the same field I am (not the sauce stuff). There’s a lot of scammers, liars, cheaters, and thiefs out there and you just can’t be too careful these days in business transactions.
[Comment ID #34356 Quote]
Hello Jim. Got a few more converts fro your Habanero BBW sauce last night at my wifes BBQ. Giving it out in tupperware from my gallon jug! Going to need to order another soon.
[Comment ID #34356 Quote]
This is what makes this industry so great!! Trust and relationships!! All others are quickly weeded out..
Sorry folks- I’m outta here. I feel like a boat anchor on the conversation, replying 5 minutes after the thread’s moved on.
Master & Commander (the movie, not the wife) & a bottle of Cabernet are calling my name ๐
[Comment ID #34358 Quote]
hey Ryan, going to play some games with my daughter, then work on am email for you later
[Comment ID #34360 Quote]
What would be more cool is if Dave showed up on the Blog every now and then. C’mon Dave we know yer lurking out there!!!
[Comment ID #34361 Quote]
Another great movie! The fam and I are gettin’ ready to watch Pirate’s of the Carribean while we eat chili…
[Comment ID #34355 Quote]
Don’t know if I know you guys well enough to jump in on this but that’s pretty funny.
I don’t think any chile pepper goes down well on an empty stomach, I was once so hungry at work that I downed a fresh jalepeno on a empty stomach, I guess I should feel lucky that it was not a habenero.
Thanks huv! Gallons are stocked ant ready to go! How’s the review coming? ๐
They aren’t weeded out quick enough TracyC- you still occasionally get ‘burnt’ ๐
Later!
[Comment ID #34366 Quote]
Yep!!! I know the experience all too well!! Word travels fast though in this business. Unfortunately, it sometimes is a wee bit late.
[Comment ID #34355 Quote]
Sorry folks weird night PUKE BUTT I’am still laughing.
[Comment ID #34355 Quote]
HA Ha good one. I don’t think he has seen that yet, but he will find that funny too.
so do we call Mrs.pmac diahrea of the mouth?
[Comment ID #34369 Quote]
Pmac, I want you to know the nick-name was given purely out of love
[Comment ID #34371 Quote]
I guess i can talk too much………………. or wait…………. Hi Mrs Ryan.
[Comment ID #34373 Quote]
LMAO HI Mrspmac ๐
I am making New York steak tonight with some of Jims sauce, I am drooling just thinking about it ๐
[Comment ID #34367 Quote]
By that post, I feel like I missed alot stupid stupid work ๐
Sounds yummy ๐ On the BBQ?
We just got take out. Drank too much last night did’nt feel like preparing anything.
in the oven on about 150, so the meat is tender, I am using the fiery habanero sauce….I am gonna put them in, in about 15 minutes ๐
[Comment ID #34367 Quote]
It’s more that we’re reluctant to call folks out. Earlier, on another thread, someone was asking how to handle a review where the interviewee insulted some other folks stuff. It was suggested that it be edited out or softened. I say not only *no* but HECK NO! Show the true colors! If through ‘editing’ they come across as Blair or John, but are really crapalacky, who’s been served?
And with that, I’ll catch up another day when I’m on a better connection. Yeah- I know- I said that before.
Hello. My name is Jim and I’m a blog addict….
[Comment ID #34379 Quote]
I said to edit it. I answered that way for 1 reason, and I will not post my reason on the blog because of the uproar it will cause.
[Comment ID #34381 Quote]
OO OO OO…is it time to sling carp? ๐
I would love to sling carp, but honestly it would be a waste of my time ๐
[Comment ID #34366 Quote]
LOL – it’s coming Jim!
[Comment ID #34381 Quote]
No problem! You have your reason to edit, I have mine to not.
