Yup, another DEFCON Day has been slated!
Here we go again, another DEFCON Day is coming up on Saturday, July 22, once again at what is becoming our HQ, The Alley, in Berkeley Heights, NJ. I’ve been told we are getting our Coors “Aco-Light” girl, Christie, back for this one. For those of you who never met her, she’s a trip!We’ll be doing the standard, free wings all day long, DEFCON actionwear and sauce raffles, and of course, another WING EATING CONTEST!!! The prize has yet to be determined, but I can guarantee you, it’ll be something good! Those of you who weren’t able to make it to the last one, you saw the pics on the blog. If you are anywhere close to NJ, I’d suggest making it for this go around. It has become a cult hit, and Hell, who doesn’t want the best Damn wings of 2006 for free?
Just an update. Just 15 days until the next Defcon Day installment. From the e-mails I’ve received, this should be a good one. And the ChrisK/Huvason “Wing Eating Deathmatch” should be a great photo-op for anyone with a camera. I’ve been toying around with a couple of ideas, and I’ve become fond of this idea:
Each contestant will get either 5 or 10 wings (I haven’t decided yet) of .5 (yes, Defense Condition point 5, some #1 with a mix of a pre-release Batch #3) sauce, and they will have 5 minutes to eat them. I’ll be wearing my respirator and goggles when serving these.
Anyway, for those with functioning pain receptors, we will be having 2 other contests, one with the #2 sauce, for the general public, and another with the #1 sauce. I haven’t come up witht he prizes yet, but I’m debating a group of homemade (by MY hand, not the co-packers) sauces and Super-Sized Habby Horses (the new one).

Huv nice stuff very nice. Anybody gets the chance try huvason new fat kids sauces try. Nice aroma, looks, chunky, taste real darn good, heat level there for you chiliheads. No I’am not kissing his b———-utt. It is really a nice sauce.

Sporto! That is something I hope will become a reality. In case you didn’t know Uncle Big is now distributing Defcon for Canada. Check his site at http://www.unclebig.com. I am trying to get some Defcon carried here in Toronto at Taste the 4th Sense on the Danforth. So a Defcon day is something I will try and push for. Have to maybe get in touch with the Creator and and see if he will let one of his “Acolytles” chair the debauchery.

I have been toying with the idea of having an “Acolyte” run the shindig for a while now, as work does not allow an excess of travel. I have had requests for Defcon Days now from Canada, the west coast, Germany, and Ireland. Ahhhh, the sweet sound of global domination.
For what it’s worth, consider this a request for a Defcon Day in Lexington, KY. Okay, Cincinnati, maybe?

Went to a wing place down here in savannah and had their hottest wings – supposedly the hottest around ( the waitress wouldn’t even carry them to the table). They had NO heat at all! It was funny looking at the peoples faces as I plowed through 12 of them without batting an eye. Need to carry some DEFCON ONE with me when I travel 🙂

Chris, the un-named female is quite amazing when it comes to extreme heat…I was at another local watering hole and brought up the Deathmatch, she immediately yelled out, “I’M IN!!!”. Needless to say, she has tried the ZERO on more than one occaision (Huv, she was at the last Defcon Day but had to leave early) , and it doesn’t seem to phase her. Kinda scary actually.

On second thought, with a co-pilot we could split the cost of a cheap room. Any recommendations of a good place to stay would be welcome as well. Probably would just be me though, I don’t have a lot of friends crazy enough to take off that far on short notice. I drive a mid size SUV, so just a place to park would be fine. I can camp out in the car, done it before on biking trips. Of course I was a lot smaller then. 🙂 Anyone needs to contact me, Nick has my email.

There are gonna be a lot of them. It goes from 1-6pm. There are going to be THREE Wing Eating Competitions this time around (one with the #2, one with the #1, and of course “The Deathmatch”). There will be the standard raffles for Defcon actionwear and sauce packs during the whole time. It seems we’re going to have a larger number of bloggers this time around (Hell, DK is driving up from SC, God Bless Him!). It should be a really good time, and a lot more of the locals who missed the last one want in on the wing competitions. I have made some really cool prizes for the competitions, so bring your appetites, oh yeah, AND MAD! 🙂

Good question. I might as well reveal all the rules now. Everyone in the Deathmatch will sit and sign a wonderful little release beforehand. Each individual will then put on their gloves (required). Each will receive 10 little wings, just 10. Everyone has 5 minutes to eat them. After the 5 minutes are up, all ingestibles (beer, water, etc) will be removed from the table. Each contestants hands will remain motionless on top of the table for the next 10 minutes, this is where the fun begins. Disqualification will result from the following; Not being able to finish the wings (if no one is, the person who finishes the most wins), either or both hands coming off the table after the initial 5 minutes are up. Evacuation on another contestant is allowed, and would make for a great video, lower evacuation is allowed as long as your hands stay on the table. In the result of a tie…Well, let’s cross that bridge when we get to it. 🙂

Hey Creator just a little question for you…Do you know how far Kilmer reserve is from Berkeley Heights ?? I am thinking of bringing my mountain bike with to hit the trails there, suppose to be pretty nice riding for NJ.

Kilmer reserve….Do you mean Camp Kilmer in Piscataway? Probably not, it’s a former Army Post, I wouldn’t imagine the mountain bike riding is very good there, unless you ride through the unexploded ordnance areas. Other than that, I’ve never heard of it. The Watchung Reservation is right next door, about 5 miles away, I’d imagine you could do some riding through there, some pretty good trails. Then there is the South Mountain Reservation as well, but they frown on mountain bikes, too many children getting run over on the back trails. There are a number of reservations in the area. Believe it or not, NJ has more than just oil refineries and chemical plants. However, for a real thrill, you can tube down the discharge tubes at the local pharmaceutical plant…You go really fast, but then you hit the multi-colored foam in the tailings pond.
Not sure I found it on trail source.com. It says it is off of sr287 take river road exit. Looks like the main entrance is on avenue E, ring any bells ??

Hey man, at least you can’t walk across the Ohio River in August, unlike the Passaic River around here. But then again, does the Ohio River have 3-headed frogs and mercury-encrusted clams that speak Latin?
Not sure if I will bring the bike now looks like rain all weekend in NJ according the weather.com. Oh well who knows. The trails are located on the Livingston capmus of Rutgers University. Looks like they might be close according to the map. I have gps on my laptop so I am sure I can find it just wondering how close they were. Thanks for all the help, see ya Saturday.

Hmmm, the Livingston Campus of Rutgers is about 15 minutes away. However, double check it’s the Livingston Campus in Livingston. May sound strange, but NJ has a habit of throwing curveballs. Hell, we have 3 Washington Townships.
