Sriracha based snack food - did you need to know more?

Love Sriracha? Love Wasabi Peas? Then you’ll love these spicy little snacks. Lauren & I went on a foodie adventure this last weekend and decided to try out the local Super H Mart since we had recently gone to Ranch 99. Super H is much like Ranch 99 – filled with Asian foods and products – so we spent a good amount of time just wandering the aisles and trying to figure out what certain things were. But as we were about to leave, I saw a can of these peas out of the corner of my eye and had them in the cart before Lauren even realized what had happened. I didn’t even care what the fine print was – all I cared was that it was a snack food made with Sriracha.

Surprisingly, these peas have nothing to do with wasabi peas which come with a more advanced spiciness. The Sriracha Peas are addictive  just like their wasabi cousins. But unlike the wasabi  versions, these peas don’t kick you in the nose. Instead, the garlic and chile will leave your tastebuds watering and your mouthing wanting more. Before you know it, the entire jar of Sriracha peas will be gone – so you might as well buy more then one at once.

The only real negative is that these peas don’t have the heat you would expect if you are at all familiar with Sriracha – but they do have a lot of the flavor. And that’s the next best thing about Sriracha, so no matter what, you’ll enjoy crunching down on these by the handful.