[Comment ID #34383 Quote]
Nope- because I wouldn’t presume to be so bold as to say mine’s better than hers! Hubris is most often the cause of the uproars around here ๐
[Comment ID #34386 Quote]
LOL Jim, I think if we talked about both our reasons we would respect, understand, and crack jokes about it ๐
on another note, I fell in love with fiery hot habanero sauce and am currently baking New York Steak slathered in it, I will let you know (with all my colors showing) what I think ….But I can tell you I think it’s gonna rawk!!! It smells so freakin good right now
[Comment ID #34386 Quote]
Didn’t mean that you two would sling carp at one another ๐
RE: I fell in love with fiery hot habanero sauce
And who would I be to argue with *that* ? ๐
[Comment ID #34393 Quote]
I would be worried if you argued with me on that Jim ๐
Oh sure, don’t give me any credit for ordering something from Jim in which he enclosed the sauce that I OPENED and tried first…What a little miss Johnny Come Lately. ๐
[Comment ID #34395 Quote]
LOL – that’s how I got hooked. He sells it by th gallon you know – that’s how I get it now.
Sent you an email – NO LAUGHING
He doesn’t mess around with it in 5 oz. bottles either….
Ok so here is my unofficial review of the Fiery hot habanero sauce.
SEND ME 7 GALLONS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
just kidding, seriously though the stuff is really good, I just brushed it on the steak, and in my opinion was very good, next time I use it I am going to marinate the meat in it….YUMMY stuff Jim ๐ thanks for sending it to Ryan.
[Comment ID #34397 Quote]
Good evening CaJohn ๐
Tracy, it looks like you’ve been replaced!!!
Good Evening Mrs. Ryan, I’m glad you enjoyed the FHH, it is an excellent BBQ sauce!
[Comment ID #34397 Quote]
Hey CaJohn! Stay tuned for TALON Pizza coming soon. Half the pie will use TALON as the sauce. The other half Talon and tomoato sauce. Can’t wait to try it!
Tracy, don’t feel too bad, Jim’s part of your “Clan”, so it’s all in the family!
[Comment ID #34402 Quote]
I tole you bro, I need to get some of that pizza!!! I quess I’ll just have to wait and do one myself. It should be “killer”!!!
[Comment ID #34400 Quote]
OMG no way “the Tracy” will never be replaced!!! “the Jim” is just a good substitute ๐
[Comment ID #34402 Quote]
Maybe alittle Black mamba on the side
[Comment ID #34406 Quote]
C’mon Bret, that Should be the appetizer!!! After that, the pizza would be rather tame…
Please explain “the”. I know it’s a term for the Interstates out west, are they like a road?
[Comment ID #34406 Quote]
LOL – Got some Mamba on Friday. Broke it out last night while BBQ’ing. NICE and HOT, no joke here! I will take some pictures and send to you and CaJohn next time!
[Comment ID #34404 Quote]
Come on over – your invited any time.
I know it’s HOT, but I don’t think I would call it NICE…
[Comment ID #34411 Quote]
I would ๐
[Comment ID #34410 Quote]
If I knew how to get there, I just might…
[Comment ID #34408 Quote]
I use it as a possession thing, “the Tracy” is a sauce we get from Tracy….”the Jim” is a sauce we get from Jim….as far as “the” being roads out west, we call them trails or paths ๐
[Comment ID #34413 Quote]
JFK or Laguardia – i’ll pick you up!
be careful CaJohn, you may end up hog tied and hidden somewhere in his house, forever used to make your famous sauces all for him!!!!!!
Wait till you experience the Interstate system in Texas, they go a little crazy with it there. One of them you go over a bridge, and all of a sudden you’re on a downtown street of Ft Worth. It’s the one you take in from the DFW airport.

