Review: Green Bandit Basil Serrano Hot Sauce

Green Bandit Basil Serrano Hot Sauce

Pizza and hot sauce go together like hot wings and bleu cheese – a must for some and not so much for others. I’ve always been a huge fan of Cholula Hot Sauce on Pizza and my inner pizza eating college kid rejoiced when Papa John’s announced a partnership with Cholula. But it’s time for Cholula to move over, because there’s a new sauce in pizza town. Green Bandit’s Basil Serrano Hot Sauce has now become my number one hot sauce for all things Italian food.

Ingredients: Filtered Water, Basil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Serrano Peppers, Habanero Peppers, Salt, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Ginger, Olive Oil, Garlic Powder, Xanthan Gum

I did a complete review of the Basil Hot Sauce and it’s Culiary Sauce counterpart already, so I’ll spare everyone the nitty gritty details – so the summary of both reviews will be simple: If you like basil, you’ll love these sauces. The Basil Serrano hot sauce has just enough heat for you to pick it up but not enough for you to put the sauce down.

This SAS (specific application sauce) screams to be used on Italian food, but I’, sure there are other ways to put this sauce to the test. It may not be very pretty when poured on your slice – but it’s the only way I eat my pizza now.
