“Our fans have chosen some of our best-selling flavors in past People’s Choice campaigns, including Spicy Thaiâ„¢, Tuscan Three Cheese, and Buffalo Bleu, but they kept asking us when we were going to do ‘hot’ flavors,” said Kim Sheridan, Kettle Foods’ Chief Flavor Architect. “We developed the Fire and Spice flavors for people looking for more than just mouth burn. The flavors tease the taste buds with unexpected complexity, like combining cayenne and habanero chilies with sweet mango and cinnamon.”
Sheridan describes flavors up for vote as:
· Wicked Hot Sauce: inspired by hot sauce, the cayenne pepper and vinegary tang flood taste buds with spicy heat.
· Mango Chili: sweet mango highlighted with a salty, spicy blend of cayenne and habanero chilies will have your tongue dancing the mango tango.
· Jalapeño Salsa Fresca: a blend of fiery jalapeño and spicy cayenne mellowed with soothing sun dried tomato, green bell pepper and lime flavors.
· Orange Ginger Wasabi: the punch of wasabi, a little ginger and a twist of citrus blend for a spicy Asian bite.
· Death Valley Chipotle: a smoky blend of red chili, cayenne, chipotle, habanero and herbs lays the foundation for this flavor’s slow burning heat.