LOL ๐ – i’ll keep him right next to the Humunculus!
I ordered talon and krakatoa yesterday ๐ I am patiently waiting iit’s arrival now ๐

[Comment ID #34423 Quote]
I’ll let him go when he signs a bottle of TALON for me. My new goal is to get my top 5 non-extract bottles signed (prblem is taht I do not know which ones make the list except that TALON is number 1 and Jims FHH is #2)
[Comment ID #34424 Quote]
LOL – absolutely. When i’m in a taxi in the City I try not to watch where we are going -too scary.
so I just went to visit my other secret store…I am gonna go broke, I also ordered a bottle of ignite to go in my collection ๐

When we went into the city for the Chile Pepper Heat on the Street thing in front of the Stock exchange, we rode in from LaGuardia in a 15 passenger van. At one point almost all of the passengers/victims were thrown off the seats during a high speed aborted lane change episode. I wanted to kiss the sidewalk when we finally made it ti the Millenium Hilton. We were the last stop.

All discontinued and very rare Mrs. Ryan! Though a few might be found on the lower out-of-date shelves of hot shops stuck in the dark folds of alleyways of long forgotten tourist traps, but who knows what lurks in boxes within the corners of one’s past. ๐
what is wrong with people!!!!!!!!!!I need a cabinet for my new collection and no one is selling one worth my money man this is gonna get rough ๐
[Comment ID #34462 Quote]
well MSK, I for one would love to find the out of the way forgotten tourist traps, or the boxes of ones past that’s for dang sure…this sauce thing is really an obsession for me. everything about it fascinates me. ๐
this sauce thing is really an obsession for me. everything about it fascinates me…….
Ahhhh me girl…..We do share a passion, I say!
Ryan framed our special pictures, and stuck them on the appropriate shelf, what a great thing this sauce world of ours is ๐
Msk, you still around?
I am pretty sure everyone found something else to do ๐
Everyone but you…
I am hangin out on the internet looking for different stuff, keeping myself occupied trying to beat boredom ๐
The night is still young for MSK, he is the true “Night Owl”. I’m sure he is working on his database and his site. The man is phenominal! And very entertaining. He can talk for hours on sauces.
I am really looking forward to the completion of that site, his collection is absolutely amazing.
What’s amazing is how he has tracked down some of the producers who are out of the biz and got them to sign a bottle or two for him. That takes some real perseverence!
That is amazing, I am not sure if I would have the tenacity to do that. I get frustrated with sites that advertise bottles they don’t have ๐
So many of the sites have webmasters who get a fee for every change they make. It is sort of crazy that the stores can’t make changes themselves. We’re guilty of that too. I am trying to get it so we can at least put sold out, or discontinued on some of the items. It upsets people, and justifably so, when we have to call them and tell them we don’t have something. We try to get stores we know that have it to send it to them. That’s what Vic was talking about with the HD Heat. Pepper Palace sent it to them for us. We pass on the sale and the customer gets what they wanted, and the store gets a new customer. It’s a win for everyone! Pepper Palace has a lot of older sauces that collectors are looking for. They don’t have them on the site, but you can call them and they’ll tell you if they have it. Pepper Palace Rocks!
I know Craig lurks on this blog so I posted that for his benefit, they really do have a great selection. Now if we could only get them to sell CaBoom! Salsa again…
ahhhh yes! I have them in my faves, but have never ordered from them. I look on ebay, and talk to Ryan, I just got into the collecting side so I am just collecting info and figuring out what everything is worth and what I am willing to spend it takes a lot of time but I think it’s worth it. I am gaining alot of knowledge and websites ๐
It’s Midnight here, so I’m going to turn in. Cooked breakfast for 1200 along with some friends this morning, 500 showed up. They are going to spray for gypsy moths tomorrow from low flying aircraft starting at 6:00 AM,( that sounds like a magic number the last 3 days) so I won’t be getting my normal amount of shut eye. G’Night Mrs. R, give Ryan my best and I look forward to that phone call this week!!!
[Comment ID #34468 Quote]
Yep…Still around. Doing a mixture of things right now. Was working on the database but got sidetracked looking at conversion vans. With the trips I take on, catching catnaps in a pickup isn’t my idea of a rest stop, so I’m looking to travel a little more comfortable.
G’night CaJohn!! sleep well I’ll be talkin to you later in the week and I’ll pass on the message to Ryan ๐

I hear ya, the kids can barely get in and out of my car and they love that it’s sporty but they hate getting in or out of it …..

I think they have the sauce that is on the label (i.e. the Jersey Death label is on a new bottle of Jersey death)

Hello All, What a Day in Death Sauce Landโฆ.SO here is some more info for ya. The Vintage bottles are actual labels that for whatever reason never went into production Some are even handwritten by me from 1989. The labels include- Death, Sudden, Jersey, Jalapeno and Mega. I have gone to great measures to ensure incredible reproduction. The labels will be hand applied to the proper sauce. So Yes the Sauces will be fresh and not from 1989. All sets will got out with assorted numbers No One will have all #1โs. Or 2โs etc. โฆ.Funny Story Todayโ Suzi (My great Death Sauce Helper who makes my desk look almost normal until she leaves) takes a phone call today from โBlank Blankโ A long time Chilihead with usโฆ He tells her he will pay $2000. for a set of Vintage โฆShe sweetly saysโ but they only cost $200.โ and puts him on hold, comes over to my desk and says what should I doโฆI simply replied โtell him to place his order online and give $1800. to charityโโฆโฆFeel Alive Blair
Yes enzot, huvason is right- they are reproductions of older labels but not older sauces, each sauce is what the label shows ๐
[Comment ID #34743 Quote]
I was down there all day yesterday. Some cool stuff. Not too many new products but I did get a chance to try Blair’s new salsas. WOW are they good. Blair wasn’t at this show. Apparently he was needed in Jersey. It would have been great to meet him. I did talk to Paul and Greg from Bodine Specialty Foods again, though. Those guys are great. Looking forward to hanging with them and many others at ZestFest this year.
Thanks all…..

My set just got here about 10 minutes ago, and the Gardener’s Death Bottle – the entire bottle – was cracked completely in half and had leaked out ALL of the ingredients. Such a shame. The bad news is that EVERY bottle was damaged because the labels were ruined. :/

[Comment ID #35383 Quote]

Good news about the vintage set!!!!!
[Comment ID #35478 Quote]
Good to hear they hooked you up!
2 Vintage sets are available on ebay now for anyone who didn’t get one the first time around. Just an FYI.
I got my set the other day, I’ll have to post the numbers next week when I get back into town. Wow are they ever cool, even the wife was taken aback with them.
My set was dead mint-perfect signatures in a variety of sharpie colors. Following the #11 theory:
Sudden (c) NUMBER FRIGGIN 2!!!
Jersey #13
Sudden (g) #24
Gardner’s #35
Sudden #46
Of course willing to trade around for other 13’s or 2’s!
Best to all with colds, coughs, running, bladder probs, kidney stones, new kids and travels!!!
Thanks to Blair for making this happen – amazing king of karma he is indeed.
I love Blairs sauces, but as for his buisness tactics I think they suck. When he started the cutting room floor contest, it was supposed to end on a certain date and it didn’t. If he would of ended when he said, I would have wound up with one of these sets for free. Am I a sore loser, I don’t think so, I followed the rules he set forth and when it was time to see who the winners were going to be, he extended the contest, it wasn’t fair to all of us who entered on time, it just pisses me off ’cause I was definately a winner til he extended the time, just not good practice and really unethical. Probably waited for some of his friends to enter, I won’t be entering any more of his contests, I think they’re fixed.
[Comment ID #32928 Quote] Thank you Blair my ass. Next time you run a contest keep to your own rules and time table, a fixed and unfair contest.
[Comment ID #39878 Quote]
Second comment he ever posted! WoW ๐ He is gonna drum up some contriversy here hehe
Where did that come from? Sorry you feel that way. I do not think it is fixed, but even more so….what would make you so sure you would have won? There were from what I recall over 400 entries, and I bet MOST were in within the first 10 days ๐
D00D I have been giving the opportunity to get a bottle or two to bloggers. I still have a few left if interested. I am selling them basically for cost, and a portion is going to stepupforcharity.org with our very own Jim Campbell at the helm.
Peace brother.
P.S. Wrong thread. This is for the vintage ๐
You guys can all see Mr. Paul Fazzi’s collection on Blair’s site. ๐
It only stirs up controversy if we choose to let it. Stuff like this is just best left ‘delete’ and done ๐
Sounds like much of the same complaints about Nicks’ contest- maybe they’re in cohoots ๐ Great company to be in, IMHO ๐
[Comment ID #39889 Quote]
My thoughts exactly! Great company no doubt
[Comment ID #39889 Quote]
Awww Jim, we cant delete it, we get the good with the bad ๐ ๐
otherwise HSB would become slighted!
“It only stirs up controversy if we choose to let it.”
True, at least people can pass right over it if they choose.
[Comment ID #39891 Quote]
“Ignore” is more along the lines of what I meant, not censorship. Sorry- I’m still used to ‘lists’ where if you don’t like something, you just hit ‘delete’ rather than ‘reply’ ๐
[Comment ID #39892 Quote]
Ehh well, it’s just an opinion, everyone’s got one and those with the least positive like to voice it the most.
[Comment ID #39894 Quote]
I once heard opions compared to a**ho**s- everybody’s got one & they all stink except your own ๐
and Jim quite if your honest with yourself and everyone else even that one stinks ๐
[Comment ID #39878 Quote]
Question, how the hell do you know you were a “winner til he extended the time” ? Thanks for not entering any more of his contests. Just leaves the door that much further open for other people to win ๐
[Comment ID #39904 Quote]
Uh OH! Ryans up ๐ You give em hell Ryan LOL!
[Comment ID #39905 Quote]
LOL Just got home from a weekend trip to find this crap. I think that its just a little late in the game to be bringing up this crap.
[Comment ID #39903 Quote]
That should read…..If your honest with yourself and others even that A-hole stinks….little tired here so I am not thinking straight nor can I type.
[Comment ID #39907 Quote]
ohh!! Pishaw, Mrs.Ryan such language!
.. ๐
pmac, it gets worse, my daddy worked in sawmills his whole life and my mommy is a truck driver ๐ I can outcuss a sailor ๐ ROFL
Just as Blair puts on his bottle’s “made with great karma”, I believe he tried to have great karma in the way he ran his contest by giving more people an oppurtunity to get there stories in. I did win a cutting room floor set but was so prepared not to after so many good stories and collection pictures were sent in. I had no ill feelings when I read that it would be extended, honestly, it made it more exciting and suspenseful. Before the results even came out I already felt like a winner just by being a part of it. Well, that’s just another opinion. Thanks for listening.
[Comment ID #39912 Quote]
I couldn’t have said it better. ๐
[Comment ID #39909 Quote]
Ohh now see there you go using words like cuss, …that is the Mrs.Ryan we know! Much better young lady ๐

Anybody else notice that Blairs’ thread has now surpassed Crapalacky as most popular? More fitting I say.
